Manual entry of Stairclimber (add floors/distance)

The Fitbit doesn't register floors climbed on Steppermills and Stair Masters.

It would be great if we could manualy add floors to our daily totals.

Obviously we are already adding steps / calories / active minutes from doing the exercise... just want to add the floors.

Thanks

Please make stairclimber do what it's built for! I understand the Fitbit calcs stairs by change in altitude. This setting should allow it to adjust for the static stair climber

Normally a floor is 17 stairs, but this sounds like a good alternative.

Reminder as for calorues, fitbit does not add any for stairs, but for the increase in the heart rate.

I would agree that there needs to be a way to manually log floors.  It's frustrating when it doesn't count and that failure leads to me wanting to remove the option to log them.  I mean why bother if it's not accurate.  Otherwise, alter the 10' to maybe 8'. This way it accounts for shorter ceiling heights in older homes.

I have a Charge 2.  I vote YES for the ability to adjust the floor count.  The floor count is usually pretty good but not always. I was not happy that it didn't count my trip to the attic, especially since I was loaded with boxes. Man Mad

New issue.... I drove up a very hilly stretch of road and noticed it gave me 56 floors!  I definitely feel it should only record WHILE you walk.  How else do you go up steps without moving.  (Because elevators, escalators and driving hills shouldn't count). PLEASE install an update for the users to manually adjust the floors!

Yes, need the ability to add exercise machine floors and take those riding floors off.

It's not keeping an accurate track at all. I really would like to input these manually.

I understand that the Charge 2 can not count floors traveled on a stair master. At the gym I attend, the machine tells you the floors climbed. It would be nice to be able to input the floors I have climbed in a manual input mode. The app could then apply this new exercise info into the calories burnt counter. Thanks!

Yes I do 100 floors a day on the stairs at the gym I would love a way to add them on the charge HR !

After fighting this battle for about a year it is evident Fitbit does not even pay attention to their own forum.

Using the climbing machine at the gym doesn't seem to be a recognizable source of flights climbed. There needs to be a manual way to enter stuff that doesn't register... for all activities.

Interesting. I hope they update these issues so we can have a more accurate reflection of our daily output. Take care. Thanks for replying.

There are now 186 comments on the ability to manually add/correct floor counts...  Can a moderator respond so we know there is a reason to come here?  That would seem an ample sample size to provide this amended stat.  Thanks!

The weather here is gusty with storms threatening. Apparently I went up 50 or so floors yesterday, without even noticing; today I've been up 12 floors while my Fitbit has been languishing in my coat on the back of the chair and I've been riding a horse without it. I presume it's something to do with the atmospheric pressure, but it's really not helpful when I'm setting myself targets, and apparently reaching them in the morning before I even get out of the bathroom. It doesn't help to add driving time if the imaginary floors have occurred when I've been out on a genuine - but flat - run.

It would be great if there was a place where we could enter our flights of stairs manually on the dashboard and/or the mobile applications.  We can set a goal but we can't record our progress towards the goal.  Kinda sad that this was asked to be added in 2014 and 3 years later in 2017 we have yet to see this SIMPLE feature added....  Give a developer 2 hours and this issue would be resolved.  Please get on this, since 3 yrs waiting is a bit much....

Thanks!

Is anyone from Fitbit monitoring this thread?? "Give a developer 2 hours and this issue would be resolved. Please get on this, since 3 yrs waiting is a bit much...."  and I've been one waiting nearly 3 years, my Surge is looking pretty shot and since there is evidently no customer input allowed and because I even added this to their other suggestion board over 2 years ago, I'm moving on to try another brand next. Thanks for listening (NOT) Fitbit!

I'll jump on the bandwagon. Please, please, please update  the Fitbit app/site to allow for manually adding floors climbed. I recently had to revert back to the Flex model (Flex 2 this time but also had original Flex) so I can no longer track floors (I'll use my iPhone for that now). This switch was not by choice but was forced due to the lack of durability of other models. My Charge trackers kept falling apart (Two Charge 2's and one HR) and I finally got fed up with them.

I found the Flex bands are more durable (my guess is since it's one piece), a little more sleek and I can jump in the pool with it on. One of the big drawbacks is I lose some major functionality (i.e., tracking floors climbed), which is not ideal since I take the stairs quite a bit at work and go hiking occasionally. We can add other things, why not floors ...

How long until we get this feature?

The Fitbit needs to find a way to track the floors climbed on the workout mode "stairclimber" and use them towards your total floors for the day. Today I climbed 210 floors on the stairclimber and not 1 floor registered. Can you imagine how frustrating that must be? I understand that it uses a change in altitude to register this but I'm sure there is a way on that workout setting to determine that "X" number of steps = one floor climbed OR so that you can go into the app after your workout and manually enter the stairs climbed during your activity. Etc - you finish your workout and your Fitbit syncs with your phone and you get a notification saying "Good job working out for 45 mins on the stairclimber! How many floors did you climb?" And then you enter the number

This would be a realy smal thing to update, only the -app and no need for an "firmware" update! Good ideá! 😄

.... And also one could but "10steps" = 1 floor or so? when you do the program of Stairclimber.

Anyhow a good idea! 🙂

I would love to be able to add floors to my count manually. I was away and when I got home went out hiking with my friend. My Fitbit was dead so left it to charge at home. I did 61 floors according to my friends fitbit and would have loved to add them to my count but there is no way. 😞 PLEASE ADD THIS OPTION!

Then when the clock can feel the steps on "Stairclimber" -program on Charge2, then one could put 10 or 15 steps = 1 floor ??? it might not be 100% correct but the user would get some good projection on statistic on floors.

Or as one said in a nother part of this forum... the Fitbit -app asks, after the training when you sync with phone automatic to ask the user..

- How many floors did you do in the "Stairclimber" -program??
And the user puts the number of floors.

The Surge does not count floors climbed when on a stair climber which is annoying as I will have done 144 floors and I get no credit. Also stationary bike no accurate steps.  Hopefully, this can be improved.

I feel your pain.  To do stairs I have to go to my Office building before or after the gym

It may be fruitless to add my request to the long list accumulate over the past 2-3 years, but I would welcome the option to manually enter the # of floors climbed. (I have a Fitbit One, and occasionally am not wearing it when climbing stairs.) The customized activity log requires one to estimate distance, calories burned, etc., but does not allow the simple fix of "add # of floors climbed." Please, please do add this capability.
