Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

this is the primary issue lately - the FitBit app stopped working on
Windows computers this month, much to our dismay. I was diagnosed with
Type 2 Diabetes last month, so tracking my diet and exercise is more
critical than every, and I am stuck with my phone's tiny screen. Not happy.

I am guessing that the answer to the main question in this thread, "if enough of us protest" is "no". I haven't seen any response from the company indicating they will turn back on the web based Dashboard. I have already moved on to the other fitness tracker which has a very robust web interface and many more options for wearable tracking devices than Google/Fitbit.

Supporting existing customers in the way that they have been using the company's products and services is clearly not a priority for the Alphabet corporation. Much like some other tech company's, if you don't do it their prescribed way then, in their eyes, you are just doing it wrong. Get on board or you're just a "loser" and don't get to be part of our "community".

I am glad I have another option with that GPS company. All the trainers I follow wear their watches anyway. Probably for good reason.

Fitbit is over, at least for me.

I can 100% guarantee that if the web browser dashboard is not reinstated I will be switching to a different brand of tracker. A web browser component is a requirement for me. Google, why have you not responded at all to these concerns?

I literally hate you for taking this tool away from me.  You serve the Dark Side now.  Google is evil.

I share the sentiment. Pretty ironic too.

It is too difficult to see the detail on a small phone screen. Please bring back the PC dashboard.

I, too have used the Web-based Dashboard ever since I began with a ChargeHR many years ago.  One of my most important reasons is that I DO NOT HAVE A SMARTPHONE--only a laptop with which to interface my Charge wrist monitors.  Without the Web dashboard and interface, my wrist monitor will become a glorified wristwatch/pedometer until its buffer overflows.  Then it'll be totally useless and I'll revert to a Timex IronMan and say AMF, Google.

It is not clear to me why we cannot have a website dashboard along with whatever updates/improvements Google wants to make to the mobile app. For many users, the small mobile screen is difficult to read/navigate; additionally, [and I have not seen this addressed anywhere], users who do not have a mobile phone are left with nothing to support their use of Fitbit. It certainly seems to me that there is room in the Fitbit universe for both support systems. It is obvious by the number of comments that have been made that the website dashboard is vitally important to many Fitbit users; the "justification" for removing it simply does not make sense especially when one would assume that Google would want to do everything possible to support their Fitbit users.

Bluestacks looks like a good work-around but when I try to sign in with my
Google credentials, I get a message "Something went wrong. Please try
again." I exited the app and tried again several times but I can't get past
the sign-in screen. It won't accept my fitbit login because I transferred
to the Google login long ago.
Do you have any suggestions for signing in?

No matter how many "features"  you add to the phone app,  it will still have a tiny screen and a sorry imitation of a keyboard.   You are pulling the rug out from under everyone with less-than-perfect eyesight and less-than-agile fingers.

Bring back something usable on a PC.  If you really, really can't maintain a website (you're Google, how can that be?), then make a Windows version of your app that we can download like an app and run on Windows.

I even looked into installing an Android emulator on my PC so I could run the app there, but I don't have the time to figure out which emulator would actually work and whether it's compatible with my configuration

@RogerD445  Bluestacks is ok but found it to be more of a gimmick, Google (& phone companies) are working with Microsoft for apps to make cross platform use easier now, you may not need to use bluestacks, for eg using a google chromebook or something similar like on your computer running linux instead of MacOS Microsoft, etc allows you to run Android apps. I used Bluestacks years ago and have other ways to use apps on laptop when trying to use an Honor fitness tracker (my experience is most competitors didn't have the equivalent fitbit web dashboard) but stopped using bluestacks  and other fitness trackers because of issues like you mentioned and bought another fitbit solely because of the ease of use of the web interface. Login issues and also I worried about security using third party apps selling/accessing data. It's probably safe to use but I remember Bluestacks was heavy on the CPU load (makes your laptop hot/noisy).

It's the main reason why I stuck to fitbit and bought another because the web interface allowed me to login from various devices and open tabs, compare data easily between days, etc, all on a computer or laptop or even through the phone web browser.

We shouldn't have to find workarounds and other fitness apps to sync data to...

I got the newer Versa 4 to track more health things but losing the Bitmoji face is almost more important to me. Please work on Versa 4 and Sensa 2 bitmojis clocks for us.

It's abhorrent that Google can't figure that part out. In today's world, great software developers know how to design web apps that run seamlessly on both computer screens and phone screens. One would never expect Google, a software giant renowned for its websites, to fall short in this regard.

After more than 10 years as a fitbit user (even did research stuff for them), I can confirm that this is my last watch!.  I cannot click to see deeper details on the app (like sleep stages in a graph like we had) and now the dashboard is gone.  Disappointing is the least of my emotions.

There was no warning or option to download what was there before the cut off.  As someone mentions in another thread, most of us do not use the community daily - only when we need assistance so I was not aware of the change until it was too late.  I only wish I had put off "converting to google account" so I would have had a chance to download my data.

You missed the boat mate, they had this for yonks and it was removed couple weeks ago. It might be due to an update, not sure

The dashboard features in computer browsers (not on app o phones) were much more detailed and useful. The app dashboard you cannot see only some of the into and only one at a time. The fitbit community all want the browser dashboard back - at least most of us from the comments.

This may be a temporary thing, who knows how long it'll take to replace though.

In the product feedback section, there was an ongoing community thread request "Get rid of Adobe Flash Player from the website" where recently it looked like they actioned on it, maybe part of the process was redoing the website/dashboard. To do this, Fitbit probably had to shutdown that section of the website, dashboard.

I'm attaching a link, not sure if it'll link properly so you might have to search that thread in this Fitbit community section. "Get rid of Adobe Flash Player from the website"

Count me as someone who will be finding a different fitness tracker if the laptop dashboard isn't brought back.  I chose Fittbit because of the rich data that helps me and the phone app doesn't give near the resolution I value.  How hard would it be to simply continue the laptop app as-is?  I'm very disappointed in Fitbit and Google/Alphabet and will be talking to my friends most of whom are scientists or engineers who also value rich data rather than abbreviated/truncated data for steps, and heartrate.

I'm frustrated with not having the browser as well.  I'll be looking at other fitness/health watches in the future.  In the meantime I'm using the free Nutrition Program "Cronometer" that has a nice browser and app.  It's easy to log food and meal plans with great nutrition info.  It will also integrate in your exercise from Fitbit.  It's not as good as having all your nutrition and exercise info in one place but works for now.  I just wanted share with other users as a potential option.

I agree. They should not be rewarded for taking away functionality.

The first thing I did was cancel my subscription to premium service. I recommend this as a suitable response, one they'll understand.

I’ve already forgotten about the Google dashboard. MFP is sooo much better. The food database is more robust and it supports portions (huge huge time server)

Great Idea and i hope that it makes a difference and they bring back the dashboard but i highly doubt they will unfortunately they have made their Choice and do not care about us as a customer we are but a drop in the ocean for them and losing all of us would not worry them one bit

@grad73 if you are able to sync through your laptop, you are using an outdated, unsupported app to sync the data.
