Manual entry of Stairclimber (add floors/distance)

The Fitbit doesn't register floors climbed on Steppermills and Stair Masters.

It would be great if we could manualy add floors to our daily totals.

Obviously we are already adding steps / calories / active minutes from doing the exercise... just want to add the floors.

Thanks

It matters not to me any more. I have put the Fitbit in a drawer. They clearly couldn't care less. Fitbit is like a subscription service. As long as they are adding more than they are losing (for now) they are happy.

For me, no more.

Richard,
So sorry to hear you have given up on it. I have become frustrated with the "pebble" as well. It no longer seems to record my sleep accurately. If I get up at 3 and work on the computer for a couple hours it will show I slept all the way through to 7 am. Also I have gone outside and busted my behind shoveling and toting dirt for over 6 hours and it says I was only active for 20 minutes!!!! Additionally I recently bought my mother one and within 31 days it quit working. She is not tech savvy so she is not up to getting it working again. I need the steps to keep me moving otherwise I would give up on it as well.

Thank you for your reply.

No, I have never gotten a response from fit bit

No update. Fitbit totally ignores its users. I give them ZERO stars
for "customer service". I don't think they know or care about what
"customer service" means.

No update, from my first, post on there has never really been anyone from fitbit address the issue and now 2 years down the road I don't expect them to show the decency to do so. When this Surge dies I'm as done with them as they have been with me and this issue.

I just activated my third type of tracker (Alta HR, after a charge HR and a flex) and was disappointed to discover it doesn't count stairs (understandable given the design that there wasn't space for the altimeter).

As many people on the https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Manual-entry-of-Floors/idi-p/145053 thread are saying, it would be a significant value add to allow me to keep track of my stair count over a day and enter it manually. I don't like seeing 0 floors on my dashboard, especially since I go out of my way to take the stairs as much as possible.

It would be great to have an option to add floors. I occasionally go hiking and forget to wear my Fitbit.  I can almost always find my total elevation gain,  but don't have the option to add those in "floors". MapMyRun, when tracking hike,  will transfer over calories and duration,  but won't sync elevation gain and millage.  It's a bummer gain 3900' and not get credit for the 390 "stairs ". Thanks.

The sensor can be both overly and under sensitive. Being able to manually add and subtract floors would be a huge boon. Using a driving activity to cancel them out is impractical. It would be nice to be able to add by floor or by feet/meters. Then you could include the altitude changes in your walk by using Google's data, add incline data from a treadmill, and and track stair master use.

That's is for sure. They are definitely not responsive to their customer
base.

This definitely needs added along with any other data you would be collecting throughout the day on your device.  when the blue-tooth fails to pair anymore and you have to wait on backorder for a new device. you lose so much data because the dashboard fails to allow input of floors and other things.  please add this.  i will lose 2 months of floor data while awaiting my new device.

Hello, I would like to see a feature on the Fitbit app that would allow a user to manually enter the amount of floors climbed. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 that is only a few weeks old and I've noticed it's not accurately tracking the floors climbed. For example, today I have climbed 5 flights of stairs yet my Charge 2 has only registered 2 flights.

Thanks!

I have to say I am disappointed at the lack of response to this feed.   I just got an Alta because the display on my One stopped working.  I didn't realize I was losing the counting floor capability.  While it didn't always work well, I climb stairs a lot and liked being able to keep track.  Therefore I add my voice to the group who would at least like to be able to manually enter the information.

I think it would be even better if we could indicate that we are walking on a stairmaster, and the tracker from that point until the end of the workout counts each step as a stair climbed.  This eliminates the manual entry. That or give the option of which we prefer.

Just stopped wearing it... If Fitbit isn't interested in something as minor as this after 3 years of what is supposed to be a public forum, how can I trust them to make sure their basic technology is even accurate. When it won't go above 125 heart rate when climbing a look long steep hill with a friend's old Garmin reading 150s+, (and I know I should be there as well) I give. Buh bye, Fitbit.

I made the mistake of jumping in the lake today with my second Fitbit.  I thought, well, there's my reason to upgrade to one that tracks swimming.  But you know what?  It won't be a fFtbit.  Fool me one, shame on me.  Fool me twice, I'm going somewhere else, to a company that responds to customers.

What are you going to use instead?

The misfit shine 2 (have one) or the misfit ray (gave one as a gift) give a
more accurate step and mileage count if worn around the ankle or on the
shoe. Even on cardio steppers. As a bonus, they run on standard
coin/hearing aid lithium batteries for months, so charging is unnecessary.
My fitbit charge 2 is mainly useful for notifications, and to track my epic
level of sleep deprivation (4h/night is apparently not acceptable for me).

I'm jumping ship as well-- to a company that at least responds.

Alternative tracker suggestions are welcome. 🙂

I haven't decided what I'm going to use instead, yet, but I do know it
won't be made by Fitbit. They have clearly demonstrated that they don't
care what their customers think or want.

I'll be researching similar devices from other suppliers, and I will
focus on their users' satisfaction with customer service as a major
determinant of which supplier gets my future business.

Hi @wcarlson and commenters, I understand you’re frustrated about the lack of response to this suggestion and that you would still like this feature. I wanted to let you know that this request has been logged but I do not have any more updates for you at this time. I appreciate that might be frustrating but this is on our radar and I will let you know any updates when I can. Thanks for your continued patience.
