Lock Touchscreen to Clockface

I'm finding over the course of the day and while sleeping my Surge's touchscreen becomes switched from the watch face to one of the other screens. It would be very helpful if there was an ability to hold down one of the physical buttons to lock the touchscreen on the watch face and repeat to unlock. This would prevent accidental navigation away from the watch face. Please consider adding this functionality in a future firmware update. Thank you.

Moderator Edit:

The latest Surge firmware update added a function which reverts Surge to its clock screen after 15 seconds. Some users would prefer to continuously view another data tile, such as Steps, Heart Rate, or Distance. This is no longer possible for more than 15 seconds outside of starting an Exercise log.

This existing Feature Request represents a good solution to the issue, and I encourage anyone who might be interested in this new feature to vote or comment in this thread.

I have this problem too.  Try flipping your Blaze around so the face is on the inside of your wrist.  Shouldn't be an issue for accidentally bumping the buttons there.

Not only does the screen not lock, you can't even exit that screen to go back to see what time it is.  Being able to at least return to the home screen seems like a no brainer.

I've had it 2 weeks, and am loving it other than this problem.  Please fix!

You can't go back to other screen but in a workout you can scroll between showing the heart rate, time, calories, steps etc. depends what workout your in as to what options you can see but I'm fairly sure time is always one of them

Excellent, I will check that out, thank you!

I've found the touch screen is being knocked during workouts. This results in workouts continually pausing and starting or finishing them all together! Such a pain especially when you finish a workout and realise it's been paused since the beginning! A lock for the touch screen or deactivation of the touch screen to start and stop the workouts would be a great idea. Stopping and starting should only be able to be done with a side button so this doesn't keep occurring.

I love my new blaze! However my last two runs my Fitbit paused my run. Can you please add the option on the next update to lock the screen while in exercise mode? Or make it so the only pause and finish are the actual buttons instead of the touch screen?

I was recently doing yoga and I'm usually in there for an hour, but when I finished my time had stopped. I'm assuming during one if positions my workout ended, which is super upsetting. So I checked again today and sure enough when my Blaze runs against the mat it takes it as me swiping. This watch is great other than not having a lock option. Please add this.

Would be nice to be able to lock the up/down buttons while exercising. I am always pausing and resetting my tracker during my workouts. It would super easy to program the mode button to lock everything where it is when pressed for 5 seconds.

I know that I can't be the only one that is getting frusturated with this.

I'm also considering returning this and buying an equivalent. I was happy with the HR and so thought I'd upgrade to this. I box and play hockey and my sessions are continually knocked off! It's a waste of time really. Very disappointed

100% agree that it should be a user selectable option.  Either through the app, or in the settings section. I think the settings section on the fitbit itself is the best option.  Right under "Quick View" add a "Return to Clock" with an On/Off just like "Quick View".

@rickseiden that would be the perfect way to do it. I would have it set to off since I rarely look at the time on my Blaze. It's always on the "Today" screen.

When I play ice hockey the glove stops my exercise. Lock screen would be great

Please do add a lock screen feature for Blaze. This lack of feature is getting frustrating!

I agree with the suggestion that stopping and starting should only be able to be done with a side button.

Must be implemented ASAP!! I've had my tracker for a few days now and my workout has been paused each time I've used it! Sometimes it'll get paused several times during a workout. Very inconvenient, huge hassle. The workout should be paused or finished by holding down a button, just like the charge HR. This wasn't thought through very well when designing. Debating on using charge HR for work outs until this issue is fixed. Either that or returning the blaze all together. Please please please fix!!

Return it.  I waited too long and now I’m stuck with mine.  They haven’t even given any feedback in the least in the several months since I have been trying to contact them on this issue.  I very much doubt that they even care about this situation.

I agree! Return it. They keep telling g me to vote for it and it will get changed. I did, still waiting and now I have a $250 paper weight on my arm that I can't return. I can't believe no one tested the exercise feature on an fitness tracker. Any testing would have exposed this flaw. Voting and complaint does nothing on her. I started a thread on being able to customize the water bottle sizes over a year and a half ago. So many post and votes for it I lost count.....still nothing from Fitbit..?????

At this point, I have to concur with the others - if it's not too late to return it, do so.  The Charge HR doesn't have this problem, and this problem makes the Blaze a non-starter for a large number of exercise routines.  I had hoped that Fitbit would be more nimble to respond to major issues like this with a software update, but they have disappointed me.

I have had similar issues as well. Please add a lock screen feature.

Restarted my Insanity activity twice yesterday, didn't know why. Woke this morning to find the Blaze 4 screens in the menu system when all I wanted to do was check the time.

It does amaze me how such wonderful technology can be created, yet such a single issue is so easily overlooked! This applies to so many products these days, not just Fitbit.

Definitely want this feature. It's the only thing that's bugging me about my Blaze so far.

I bend my wrists a lot for work and I keep bumping the buttons with the top of my hand. I already turned off quick view because I knew it was a huge battery drain (at least with my Charge it was), I just didn't expect to hit the buttons so much -- which also drains the battery a ton with the screen coming on all the time.

I also find that I bump the buttons in my sleep, and I'll wake up and check my Fitbit and see that it's 4 screens over, instead of just showing the time.

I really hope they implement a lock screen feature.

Please revert back to the lock screen feature on F/B Surge  🐵

Please add a lock screen for workouts or make the buttons the only way to turn off the workout! I got my Blaze for Father's Day and have had a bootcamp workout and a 2 mile run and have had the workout pause during both activities. So far this is the only issue with an otherwise cool and fun product.

Thank you!
