Friends Daily/Weekly Step Count on App and graph

I think a welcomed addition to the friends profile across all apps would be the ability to see a friend's daily step count.  This would be useful when "chasing" a friend down.  Smiley Happy

Other user data such as, distance, active minutes, pictures and other information that person has set to share with friends would be nice as well.

Idealy the user would be able to slide through previous days like you can on your personal dashboard view

Fitbit on this issue seems to be guided by “participation trophy” mentality. IMHO unfortunately I don’t expect this to ever be changed. This easily correctable “omission” has languished for years, with no action.

It would be fun and motivating be able to customize what our friends view...for example...I would like to be able to view my friend's steps real time....so I know when they are killing it...this would motivate me to get up and go as well...and vice versa.  The same could be true for minutes, miles, floors, and daily exercise...rather than just an average daily steps

Hi,

I'm going away skiing and my girlfriend is worried about avalanches I was hoping there would be a way to set up a daily exercise report with someone else to use as a kind of biological monitor so she can check I'm ok in case I forget to text so I would definitely support this idea.

It’s never gonna happen! Fitbit unbelievably non responsive. A real shame jawbone went under.

Think they want to sell advertising. Lock us into highly inconvenient daily challenges. Company incredibly tone deaf. Really hope a competitor takes em down. They deserve to fail. This is core functionality. It’s Like begging for bread or water in a restaurant, that never comes!!

Come on Fitbit you should be allowed to see your friends daily graphs etc that you set to show friends on the app it' stupid doing just 7 days why not daily this would be an even better motivator to use the Fitbit they are expensive pleassseeeeeee change this so we can see our friends info daily not weekly or daily average

I have talked to them on Facebook, twitter, email and IM.  This is getting ridiculous.  The people who read these suggestions are NOT listening.  I think all of this goes to low level employees who have no power to address changes..  When I tell them the that thread has been going on for years they have no idea what I am talking about.  There latest suggestion is:   GIVE YOUR FRIENDS YOU ONLINE PASSWORD SO THEY CAN SEE YOUR DAILY STEPS.  Come on.

Being able to see friends daily activity without them posting it is a must.

@pinkdog10 omg they told you to give out your password?? Smiley LOL That is pretty terrible. Usually their community moderators are more on top of things than this. I can't believe they haven't given us any updates or made any progress on this...

Here you guys another stock standard answer from Fit Bit

"Thanks for your interest. This idea is already being reviewed by our developers. If there is certain interest, it maybe implemented in the future and updates will definitely be posted. Rest assured we're always looking to improve the Fitbit experience and appreciate your feedback."

If there is certain interest? what does that even mean? EVERY SINGLE PERSON IVE SPOKEN TO wants this feature plus people on here and others on so many other internet forums for FitBit so yes there is HEAPS OF INTEREST

I sent tweet to CEO about daily steps. Customer service said, could you give us more information?  This is after a constant stream to CS.  I am sending tweets to the CEO,@ prarkjames and customer service with the hashtags.Obviously the only way to get attention is to go to the top. Fitbit has decided to go from counting steps to extending life, but won't give us daily steps to check on each other.

Good idea with the hashtags, I will definitely use those! I also left a review on the app store expressing how we would like to see daily step counts. I sure miss my jawbone band right about now!

I agree! Did this ever happen?

Nope.  After several notes going back and forth (they couldn't find any request for daily steps).  The response was that they were always looking at ways to improve, They said they would review the request, my response that 5 years of request is not reviewing, it is ignoring.  No wonder their stock is down.  Older users=different options.  Not all of their users are in their 20's.  I have been sick and my kids would have know something is wrong with my daily count going from 5K to 300.  I keep sending tweets to CEO, surely he has parents or grandparents.

I bought a Fitbit in December (changed from the UP band) and I'm not in love with your App. I no longer have the option to see my teammates progress/daily steps (without doing a challenge), so we can't motivate eachother to get moving on a sluggish day. With my besties, I would even share my sleep, on UP, but I had the option to make sleep private to some, but not on FitBit.

Could y'all change the App to give the user the option on what they'd like to share. Or maybe this is an option and I just missed it?

I HATE the acculamitive 7 day total. I'd love there to be a choice from daily weekly or rolling 7 days.

I want to see what my friends are doing in the day and not try and figure out an estimate. As they are with me too.

There are thousands of requests and fit bit hasn’t replied or changed this. I guess as long as everyone keeps buying them they don’t care. It still disappoints me. Unless this changes I won’t buy snatcher Fitbit and I make sure I tell people you can’t see friends steps unless you join a challenge

I have mentioned this before with no real interest from Fitbit.  I would like to see the daily step count of my friends and not have to wait a week to encourage.  No, I don't want to do a challenge or whatever.  We are friends on the dashboard and I just want to see.

I would like to have the option of seeing a friends daily step count.  My brother and I are older and have some health issues.  We encourage each other to get our steps in.  Checking each other’s daily steps could also alert us to problems.  For example if he has a lot of steps by 6:00 am, he’s probably had a bad night and I need to check on him.  Fitbit could probably use that as a sells pitch to the fast growing aging population.
