Integration with Google Fit

I'd very much like my fitbit data available in Google Fit. I use a different app for food logging, but Fitbit's step counter, sleep tracker, and aria are great.

If their data was available through the new Google Fit it would be fantastic.

So... This suggestion is 2,5 years old and Fitbit isn't listening?

This feature is the only thing holding me from buying a charge 2 😞

Agreed - integration is necessary.

I've lived with FitBit for a couple of years.  The Charge HR is great for casual wear and sleep.  I use the Surge for heavy workouts.  I now wear an analog smartwatch for daily/work wear, because the digital FitBit just isn't my style.  I've decided to use Google Fit to consolidate my data.  Give me Google Fit syncronization, and you may keep me for life.  If FitBit doesn't get on board very soon on this specific topic of integration with Google Fit, the I will abandon FitBit hardware and not look back.

This request has been open nearly 2 years now. Any update?

Either take our feedback seriously and implement this otherwise easy feature, *OR* just be honest with us and telling us that It is Fitbit's interest to keep the data within Fitbit's own walled garden.

Thanks in advance

C'mon guys it's either get Google Fit integration or ditch the Fitbit for something that will for me at this point. Please make this happen.

Yes, Fitbit integration with Google Fit.

Why isn't this already an option?

Doesn't our data belong to us (as you guys say in the Data Export area of the web platform)?

Intergrate with Google Fit. Android Wear is becoming more attractive day-by-day with its upcoming fitness features, and it supports Google Fit and Android far better than FitBit.

We must all be patient..

Fitbit doesn't want you to integrate your Garmin data into your Fitbit Dashboard because that would mean you continue to use the Garmin device.

Fitbit is a company that makes money through selling hardware, and they have bet on the fact that they will eventually replace your Garmin.

If New Balance can make a running watch, Fitbit can make an even better one. We were teased with the Surge, but that was years ago now.

Fitbit might of been a little delayed and distracted recently with the recent acquisitions, but they are still proceeding with the plan that they will replace your Garmin running watch.

I hope this becomes a reality soon.

Fitbit will never convince serious enthusiasts that their hardware outperforms Garmin, and I think they know it.  Their ecosystem and devices scream of "hobbyist" and low intensity users.  Garmin encompasses the full spectrum plus serious investments into devices that aren't wearables (i.e.-cycling computers, etc)

Just discovered this workaround.
https://www.fitnesssyncer.com/

Seems to get the job done, if you can accept another third party app having
access to your Google account. There's also an Android app in the Play
store.

But does Fitness Syncer actively transfer data between Google Fit and Fitbit?

I've tried it, and it seems to only congregate Google Fit's data and Fitbit's data into itself without updating either source. For someone's that not looking to have another fitness data hub, this doesn't solve the issue of the lack of Google Fit support.

Three years, 1504 votes, 22 pages of comments, multiple hardware releases later...

... Still nothing? Dead silence? Come on, Fitbit.

Leave negetive feedback in the public domain and they reply and tell you to come here and vote.......

So it can be ignored !!

+1 for support to google Fit

I'm fairly certain with Fitbit buying things and ignoring our requests that
they have zero interest in working with Fit. Posting on the app page gets
you a canned reply telling you to come here, where you're ignored. HR2, we
were so close.

I wrote a review of the Fitbit app in the Google store and have it one star
for failure to integrate with Google fit. I'd encourage everyone to do the
same making sure to mention the failure to integrate.

I followed suite, SurvivorsEdge.

If they're not going to integrate something that we as a community are asking for, then it should come with consequences. Maybe that will wake them up.

Doing the same on Amazon for their product will REALLY rock their boat, and
would be a legitimate complaint if function. Fitbit us losing money right
now, and it is failure to give the customers what they want.

Looking at the iHealth integration suggestion (with currently 4342 votes), I think we can predict what's going to happen:

  • Once this suggestion reaches the top, it gets hidden from view, so it doesn't appear as one of the most wanted features
  • The status probably changes from "Reviewed by Moderator" to "Under consideration" for another few years
  • Moderators assure everyone, that they notice the demand for this feature (yet them being moderators (not devs or management), they can't do anything about it)
  • Google Fit integration is never coming.
SurvivorsEdge

So write 1 star app and Amazon reviews, or give up.

Whelp, then unless Fitbit starts giving us what we want, then my next device will definitely not be a Fitbit.

Android Wear 2.0 just game out; maybe OEMs utilizing that software will start offering fitness based wearables.

+1 we need this!
