Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Nice thought, but they won’t beg us to return. There are plenty of people to replace us as Fitbit consumers. As an aside, I’ve spoken with a few Fitbit owners and tell me they don’t check the app and therefore they never check the notifications!

I would like to see that when I read the text on my fitbit, the message notification will erase from my phone. It is extremely frustrating when I have looked at all of the messages on my fitbit, and my phone is cluttered with "___ unread messages". 😞

Goodbye.  I'm deleting my account.

They monitor these posts, right?  Then why don’t they respond that they’re working on a fix?  It would certainly eliminate 90% of the posts on this topic. I don’t believe they’re working on this.  If they are why not put it in writing.  This customer service stinks.

We’ve heard that before and nothing changes with the notifications/messages.

Hallux,
I agree with all your suggestions. However check out the date of the very first complaint concerning notifications/messages. No changes since we started complaining, so don’t be surprised if nothing changes after the next update. I certainly am not expecting any.

At present we are advised that any private messages received, will automatically be removed from the app within a set timeframe, however, I (and I am sure many others), feel that this is a basic feature that needs to be implemented to allow us, the consumer, to have full control over our message inbox and ability to remove any messages that we choose too, as and when we choose to do so.

I, for one, like to keep my inbox clean and tidy and seeing messages just building up is rather frustrating.

Unfortunately, it seems that a basic feature like this is not there for us to use, when the rest of the app is superb.

Could this please be reviewed and out forward for implementation?

Hi @AlexandraFitbit,

thanks for this, I appreciate the merge. It is a shame that there have been over 700 votes for this suggestion and many of us with the same issue and since July we haven’t had any feedback whether this will be something considered or not 😞 would anyone be able to give us an update at all? 🙂

@SunsetRunner  if you've read the terms of service for the forums, they want to keep threads on topic. If your post didn't have anything related to the subject, then they often removed it. I've had posts removed myself and it's part of life on any internet forum.

It would help for this long thread to be more on topic, so a new person reading it wouldn't have to go through all the irrelevant posts.

Hey Hallux,
I hate to tell you this but sarcasm will get your post removed too! That’s happened to me before. But Fitbit and everyone associated with Fitbit is just incredibly and spectacularly wonderful. Oh and by the way why Hallux?

Since FItBit is such an amazing and wonderful company, would you grant your loyal customers the favor of a reply?  Will FitBit ever address this issue?

I should add a favorable reply. Since Fitbit is so gracious to their customers, positive action on this subject should come shortly.

Too late!

I gave the FitBit Company a year to fix “their” issue and now I have an Apple Watch Series 4 and I LOVE it!! I put my FitBit on a funeral pyre and lit the wood!

I’m giving them until Black Friday and then I’m going to go buy myself a Xmas present. Hello Apple?

The great and powerful Fitbit moderator's reply is deafening silence and profound apathy.
