Fitbit and Cyclemeter Integration

In THIS THREAD there's been quite a discussion on the desires of some for certain other apps to sync with FitBit, particularly for me the Cyclemeter app. In that link you can see a lot of the pros and cons of Cyclemeter vs. Strava and to be honest, Strava stinks.

I have reached out to Cyclemeter and they have passed along the request to sync with FitBit but they said unless there is a lot more interest (apparently I was the first to ask), they would have to hold off and maybe in the distant future.

I'm sure if FitBit contacted Cyclemeter that could get things sped up and interests piqued!

Fitbit should understand that customers may migrate to the iWatch (as you and I are both considering) for reasons like this. I don't want one YET but as the price drops and v2 approaches, and there's no integration with the main app I'd want it for, that switch becomes more likely.

Just purchased a chargeHR and may return it as the main reason I purchased it was to sync for cyclemeter as my chest HR monitor is giving me a rash. Disappointing to say the least.

Please link Cyclemeter and Fitbit.....Lucky me today was given a Blaze as a birthday present and being a (self projected) cycle enthusiast the first thing I did was check for cyclemeter, to my dissapointment.....Please resolve this and make more of your fitbit customers happy - again..

I have found the heart rate monitor on my Fitbit Charge HR to be very accurate when measured against results during physicals, such a shame it does not work with Cyclemeter, one of the most popular apps available. Having the two work together to track heart rate along with mileage, ascent, descent, speed, etc would be extremely helpful. It's actually pretty ridiculous they don't. However, given Fitbit's history it doesn't surprise me. The strap keeper/clasp broke off on mine a little over a year after I bought it. The answer I got from support when I asked if there was a way to get/buy a replacement clasp was to purchase a new tracker, at 25% off. Buy a new tracker because of a part that probably costs 10 cents. This ridiculous answer added to the limitations of working with apps and devices is what is pushing customers to the Apple Watch. It will be cheaper in the end to buy the Apple Watch instead of a new tracker every year because of a 10 cent clasp.

+1 connecting Fitbit to Cyclemeter - this seems like an obvious pairing.

Also, in the penny-wise and pound-foolish category, $20 for a replacement or additional USB cable to connect the Fitbit HR Charge to the Mac. When I thought I’d lost my cable, I put the FitBit away. No way I’m paying $20 for a 8” cable. Ridiculous, as you say.

Long story short. There is a demand!

I would like the Fitbit-and-Cyclemeter connection too.

Let's face it, posting here is doing nothing to get this to happen. It's nearly a year and all they did was edit my original post.

If you look at the new areas of the mobile app, there are now many more, mostly useless (dick's sporting goods?) apps that will connect with FitBit, none of which are Cyclemeter.

It's time to get bothering Cyclemeter because FitBit made it easy for others to link the apps.

I've written Abvio, now it's your turn 🙂

Yes please make it so Fitbit and cyclometer connect...love that app for cycling and so much more. Trying Strava but Cylemeter is so much more intuitive. Thanks!

I got a polite note from Abvio Support saying that they have no plans to integrate FitBit, and adding they do have a lovely Apple Watch app…

I received this note today that states: b"The more demand we have, the more likely that the request gets a boost on our priority list." Keep sending those emails to Cyclemeter!!

"Thanks for writing to us about the Fitbit. I'm afraid I don't have good news for you.

We do not support Fitbit integration and adding that support is not in our near term plans. I'm sending this over to Engineering as a feature request. The more demand we have, the more likely that the request gets a boost on our priority list.

Sorry I can't help with this."

I gave up on this. Bought myself a Wahoo chest strap monitor and I gotta say that it's way more accurate than FitBit.

I found a 300 calorie burn difference between fitbit and wahoo and I'm going to stick with the Wahoo. When trying to count calories accurately and not starve doing it, this is the way to go.

I'm done with FitBit.

I also use wahoo chest strap and was looking for alternative as the strap was giving me a little rash. Found I just needed wet cloth between sensor and skin. No more inaccurate Fitbit.

Hi All,

I sent the following note to Abvio support today. Let's hope that continued messaging changes their minds.

Hi,

I have been using Cyclometer for three years and really find it to be THE app for cyclists. Last week I received a FitBit for my birthday and was hugely disappointed that It could/would not connect to CycleMeter. From the research I have done FitBit is willing, but Abvio needs to jump on board too. Please consider the integration a top priority for your engineers.

Thanks for your consideration.

PLEASE integrate the heart rate data from Cyclemeter with Fitbit! Both are valuable apps that generate data in different, but useful, formats. Integration of the heart rate function would be very helpful!

I also would love to see Cyclemeter integrated with my FitBit HR.

A year later and still no support? That is too bad...hopefullly more people will get on-board and/or someone will listen.

Just purchased a Charge 2 and I think it is cool but only if you can get the Fitbit-and-Cyclemeter connection working. It is easier for me to give up the watch vs. givng up the app. Thanks
