Customize Reminder to Move Time of Frequency

it would be nice to have a Hourly Activity tile on the dashboard that would readily give the steps taken in the hour and how many more you have to go... and including that information in the Hourly Activity section of the app.

would also be nice to have the ability to edit the amount of steps.  Have the minimum as 250 but give the user the ability to increade that if needed.

and the ability to change the time that you get the reminder to move, sometimes 10 mins to the top of the hour doesn't give enough time to work in the remainder of the steps needed.

I  had the blaze but felt it wasn't very feminine so I got the charge 2 and found it doesn't have a countdown!!! I need that for multiple reasons!!! I set it for exercise with weights! I set it for work when I take breaks!!! When will there be an update with this feature!??

Hi @tiggerulz in the spirit of streamlining so there is one idea per Feature Suggestion, I've retitled this one and direct those interested in:

Thanks for your suggestion.

make is so you can adjust the ten minute warning/alert adjustable for individual needs.  I have been trying to move every hour and the last ten minutes is just not long enough of a warning.    maybe, twenty or thirty would be better to have it default to.   The best way would be to just put it as a choice of so you can enter in a time element to suit or needs.

I would like the 10 minute move reminder to go off every 20 minutes.  Sometimes I am working at a desk and completely miss the single one at 10 till the hour.  Also the vibration needs to be stronger/longer.  This is the most important notification for me personally, and it seems to be she shortest/weakest of all of them.

In a future software update, include the option to alert you every 15 mins in order to drink water or grab some steps.

Doing smaller amounts of water or walking every 15 mins vs an hour would promote a more fit lifestyle. The reminder could be turned on and off via the device at any time to avoid going off during a mtg or movie and could either supplement or replace the current reminder at :50 to get steps.

My choir director has his Apple Watch set to remind him to move every 20 minutes.  This is exactly what I need as I sit at a computer a lot.

I have a lot of meetings that start on the hour and last an entire hour (I'm guessing I'm not alone). Since the hourly reminders reset on the hour, I can never get my 250 steps in a "calendar hour". When you set the daily hourly reminders, it does not let you change the minutes of the start time (i.e. 8:10 to 5:10 instead of 8:00 to 5:00), you can only change the hours field while the minutes have been grayed out. If I could just do this, I would still have a fighting chance to actually complete my hourly steps despite my meetings.

As a student, I have 1.5 hour classes where I have to sit down the entire class. It is not possible for me to get 250 steps in during those 1.5 hours. I understand "active hour" is pretty strict on what it means, but one should be able to adjust their goals to be active every 2 hours instead (even to do the same 500 steps every 2 hours), or even the other way, to be active every half an hour.

In the hourly activity tracker, including options for reminders aside from "10 min" would be helpful.  Even if it were limited to 10, 15, or 20 minutes before the hour.  For those of us in offices, a 10-min to the hour notification isn't particularly helpful to meet an hourly goal.

Hourly tracking is still really appealing, but an adjustable timeframe to set the reminder would enhance the feature.  Personally, I'd love a 20 minute reminder so I have time to get to a place to break in my work and plan a walk break, chore, mini jog or play with the dog accordingly.

(I could also see how in more procrastination friendly days, a shorter timeframe would be a nice way to light a fire for movement.  Either way, adjustable settings.)

The default time for Reminder to Move is ten minutes before the hour. This is also the default for most calendar notifications, so on a smart watch (Ionic, Blaze), the calendar notification gets lost, unless you take the time to scroll through notifications.

Give us the option to change the minute for Reminder to Move to another time, e.g., eleven or twelve minutes before the hour (instead of ten minutes).

I would very much like to be able to edit the "Reminders to Move" tracking, so I can fill in a dot when I know I have completed a few moments of activity, but the tracker thinks it wasn't enough.

There are 2 reasons I would like to do this:

(1) I have a set route from my office that I walk every hour, but occasionally (maybe 1 in 10 times) the tracker does NOT seem to record quite enough steps to fill in the dot for that hour.  Sometimes, a missed dot for this reason is the ONLY missed dot I have for the entire day.  (My work can be rather absorbing, so after I finish my brief activity, I often forget make sure I get the notification confirming I took 250 steps.)

(2) Sometimes I get a bit of activity while the tracker is charging.  Shouldn't I be able to give myself credit for moving?

It's really frustrating to miss my goal for either of these reasons.  Sometimes I don't even feel like trying for the rest of the day.  This effectively de-motivates me, which is antithetical to the Reminders to Move.

I would love to be able to set an alert to remind me to get up and move every 15 minutes. The once an hour thing is not enough.

Hi @Zaphnia

Until this is possible, why not set a series of alarms to remind you to get up and move. You can have eight alarms set at once, then just change the times as each of those goes off.

I would love to see a setting that allows you to toggle on more aggressive reminders to move.  I enjoy trying to move the 250 per hour.  The problem is that there is just a short couple of vibrations 10 minutes before the hour.  I often miss this if I am currently moving around.  I would like to see a persistent message on the screen or multiple move reminders say at 10 min, 8 min and 5 min.  With multiple reminders I will be likely to catch one of them.

Yes, this is exactly what I need as well. Thank you for writing it out ^_^

For me, it is that you are sometimes caught up in something and you dismiss the reminder without thinking about it <_>

I work from home and it's easy to lose track of time. Before I know it, I'm 10 minutes to the hour and my Charge 3 has just informed me that I haven't moved for the last 50 minutes and I need to go walk 250 steps, which really isn't doable unless I leave the house. It would be much, much more helpful to get a reminder every 15 minutes to to walk, say, 50 steps, or to at least get the reminder earlier than 10 minutes. So it would be great if we could customise both when we get the reminder to move and how many steps that reminder is counting for. And also, perhaps being able to manually check that you moved in the hour, just for your own records (I'm still laughing that I spent four hours yesterday going up and down a 10-foot ladder and my Charge 3 told me I didn't do any exercise all day Smiley LOL).

Hello @TravellingRae  ! Thanks for sharing this suggestion, I moved it to this similar post so you can add your vote to it. Please keep sharing your ideas with us

I have searched the suggestions and didn't find anything that was exactly what I was looking for.

I would like the ability to set custom reminder to move intervals. Currently, we only have the option to monitor an hour for activity, between two times of day. I would specifically like to be able to monitor movement or activity in 20 or 30 minute blocks during certain times of a given day.

Thank you for your consideration.

This desire has been logged many times since reminders were added as a feature, sadly there doesn’t seem to be enough votes so unlikely to happen 😕

I would really like to adjust reminder to move notification to 15 minutes. Sometimes 10 minutes is not enough time to reach a stopping point in a task AND still get 250 steps in.
