More badges (Add badge ideas here!)

Need more creative badges and trophies rather than just the lifetime records... that could be more motivating.

Here are a few ideas:
- Badge for reaching 10000 steps for 7 days in a row, 15 days in a row, 50 days in a row...
- Badges based on active minutes/calories/kilometers
- How about some more crazy/funny badges like "night owl" for someone who regularly achieves a lot of steps at night, "out of bed" (same principle but for early morning), etc.
- Badges that reflect poor activity; for instance a badge if you don't reach 10000 steps/day once in 7 days, ...

I think that these are all ideas that could really enrich the experience of fitbit users by increasing motivation and I believe they are all relatively simple to implement in the Fitbit system!!

Yes, please add more Lifetime Climbing Badges.  I am a hiker so I like to go UP, and hit the Satellite badge in under a year.  (I have had it a bit longer than a year).  So more Lifetime Climb Badges please!

Also how about some incremental Floor badges?  There is a 100-floor difference between the floor badges, and that can be tough for someone who is really trying and wants to get to the next badge.  My best is 500 Floors, but I am no spring chicken and 600 floors is getting out of my abilities.  Not to mention running out of daylight hours, since it takes a looong time to hike 6000 feet on a trail (and drive to and from the trailhead, etc).

That would be like climbing Pikes Peak.  The entire trail is 12.6 miles long (that's just up) and has an elevation gain/loss of 7,510 feet.  One way to get 700+ floor badge. I did climb Pikes Peak years ago but FitBit wasn't even a dream then.....

If you guys create the badges I'll go climb it again (both directions).  You can name it the Pikes Peak badge.

To make it simple you don't want to win this one. Basically it will be a badge of shame. By being the person who moved the least "wins".

This is one of those ideas that gives lie to the term "user community." Its such a great idea, obviously many people like it, but FitBeta still doesn't implement it. Why? First, because it's beta. Second, but "user community" is something a for-profit business invents to make consumers fill like they are part of soemthing bigger than contributing to some corporation's bottom line.

Shoot, I voted for more badges, but the idea was posted years ago. Nobody's listening.

Howdy!

Nine friends and I love the Workweek Hustle Challenge. We rematch it every week and it really keeps us all motivated to get our steps. We taunt and cheer each other and work hard to get more steps when one is out to win a week challege. We all agree it would be neat for there to be a badge for the winning person that week and that badge to show up on our dashboard. People like winning and aside from bragging rights it would be neat to have some sort of proof that you won a challenge in the past.

Get us a winner badge, please. Shouldn't be very hard to do! Thanks!

Love this idea. The badges are like goals, so being able to earn them and know what I'm working for and knowing my progress would be great!

I echo many users wishes for more badges.  It seems once you get to around 5,000 miles, there is not much to look forward too, and after pole to pole, there is nothing left...If fitbit will have users support the product for decades, those milestones will come and go.  Add more badges, or even start a 'lapping' system.  ie, you have gone pole to pole, and are back around to 'Marathon on lap 2...something that illustrates how much lifetime progress you have really done.  Would be interesting to see all the work recognized.   Some new badges could be (Equator -probably double pole to pole), Maine to California, Something to do with Pacific Ocean, etc....I think you can fill in the gap to get some more badges after about 5,000 miles cause it goes so far.  I also think the 8,000 floor gaps between later badges in the cycle are too many...I would try to keep a new badge for floors at least every 4,000 floors once you start hitting the higher numbers.

Next idea, a badge counter.  It is cool to see someone get badges for hitting 25K steps, 30K steps etc.  It woudl be cool to see a counter by the side saying how many times.  What if my counter could look like 5K (x1500), 10K (x1000), 15K (x500).......40K (x4), etc.   I think it says a lot more about our activity if it counted how many days we hit certain badges so can see frequencey of hitting big numbers vs. just a one-off hit it and never repeat.

Also, in private groups you create (ie, if I wanted to have 12-15 co workers part of it and exclude other friends from my list since its work group related), define a dashboard that shows everyones steps, floors, etc....and a congratulatory message that gets sent to the whole group if anyone in your group earns a new badge.  (ie, Jane Doe in your group just got the New Zealand badge), so you can all have a reason to go pat her on the back.

Final feedback...been a user for just 6 months. love it, and I have many friends who also link up and love it...I feel you have just scratched the surface of what it can be...and can't wait to see where Fitbit takes it.

I really love my Fitbit, I now have my second Flex. I also love getting medals for x amount  of  steps, so many kms, but would like to see the progress I'm making towards my next badge. That would really motivate me to do a little bit more to get that medal faster.  A progress bar as mentioned in one of the comments would be great.  Keep on stepping

I love that fitbit now has customizable goals for sleep! Thanks for that. Besides my activity, sleep is something that is important to me and I always use my fitbit Charge to track it. Having now set goals and seen my patterns, over a short while, It might be nice to have some sleep badges in the future (unless of course they are there and I just haven't found them yet). Perhaps something simple, like for reaching your goal a certain amount of times? Perhaps something along that lines of "hey, you're getting better quality/quantity of sleep than before, good job" or something?

I realize sleep goals is a relatively new feature, but thought sleep badges could prove to be encouraging as my sleep is just as important as my activity. Let me know if this is already available and I just haven't gotten any yet. Thanks!

I would like to be able to create custom badges. We have many great social groups on FitBit- the ability to create a group challenge would be great!

@FitbitSupport @Fitbit! There should be a badge for achieving your goal 30 days in a row! My boyfriend hit his 16,000 step goal for 30 days!

If you have the chance, please email and recognize his hard work! I know he would really appreciate it. Email me for his email 🙂

I think that usto badges that could be set for groups of friends would be good. For example, if you set a challange for your group, so that you could all compete for them, and then another badge for anybody who complete all of the4 goals in a set period of time.

As a suggestion, could more badges be added for daily goals above 100K and even weekly goals. I believe someone could get 150K or even 200K steps in a day averaging 8,000 steps an hour (with no sleep).

Could you add progress toward next badge. Floors badge, lifetime miles badge, and so on. Thanks.

I have walked more then 110 000 steps in a day and over 1300 floors in a day. The badges I recieved are only for 100000 steps and for 700 floor in a day. Please create some new badges to support such activity. Thank you.

Special hidden badges for completing step goals, or other goals, based on interesting or famous locations. Such as 10K steps at Disney World, or 300 floors climbed at The Great Wall of China, etc.

@Pionsenay They normally only show the next badge in line, once you get it the next badge will show up. (I can't find a list of all the badges that are available.)

I love this idea! I love earning badges and fortunately have been able to find lists online of what the badges are so that I can see what the next one is. With these lists I know what I am striving to achieve next. However this only works for the steps or floors in a day. It would be great if there was a status or progress for the lifetime kilometers or lifetime floors so that you knew where you were at and how close you were to achieving the next badge.

I just climbed 1000 floors and am now dissapointed to learn that you dont have 1000 floors badge. Would appreciate if you can add 800, 900, 1000 badges. Also is there a limit steps badges too?

Stepping Up

I recently got the "New Zealand" badge and it reminded me of the Lord of the Rings and all the walking around New Zealand they did. I got to thinking if someone had actually calculated how much walking they did and apparently someone has: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/07/23/walking/

So, 1779 miles to get to Mount Doom (or 3404 miles round trip). Seems like a good milestone badge to me!

What badge can be earner after the New Zealand one?

This should be easy.  I looked through the site and found a multi-step way to get into a chart that graphs and states total miles per year, for example.  Because I started on Jan 1, 2015 that makes it very easy for me personally (at least until New Years!), given that FitBit is already keeping track of lifetime miles and using it in a chart, it almost certainly has an available API call.  And, given that the miles required to achieve the next badge for lifetime miles is a fixed number, it should be very simple to calculate the distance to the next badge without using too many resources on the mobile device.  It could even be a feature that is optional so as not to waste device resources on it constantly if you don't want to, much like All Day Sync is optional now.  But I agree with the other commenters that it would be nice to know how close I am to the next badge, because I like achieving the next level of progress, and it is currently making me crazy for example, that I am still stuck on New Zealand after all this time.  By investigating on the site, I was able to determine that I am indeed closing in on the next badge, but I almost never look at the site, and instead spend every day checking frequently with the app.  Lastly, I would just add that it is brilliant having the badges come at irregular milestones so you kind of have to work at it more than just getting them at regular intervals, and also that you describe them with something you can sort of visualize to get a sense of perspective on what the figures mean.

I oppose the idea of inactivity badges, I think it would be incredibly disheartening for some people (inc. me).

But I would like lifetime steps badges, & badges for active minutes & I like the idea of achieving something for x days in a row.
