Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. I truly like this idea. Can you share more ideas as to how this would work? or where the thermometer could be integrated to the device? We look forward to hearing what other community members think.
Hello @leear ! Thanks for sharing this suggestion, I moved it to this similar post so you can add your vote to it. Please keep sharing your ideas with us!
Looking at the lables for this innovation, it ignores the elderly, where personal temperature control is critical to health and well being and where the automated temperature regulation is a concern, with age related forgetfulness, Alzheimer's and early onset dementia.
How many times have you been at work or school or otherwise occupied and felt not quite right? Wouldn't it be convenient to glance at your Fitbit or access the connected app on your smartphone to see if your temperature was within your average ranges? Everyone's base temperature is a little different, but having an average would help to know whether or not whatever you are feeling in the moment was normal for you. I could be helpful to set up alerts that might let you know when you were inside a given range for purposes of fertility tracking or fitness goals or outside of a normal variance as a clue to potentially address additional factors. Now that basic medical care can be accessed online, it might helpful to be able to give a medical professional access to such tracking for help in diagnosis. If the online health provider can see that you are complaining of a given set of symptoms and exhibiting a fever, they could prescribe a round of antibiotics called into your local pharmacy which you could pick-up or have delivered while minimizing public exposure to potentially contagious conditions.
In the next watch upgrade/new model cycle I would like to see sensors added to monitor body temperature and the monitoring of heart rate variability. Not only would I like to track those values on their own, but they could be used to improve sleep tracking.
My recollection is that Bias Peak (before their big recall that put them out of business) had these capabilities and apparently the Oura ring can also monitor these.
this is a must-to-have feature! why is it still not implemented? it can bring whole new layer of data on top of training / health / sleep just name it! fitbit team you should release temperature sensor asap! 🙂
Hi @gsr-, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote! Here you can find an existing suggestion regarding heart rate variability.
Please add a basal body temperature reading to the female health tracker. Many women use temperature and other signs to track fertility and ovulation to either assist or prevent conception. Fitbit could then compete with and even outstrip the likes of fertility friend by giving an accurate prediction of ovulation in a wearable tracker.
I think it would be a good idea to have a body temperature accessory on the Fitbit, I have recently been ill and had noticed my heart rate changes and would really like to see when my temperature is to high or to low, a forehead thermometer on the panel would work well, my email is chelseaforster1@gmail.com if you would like to talk any further on this. Kind regards.
Hi @Chelseaforster ! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similarrequest. Post a comment or click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
I know that there was a device on Kickstarter not long ago that was strapped on to the woman's chest and it would find her basal temp without waking her. One of the challenges I have as a mom is that I often have to be racing to the kitchen/kid/whatever before I even wake up, so taking my basal through a thermometer isn't working. I don't see why FitBit can't also develop (or work with this crew) to create this. Or have it also pick up the data and track it in the app.
I suffer from Cholinergic Urticaria, which is an allergic response to my core temperature being raised (examples are through exercise or being outside in the heat). Having a Fitbit that measured body temperature and was able to create a notification if it were raising, could help make the community of people who suffer from this more comfortable and better able to manage their symptoms.
It would be wonderful if the device measures temperature in case of fever but also to help young women know when they are fertile. I am not at reproductive face but it’ll be awesome to restrict contraceptives from our water. 😎 thanks.
Hi @Vicmarvictx, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. This feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post here. Don't forget to add your vote! I also noted that you mentioned a second idea. I ask you to post only one idea per feature. That way, we can keep the board organized and searchable. This makes it easier to know which idea other members are voting for. Here is the link for another existing feature suggestion regarding temperature and fertility: Add basal body temperature to female health algorithm
I think it would be very useful for the app if there was an ability to track basal body temperature.
Many women who are trying to conceive or naturally avoid pregnancy track their BBT through other female health trackers. It would be nice if Fitbits Female Health App could also have this feature instead of having to track in two places!
Hi @Sakora! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing. I've moved it into a similar request. Hopefully we will have support from other users since more votes and comments an idea has the more visibility and momentum it gains.
