Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

I have to say that I am looking for different alternatives since the computer website has been axed. I can no longer add my food in the usual, convenient way. It's bad enough that I can no longer sync anything with MyFitness Pal, but now, not being able to do anything on my laptop makes me seriously think about jumping ship. Anyone know of a god brand that also has a decent website for managing ones progress?

I completely agree. Not having a computer interface makes zero sense. Showing a 20 mile bike ride with my phone goes nowhere with my wife, but on a computer screen, she can see the details.

I second this emotion! The App has never been user friendly so I did all of my logging through the online Dashboard. The online Dashboard was also much easier to read and we had the ability to see drill-down details, which made it superior. As many have mentioned, the Dashboard was optimal for the vision impaired. The App also "forces" everyone to have a smartphone.  Guess the solution is for Google/Fitbit to no longer have access to my fitness/health data...

@malangali  I can't do the video with you, I'm sorry, but I look forward to watching it once you're ready to show it. Please let us know here. It's a great idea. Good luck!

I had to stop using my Fitbit because the dashboard is no longer available. I don't bother to wear it because the other apps that connect to Fitbit just don't give me all the details I need so there's no use in keeping it on my wrist as a reminder of what a waste of money it was in the end.  I'm tracking my food and just not bothering with the rest until I get a Garmin.

@malangali I'm sorry I can't do video but I did just sub to your YT in hopes to see the vid once it's up there. I had no success with the disability support. They seemed more focused on the fact that voice input functions in the app rather than acknowledging how extremely difficult it is to navigate and input data using voice on a tiny screen. I hope you have better luck.

And now I've come to find that, since Fitbit pulled the web interface, it no longer sends email that the Fitbit battery is low.  It was just dumb luck that I happened to see the red light blink this evening.

The relevant setting - available now solely in the mobile interface - does report that it should send the email.  I'll toggle it off, restart the phone and toggle it back on to see whether some datum in the backend just needed a nudge.

I plan to report back presently as to whether the reset resolved this one issue among many.

Removal, by stealth, of the web-based Dashboard in Fitbit after the rapacious Google bought it, is the worst form of customer abuse. Years of painstaking data entry, since 2013, is now unuseable and worthless. The alternative path, data entry of food into a phone app is absurdly awkward. The best system Fitbit ever had in its original iteration, when it had a plug-in USB dongle. Fitbit's stupid and pointless innovations went downhill from there with each change. Now this is the pits. I regret buying the Charge 6 forcing me to join the rapacious and unprincipled Google, and so must a lot of other people regret the "update" to Google, because the product is tanking; it (Charge 6) is now being discounted 75% from its price a month ago. Fitbit will die because there are better products out there and the only reason people are still buying it is because of its legacy antecedents. Now that you have trashed the Fitbit customer base, you will suffer the consequences, Google. mark my words.

Can you export your foods and meals to MFP ?

This exclusionary decision on the part of Google has turned me into an EX-fitbit user. I hope they reconsider, but I don't have much hope ... and I'm not even sure how I would learn of that occurrence.

Is there a way to export Fitbit history to some other useable form?  I have walking maps of wooded areas I never thought to take a screen shot of.

Any ideas of suitable replacement for my Versa 4?

As an IT retiree, I'm at my laptop and two desktops almost every morning. I do not find the app very helpful after a workout, wanting to see not just my average HR but its max. The max is now no longer to be found. I have to guess at it on the tiny graph on the app. At least on my desktop is was more visible. The Internet web interface was simply a more user-friendly one. Again, this is just a cost-cutting rip-off by Google. I am now looking at other trackers (Coros Pace 3). Not sure if it has a web interface. If anyone knows, please reply.

I'm not sure about MFP. Just two days ago I started using Mynetdiary. I was
able to link it to Fitbit. All of my data was imported, but the food.
However, Mynetdiary has a browser dashboard that is great and a food
database that is huge. It was simple to locate foods and mark them as My
Favorites. Both the app and the browser have the capability to create
custom foods, meals and recipes.

Must have the PC based  web interface. Phone app does not have the 15 min resolution on steps. Phone app (android) crashes when drilling down on exercise details. It does that on my other phone also (different manufacturer, different rev Android).

Like the others commenting here I will be done with fitbit unless the webb app returns.

the thoughtless changes at Fitbit since the google transition are unreal.  take working popular features and get rid of them, why? to push everyone to the now quirky app?  when it's time to replace my Fitbit, i will be looking elsewhere for sure.

Totally agree with all comments about restoring the web platform.  The ease to add & track meals - adding each food item, correcting the nutrient information when the default is incorrect, adding my own items not found on the app, etc.  I'm better off with Cronometer or even MyFitnessPal.

As it is now, the only good thing is counting steps and analyzing my sleep.  It does me NO good to track my calories - only expended.  I'm interested to know how many customers you're losing because of this decision.

I too, am very disappointed in the product "updates" since the Google purchase. The phone app was always 2nd rate when compared to the on site dashboard. Not only has the on site dashboard been eliminated, but the new app is a disaster! I have been having nothing but problems with the recent app updates. I have contacted support (several times), but it seems as though customer support has no better idea of what is going on than I do.

I have been a faithful user for 8 years. I have loved my FitBit experience up until now. I have purchased FitBits for my children and I even bought the Kids FitBit for my grandson.  I have turned other family members and friends on to FitBit. Unfortunately, I will no longer be recommending your products.

In my opinion the sale of FitBit to Google was a disastrous move. I almost feel as though your pre Google customers are owed recompense. The terrific product, with all of the features, that we purchased has been reduced to a subpar imitation.

Totally agree—losing the desktop option is a big deal for many of us. Hopefully, they take notice and business 2 bring it back if enough people speak up.

Since Google now owns FitBit it makes sense to me that FitBit maps should be viewable in Google Maps.

I have been using Fitbit since 2011. If Google doesn't put the web-app back into operation, I will be looking elsewhere for my fitness tracking. It is amazing that the Fitbit company, with modest resources had no trouble maintaining phone apps and the website. But Google, with its VAST resources cannot seem to afford to maintain what's already there.

Has anyone successfully run the Fitbit App on a Windows machine?  It would still be the same lousy app, but it would at least have a real keyboard and hopefully a larger window

Sorry to tell you, but it has been about 7 years., maybe longer, since there has been any update to the web dashboard..

@NeesWebYes.  It wasn't the easiest thing to figure out, but it can be done by installing a thing called Bluestacks.  But Bluestacks isn't able to use the computer's bluetooth, and that means you cannot sync when running the app this way.  The workaround is to use the app on a PHONE for syncing purposes only.

Carb Manager is a much better food logging program. User friendly and
stmyncs with fitbit.
