Maintain Fitbit web dashboard going forward

As an older user, my eyesight and hand eye coordination are poor. So, I prefer the website dashboard on my PC. That dashboard keeps directing us to the mobile app. Please assure you will continue maintaining both as I cannot rely solely on the mobile app. Please consider all of your customers when providing tools. Many thanks!

THIS!! The dashboard provided me with all the functionality one one screen which the app does not. I am most dissatisfied, almost to leaving Fitbit, especially since my Inspire 2 has a display to dim to be seen in daylight

While I don't log into the dashboard on my pc all the time, it is easier for me to navigate and find areas that I want, than on the phone. Also, I have trouble syncing my phone and my sense. Never seemed to be a problem with the pc version. I have been a loyal Fitbit wearer since 2013. I have gone through a few zips and now own the sense. It seems the more the company tries to move forward, it leaves some important areas behind. I liked the zip for the size and the fact I could clip it to the waistband of my pants or pockets. The sense is nice, but I find the watch to be counting "step" when working in the kitchen. I work in a restaurant, so that can definitely skew my step count. (Chopping lettuce for 3 hours basically standing in the same spot= over 15,000 steps). I do believe the monitor I buy after my sense dies will be another from another company. Listen to your customers.

Sarah

just a reminder that chopping lettuce is an activity that will likely
raise your heart rate and therefore count as a "step". It does not require
that you always use your feet to gain credit for movement and exercise.
Afterall, some people cannot walk at all but are in competitive sports.
They get "steps" too!

Was so pissed when Google axed the web interface... I used to leave a tab open at work and log my food throughout the day religiously.  Having to grab my phone, get on the app and slog through entering manually saw my compliance with logging drop and then the eventual weight gain. 😞  I came here to see if the situation had changed any and sadly.. it has not.  BUT... I found this:

You can use the alternate dashboard at https://dashboard.exercise.quest/ to generate all of your reports for your health plan.  On the history tab, there is a download button or you can capture a screen shot there as well.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for whoever is managing this!  I now have a nice big dashboard back that I can customise AND I can enter foods although obviously they do not have the huge food DB that FitBit does so it seems a food has to be in your recents to log it properly.  I'm also not sure if this is 2 way or one way - in other words does stuff entered here flow back to Fitbit?  I will be curious to learn that but this is an AWESOME START to replacing the functionality we lost on the web.  BIG PROPS TO THE GENUIS BEHIND THIS SITE!  I bet there would be lots of people who would pay $5 or $10 a year to have a capable web app like this. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

Rumor has it that website will be going away next year.  I hope that rumor is false, but until the developer expresses confidence that it will remain up after Google cuts the connection from Fitbit, it's doubtful that it will exist much longer.  In the meantime, I'm using it too.

Fitbit, you are now putting your users at risk.  They are searching for alternatives and i see websites popping up offering this service if they provide their Google credentials i.e. the same credentials that we access fitbit..  If google cannot develop and support a simple web view then it is because you have decided not to.  It is not that difficult to develop nor support, the code is there..developed by fitbit originally.  If we get hacked as people provide their credentials to a 3rd party ..it is totally on you.

People on this thread.  Please do not give your credentials to anyone!!!

@amoquod I don’t agree with your stance on the 3rd party web dashboard.  It is only a pass through and the login process is for Google/Fitbit to authorise this page to access your data not your login details as far as I am aware.  According to the developer notes for the dashboard it only accesses the data and does not keep a copy of it and is just used  a display option using the very same developer apps that Fitbit / Google use for their less than perfect iOS and Android Fitbit Apps. It was just fantastic that someone was able to develop this dashboard and allow other Fitbit users to use it at no cost given that it is really useful for some people especially where they have vision.issues.

With Windows 10 being done this year, I had to get a whole new PC because my old computer was 14 years old and been upgraded to the max it could go, so it wasn't compatible to be updated to windows 11...

My fitbit Inspire HR is now just a fancy watch, my alarms are still set to feed my cats (because they have 3 meals a day as well) it still charges, as long as I get a look at it before midnight I can see my steps/calories burned but its not the same without tracking my sleep!!

Its' what I used to get my points with my employer for fitness programs every year that way I didn't have to input everything manually.

Because my points turns into money to pay the 10% of my medical bills that aren't covered by my insurance, it was very helpful even more so on busy days when I work long hours, I would just sync everything!

Lets just say you screwed up Fitbit, because I will NOT be ordering another one of your watches, I don't own a fancy phone to use your app, I still own a landline and have a flip phone for emergencies!

I am beyond pist off!!

Why? What is his motivation? Sorry for not trusting. And if it's that
easy why doesn't google do it so our data is not shared with another company

I also have alarms set on my Fitbit that alert me when it is time to feed
the cats. 😊

Another reason to keep the web dashboard is to facilitate data management. Many people relied on this in the past for reviewing annual health trends, and the old dashboard made it easy to visualize those trends across each metric in a way that is not possible on the device itself. The whole point of the app is to understand the data, and having a time-delayed, multi-step CSV download request as the only option, seems very 1990s. Google as a company has made tremendous investments in dashboards and analytics, and just a fraction of that competence here would make personal data management as effective as it is for their advertising and web traffic tools.

I know it's been a while since this change, but I agree 100%.  I've stopped tracking food altogether because it is so much more difficult to do so on the app.  It was so much easier to track food, activities, and correct mistake/make adjustments on the computer dashboard.  So very disappointing that Fitbit is alienating and ignoring a whole demographic.

And don't even get me started on how my Fitbit has really just turned into a step-tracker, and not even an accurate one at that (how does the Fitbit and my phone "sync" and still end up with mis-matched info????).

Exactly! I also feel as if my fitbit has been reduced to nothing more than
a pedometer. It is still tracking things, but I no longer have confidence
in the accuracy and validity of the data.

This is a really good point. A lot of people work at google doing data
analysis and they can't find a way to maintain the dashboard? Clearly this
was never a priority.

I completely agree with the many others who have written. I've had Fitbit trackers and watches since 2014 and have always been very happy until I migrated my watch to Google. Now my computer dashboard is gone and my stats are going to my gmail which I never use. I can't see things or navigate as well on the app and am extremely unhappy that I can no longer access my dashboard or account on the computer, which is much easier for me. I've resisted moving to an apple watch because I've loved Fitbit, but I am now reconsidering that decision since I have an I-phone.

You can get some of the benefits that the old FitBit computer dashboard had
by using the dashboard at https://dashboard.exercise.quest/
It doesn't have everything but it is a lot better than the app on your
phone.

I was given a Fitbit for Christmas 2010. Over the years, I bought 3 or 4
Fitbits as they broke or were lost. I always enjoyed keeping up with my
annual and lifetime steps on the computer dashboard. The phone app is not
as useful to me. The biggest disappointment is that there is no longer a
record of lifetime steps. I had over 30 million lifetime steps when the
dashboard was discontinued. I always wore a clip-on version of the Fitbit
because I felt it was more accurate. I lost my Inspire Fitbit last week.
Now that the computer dashboard is no longer available for Fitbit, I no
longer have a preference for Fitbit. I will survey the available devices,
make a choice, and move on.

I have been using both Android & FitBit for a long time, but the recent removal of the Windows 10 FitBit app made it very hard to analyze my data since the website is very hard & unintuitive to navigate, not to mention I couldn't find a place to view or synchronize the data anywhere, let alone analyze. Google seems to have this idea that we want to do EVERYTHING on our phones, which for many people is not true. When I first bought my first FitBit, it was simply because I needed a replacement for my watch, but after learning all the features it had I soon started using it for many more things. But now, I pay much less attention to those features, since they are much harder to use than they used to be. It also seems like there are an awful lot of links on the website that take you to the store, it feels kind of like they are getting kind of greedy trying to sell us even more.

Not to mention the loss of features with the webpage that wasn't added to the app.

It would be great to maintain the website for people with vision issues.
