Integrate with Apple Watch

The options available for wearing your FitBit with business casual clothing is extremely limited. Please partner with Apple & allow us to use the Apple Watch to track our steps for a premium subscription. I love the APP & currently proudly wear my flex daily, but would really like the option available when the Apple Watch is released.

I agree that a partnership is a good product development idea, but that would potentially still strand other users. It would have to include the data integration across platforms for a solution that properly addresses the problem of switching devices, and naturally Fitbit would prefer we not switch.

I was prepared to continue to wear my Fitbit at night because of the ease of use for sleep tracking, but it's hard to keep a foot in both worlds.

I was also previously prepared to swap back and forth between Fitbit and my Apple Watch (if I'd had one earlier.) Without a common data platform, I couldn't do it.

I suspect it's more likely that someone will write an Apple Health/Activity data tool and put it in the App Store than the other way around. I'm sad to lose my Fitbit data, but at this point I don't see how else it's going to happen.

I wouldn't own an Apple Watch now if my Fitbit HR Charge hadn't continued to fall apart (I'm on my third one.)

I have loved FitBit for the past three years. But, I am on my second Surge. The band ripped on the first one. FitBit replaced it because it was under warrenty. But when my second one ripped, they would not (only 25% off on a new one). I do not feel like buying a new surge every 12-18 months (or using electrical tape to hold it in place). So, I went with the Apple Watch. I will miss my step dashboard (expecually with my dad) but cannot justify stayin with FitBit when they only offer a discount on a defective product. Would love a solution to use the fitbit app with the Apple Watch!

I'm using Apple Watch with Fitbit app but using sync solver it's not great but does the job

Thanks for this info. I haven't received my Apple Watch yet, and am still torn as to whether I want the Charge 2 instead. It's certainly less money, and I'm thinking the Apple Watch will be more bells and whistles than I need on my wrist. I'm hoping it will do the fitness tracking as well, at least. I, too, have had issues with Fitbit lifespans. So far they've been excellent at sending replacements promptly and under warranty. If the Apple watch holds up better, that will likely be the deciding factor.

That's the way I'm going at the moment.
Using the 2 sync solver apps.
1 to sync steps from Watch to fitbit app
With the other I sync sleep & weight back to health - I have and love Aria scales but there's no HealthKit integration for them either and I'm still choosing to used my Charge HR to track my sleep while my watch charges over night.
The major problem with this work around is that while steps show on the dashboard they aren't recognised in challenges or the leaderboard so I'm still not part of my Fitbit community which is what most of us are missing.
My weekly update was hilarious showing a very impressive step total at the top of the page but then putting me at #12 on the ladder when clearly I should have been #1. Screen shot and some iMessages soon cleared that up with my friends 😂
And every day in the challenges I notifies everyone that I've smashed my goal (10k) while showing my challenge total as a couple of hundred.
Sadly Fitbit's lack of input to this very active thread has me less than hopeful for a positive outcome so my friends and I are moving our challenges over to Stridekick - it's a multi-platform challenge app that's letting me play with my Fitbit friends without jumping through all the hoops. I set challenges and then the app syncs in everyone's steps from whatever device they're using automatically. Simple and seamless integration - Fitbit could learn a thing or two.

I'm still wearing a Fitbit One in my pocket to stay in challenges and a Charge for sleep monitoring but I won't replace them if they break or get lost and I'm incredibly fed up with my Aria scales which are wildly inconsistent meanig that weighing myself takes ages as I have to take about a dozen readings to get a sense of what's happening (the range is up to a few kilos so we're not talking minor discrepancies). I think I'll replace the scales with Withings ones if they'll talk to Apple Health (which I think they will); I like having the data in Fitbit but I'm finding it less importanat as time goes on.

No matter how many of us want our Apple Watches to be counted as devices by Fitbit, and no matter how daft it is that the iPhone counts but the Watch doesn't, I don't think Fitbit'll go for it which is a shame as there's actually a strong business case for it from their perspective in that it could be a way to greatly expand the Premium subscriber base (and as more people get involved with challenges and talk to friends then Fitbit stand to sell more trackers as well).

I would definitely be willing to pay premium for this feature! The app is amazing, and honestly I loved my Fitbit Surge, but I wanted more functionality out of my watch (which Apple offered and Fitbit doesn't). You have the ecosystem please don't kill it by limiting what/who you work with.

Please {PLEASE} create an Apple Watch Fitbit app. And if not, please let Fitbit pull my steps from mfp, so that I can continue challenges with my friends

Fyi, Fitbit does monitor this thread. I received a message from the moderator regarding one of my posts that they did not like. Apparently Fitbit just chooses to ignore this integration request.

Well Fitbit has a list of approved App they integrate with so why they can not integrate with the Apple Health App that comes standard with iOS makes no sence to me?

If you open the Health app itself there is also provided a list of Recommened Apps for work outs.

Examples:
Nike Run Club
Runkeeper - Track Run ( Jawbone trackers use this app also )
Nike+ Training Club
Runtastics GPS Runner
etc.

It would have been good marketing for FITBIT if the Fitbit app was on the recommened Apple Health list right...

I've decided to wear two devices as I love everything my Apple watch offers.  I just ordered the Alta as it is slim and will keep me involved in my Fitbit Community of Friends and Family.

I'm pretty bummed that Fitbit has essentially ignored those of us who would be willing to pay for an app.

That being said, I'm sure some accountants worked it all out and decided Fitbit stands to gain more in the long run by not doing so.

I'm officially out of this thread.

I bought a Surge almost 18 months ago, to track my pace/distance on my 2nd half marathon - love it.  only downside is, I'm now onto my 5th Surge, after Fitbit replaced it (due to damaged bands/screen stopped working due to condensation).  If this replacement breaks - then I'm afraid, I'll be off getting myself a decent Apple Watch Series 2 (infact, I think I've aleady talked myself into it).  ONLY thing stopping me ordering one now, is the lack of FitBit app - seems daft that there isnt one at the moment, esp when you can use your iPhone as a fitbit tracker too.

Happy to pay the 79p or whatever it is as a standard price for apps - even if its freemium and you have to buy the bolt on for some of the activity tracking (running, skydiving etc etc).  I bet you Apple developers would be prepared to work with FitBit to get a decent app out there

I think they are under the false impression that their hardware will grow In sales.
Their customer service has declined substantially in 24 months and their revenue has as well. They would be smart not put all their eggs in the hardware basket.
I don't pay for any apps but I would absolutely pay for a premium Fitbit app that allowed 3rd party trackers.
Their app is better than any other out there, why don't they see this and capitalize before apple or some third party developer makes something else and it's too late

I used to have a Fitbit and loved it, but was given an Apple Watch as a gift. I want to still be able to challenge my friends who wear Fitbit, but I can't because only like 1/3 of my steps are actually being counted in the challenges. Which makes no sense. People who want Fitbits are going to keep buying them. People who want Apple watches are going to get them. Just because you wont integrate them doesn't mean people will chose a Fitbit over an Apple Watch. You're just making a lot of people angry at you!

Please consider making an app for the apple watch that would allow tracking to be linked to the Fitbit app. I love that Fitbit tracks your steps and activity. I had a Fitbit Charge that I wore all the time, then I got an apple watch for Christmas and would love to still use my Fitbit app. I would even pay for an app that allowed my watch to sink with Fitbit. Thank You.

I think that fitbit should offer an Apple Watch app so that people with the watch can join the fitbit community.  They could offer the app for the price of the lowest fitbit device.  I think its $99.99 this way people can be in the challenge with their friends but wear the device of their choice and it would open up a brand new market for fitbit and get more customers for the company.

Totally Agree!!! I love my Apple Watch but the Fitbit challenges were motivating for me. I would definitely pay for the ability to integrate my Apple Watch with Fitbit.

I'm with everyone here. I own a blaze and a Apple Watch I got for Xmas. I can't wear them both without looking like a fool. I still want to participate in my Fitbit community. I'd totally pay for integration. Make it happen!

Good grief, yes! This can't be more than a week's work in Silicon Valley! Why force your users to wear two devices? Let the Apple Watch synchronize steps for the Fitbit app. Endorse the movement!

We are literally saying take our money for some sort of app integration. Do it. Take our money already!! Lol

Are we any closer to being able to use the iWatch with the Fitbit app?

Yes..  If they would just create an app that would allow other devices to sync with their app and charge $9.99 for it, they may be able to stop their stock price from falling.  It has gone from $20 down to $7 in 1 year.  They need to do something fast to try and stay afloat.

Would love Apple Watch :watch:️ integration! My wife and I have to wear both devices just so we can join the Fitbit challenges with our friends.

If the reason your not integrating is because you think it will stop people from buying your devices, you are wrong. If anything, it will introduce more people to your devices and give them alternatives to the very expensive Apple Watch.
