Customizable Challenges (like start date, duration etc)

I would like to be able to set which days I want for a challenge. Not all of my friends work a workweek (Mon-Fri). I would like to be able to make a challenge thats like Thurs-Sun or Mon-Wed-Fri. Or whatever days my friends work during that week. Choose teams and partners.

I'd love to be able to create weekend warrior challenges for long weekends when a holiday falls on a Monday or a Friday (a Thursday-Sunday challenge for Thanksgiving also makes sense). Who doesn't want to include tomorrow in a LDW warrior challenge??

I agree, should have longer weekend challenges around the holidays. I also think there should be month long challenges.

Yes, please!!  I work in a country/region that has a Sunday through Thursday work week.  Most of the people that I challenge during the work week also have the same Sunday-Thursday week.  It seems unfair that an entire region (where I see fitbit for sale all over) should be disregarded in this way.

Agree! And think of people at work who do challenges for all employees in various locations in various time zones? Fitbit challenges should be customizable for those needs as well.

I'm using a fitbit Charge HR. I also work on a ranch in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. I don't carry my phone around and even if I did there's no services of any kind on most of the property. I use the interface of the HR to keep track of where I am and log into the dashboard once a day when I'm home and near services. I was so excited to see the new Yosemite challenges and signed up for Vernal Falls. Completed the required steps, checked in that evening and discovered that a full half of the game, the Treasures section, is unavailable to me because I can't sync data during the day. Isn't there something that could be done to change the way the challenge works to make Treasures section available? Have the option to complete the activities on other days? Even if I were in a phone service area how many folks have jobs where they cannot check their phones during the day and are automatically excluded from the Treasures? I've given up on these challenges since they're frustrating not motivating.

Please remove the limit for maximum 5 challenges!

My friends and I would love to be able to include more than 10 people in a challenge. We have turned it into a fun game but we are not able to include everyone any more because the group has grown beyond the 10 people limit.

I would like to start a chalange of 1000 miles starting 1/1 instead of a New Years resolution that'll be broken in a week! I would also be awesome if you could do multiple chalanges at the same time since this is for the entire year!

This would be great! I'd also like to be able to "perpetually" challenge someone so we're competing every day until one of us decides we don't want to anymore.

Hi I was wondering about the ability to customize challenges as well. I participated in the Step It up Challenge and was wondering with some fitbit friends about a holiday hustle from now til Thanksgiving then Thanksgiving til Christmas.

Is there any reason they couldn't be fully customizable? Like a 2 day, 30 day, 90 day, whatever day challenge? The standard ones are a great start but get a little repetitive. Fully customizable ranges would allow you to do fun things like a countdown to summer, holiday season, or even a half-day challenge. This would be so fun and add a lot of variety.

Hi,
I would like to see more challenges that you can pick from. I would like to see a flight of stairs challenge and to be able to have more than 10 people in a group since I have such a big family.
Thanks!

It would be great to have the feature to be able to make your own adventures. Living in Madison Wisconsin, there are awesome places to walk in the downtown area, nature preserves, and lakes. Additionally choosing custom challenges would be a huge bonus. Giving people the freedom to customize the way they workout is so important! And being able to safe adventures for other Fitbit users in the area would be an added bonus

Challenges is a good way to increase motivation to be more active. But fitbit does not offer too many options to further the experience on challenges, here are some of the ideas we came up with.

  • Customise challenges - we would love to be able to select the length of the challenge (weekly, monthly, yearly) and the days to include in each week. Etc. a monthly/yearly workday hustle challenge
  • Team goals - have a common goal that every member of the team needs to work together to achieve. So we can encourage each other to walk more. So instead of "Aww you did another 5k steps, how am I going to catch up with you", the conversations would be like "You need to walk home today or else we would not be able to make the goal".
  • Auto renew challenges, a tally, and keeping all the history of the past challenges. Less buttons to press for better user experience, and give us all the history we would be interested in, either backup through an email or somewhere built in the app.
  • World rankings for individual / teams. Something like the benchmarks for fitbit premium, but more like giving out badges and achievements if someone/team cracked the top 10%/5% of the nation or the whole fitbit community.

My employer held a 6-week Fitbit challenge through our wellness program earlier this year that I would like to continue.  The challenge options currently offered by Fitbit are really not motivating or fun at all in comparison to the design of the wellness program challenge.  From paging through this board, it doesn't look like Fitbit has taken any of these suggestions and made changes or included new challenges as a result.  Is that fair to say?  I'd give details of what made the other challenge so well-designed in the hope that Fitbit would add it, but it doesn't seem like that would go anywhere.  The wellness program challenge used a 3rd party website that linked to our Fitbit accounts to automatically update the step totals.  Are there other 3rd party sites out there that offer Fitbit challenges?  Are there any challenge options other than the 4–5 offered through the Fitbit app?

Can you share the 3rd party app? You are corrext about fitbit not making any changes.

It was staywell.com, I think it may have been part of our company intranet.  If there are other apps out there that do this, by linking to your Fitbit account, I'd love to know what they are!

Everymove is another and I believe your company can offer rewards through the site/app.

Have to agree with you. Fitbit doesn't care about its customers
when it comes to the challenges. I suggested to them two years ago to have monthly challenges. And being able to have only 10 in a challenge is not big enough, especially for company challenges.
