Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

I have hundreds of unsolicited and useless comment notifications, cluttering up iPad and phone.  Time now for FITBIT to take action

I just tried this I will know later today or tomorrow if it worked. At any rate, thank you

I have not gotten that red dot since I turned off the notifications. Getting rid of the old ones is not going to happen. The moderator,Liz, says they are only considering deleting messages and not notifications.

What if we remove the app from the iPhone and then re-install. Will this remove the thousands of messages that are now on my phone?

There are several threads with users complaining about the in-app notifications and I am one of them.  To me, they are absolutely useless.  We want to be able to delete them (with or without reading them).  I know each message is small, but it is still data clogging up my phone.

Now if the notifications and messages are kept on the server and are not on my phone, that only makes it a little better.  I am not the only one who wants to make these go away.  They are either clogging up my phone or clogging up your servers.

Moderator edit: Title for Clarity

Darn tried to remove the app from the Phone and they all came back when I re-installed:-(

I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work. I suspect it could if you change your account information (set up a new account). I haven’t done that, however. Good luck. Ilene

No, but you can stop them from coming to your phone, pad or pc.

Log in on the web not the app click on the gear in the top right and then open notifications and turn off the ones you don’t want. I haven’t gotten any since 11/11/17. Of course I can not delete any before that and it appears that our Fitbit moderator,Liz, will not listen us!

There are multiple issues with Fitbit charge 2.

A. Silent alarm too weak and stays very short. It should stay longer and needs user to deactivate the alarm.

B.  Message display duration is too short. Before you try to look at the message. The message is gone。

These complaints started in 2016 but Fitbit still has no intention to fix these issues. Very frustrating. Slow yo cistomers’ Response to improve product functionality.

I had been using Fitbit HR. It broke and recently purchased a Fitbit Charge 2

Still within my return prriod.

I agree. Pleeease let us delete all notifications easily in our Fitbit app. My phone is running out of space so being able to delete anything no longer needed will help.

I am also short of space on my phone. I have turned all notifications to the phone off now but I have 3-5 per day since last March.

This is just silly why any company does not understand how it is adversely effecting it’s customer.

Please allow deleting! Notifications and messages should have a delete option.

I agree. Very annoying!  And they DO NOT come off after 30 days as Fitbit claims. I have notifications dating back to June 2017, it’s Feb 2018 now!

Yes. I got over 100 going back to August. Very annoying.

We seem to be banging our heads against a brick wall - perhaps the truth is, they are unable to provide the software to facilitate deletion- To me, it is inconceivable that such a large company chooses to ignore us, and continue to carry on, as THEY want without taking note of what WE, the customers, providers of their income, require

Except not to purchase another one or stop using what you have. I do not recommend Fitbit to anyone who asks and people do.

As a business owner I simply cannot comprehend why Fitbit will NOT do ANYTHING to address this issue! Is this company run by **ahem**s or don’t just don’t care what their customers want?

The former and the latter!
