More clock/watch faces for the Charge 3!

So, the Charge 3 is out and there is a huge let down:

There are only 5 clock/watch faces:charge 3 clock.png

Come on Fitbit...at least include all the Charge 2 watch faces too. We all loved the Charge 2 watch face with the time, date and the highlighted feature (steps/heart rate etc.)

Whats missing:

- Faces with the actual DATE and DAY

- Faces with a DIGITAL SECONDS TIMER

Or to say it again, just include the Charge 2 watch faces. Thanks in advance.

It's short-sighted on Fitbit's part, and a stunningly poor marketing plan, to "dumb down" (as one person said) the Charge 3  clock faces.

I love my Ionic, but bought the Charge 3 with the intention of wearing it as the "dressier" tracker and wearing the Ionic as the "sportier" device.  But the Charge 3 clock faces offered were so useless and overly simplistic that I returned it and now just wear the Ionic (which I still think is great).

Bottom line...in this case, Fibit's sales was 50% of what it could have been just because the downgraded software destroyed the upgraded hardware. Too bad, really.

It’s especially disappointing since their website advertises it as having customizable clock faces, which it doesn’t. There are 5 fixed faces to choose from, charge 2 had a customizable face, this does not. There was no indication on the site to lead me to believe this is a downgrade.

Customizable Clockfaces

With a variety of clock faces to choose from, Fitbit Charge 3 can be styled for any occasion.

The hardware is only as good as its software.

That is just the way it is...

this was their reply Thanks for reaching us, Ernest. We appreciate your feedback regarding the Charge 3's clock faces. We're happy to announce new clock faces that include the date are now available for the Fitbit Charge 3. To get this, you'll need to update your device, then access the new clock faces in the Fitbit app. You can update your device by following the steps at http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1871. If you have other questions, let us know.

These "new" faces were added several weeks ago in response to the first early complaints.   They were just slight redesign of the original Charge 3 faces, which most of the folks on these threads felt were of poor design.    The "Mod" style is very difficult to read - in low light, the 5 and 3 look very similar.      Repeated requests for the much asked for Charge 2 face design has not brought any further improvements.

That's fine I'm only relaying what they said to me I can't see myself yet as I still own the 2 I'm still waiting for my 3 to be delivered

I’ve been watching this thread for a while but now I think it may be prudent to contribute.

The new clocks are not improvements. Yes, they have the date which is what a lot of us wanted, but FitBit picked two of the most annoying faces to implement it on. What happened to the simplicity from the Charge 2? I just want a simple, none-flashy display with the time, the date, and my heart rate. Like the 2 had. It was simple, not artistic or fancy, and easy to read.

I’ve had my Charge 3 since the day it came out and I’ve got to say I wish I had returned it. Due to the nature of my work, I cannot wear an Apple Watch or any sort of device with listening or communication capability, so the Charge has always been perfect for me from the first HR. This is the largest disappointment I’ve experienced in a Fitbit product between the removal of the ability to customize screen options from the 2 to 3, the fact that you can’t remove female health advertisement from the watch display if you’re a woman (who, in the name of Frank, wants that info on a watch?!), and the lack of simplicity and functionality of the clock faces. I’ve never missed my broken 2 more and if this is the future of the charge, this 3 will be my last.

It was this thread that led me to contact fitbit here was my original question to them -

Hi I'm just looking at the review's of the charge 3 and have noticed a common complaint is that there's no decent watch faces that show the time and date? Seems odd not to include one's  like the charge 2 has considering the 3 has a bigger screen! Will an update add more watch faces? -

So I'm really disappointed the hear that they've chosen poor faces to update I will seriously consider cancelling my 3 order and stick with my 2 as I use the face with the time date steps and heart

Nice suggestion, thanks for sharing. We look forward to hearing what other community members think.  "

It feels like a "f*ck you" when posted under statements asking for features that have been promised.

Could we get a simple watch face with a normal time display and customizable stats, like we had with the Charge 2? As in a time display that looks like HH:MM--all in the same font/shade and seperated with a colon...you know, the way digital clocks have looked since they were invented. Who decided that Hours on TOP of minutes, or the weird offset hour and minutes were a good idea? Those are ideas a third grader dabbling in graphic design would come up with. No one has ever learned to read time that way. Why are you trying to reinvent clocks instead of providing the basics first?

And it's not just the clock faces. I'm baffled that this supposed "upgrade" is missing so many of the customization features that were present on previous devices. It feels like the Charge 3 was rushed to market instead of being fully developed before release. The hardware might be an upgrade, but the software is a major downgrade. If I hadn't already given my wife my Charge two, I would have returned the Charge 3.

I like the Charge 3, just got it this week.

My eyes aren't getting better but I like the analog clock, I would like the analog clock with slightly larger numbers for fx. the heart rate and the date, if there is no room, then just the clock and one type of data in a larger number. Then I would be able to read it, even at the end of the day when even my glasses are failing me. 🙂

Cheers.

Yes we need more faces. I'd like a face that shows time, date, steps and floors.  The time needs to be large and clear.  Let us customize our own faces.

This is stupid how I can get hundreds of replies this post each day. But no one can take an hour if that to update the app with some new watch faces. Fitbit you are really slacking here.

Really glad I found this thread.  Was planning on getting a Charge 3 to replace my Charge 2 on Black Friday.  With this face issue and the spO2 sensor issue still ongoing, I'm going to hold out until they respond with a fix.  It really doesn't make any sense to me why we can't have a custom face for these devices.  Seems like it would be so simple.

Dear Creators,

My subject is in all caps because it is very urgent! I just recently bought my first ever fitbit product and I am incredibly disappointed with the clock displays. All of them are useless! Is it too much to ask to have the date and day of the week displayed (not too large) AND to have a digital time. The current displays make you choose between date and analog display or digital display without date. It would also be great to have customizable faces, I would much rather have my distance displayed over my steps, but this isn't as urgent. All in all, PLEASE make more watch faces, customizable or community made displays could be a way to go  but so long as there is more variety I would be satisfied, I am currently considering returning the product because it feels useless as a replacement to my previous wrist wear

Could not agree more.  so HUGELY disappointed in their clock faces.  I find the fonts on most of the displays very distracting.  Just give me PLAIN font which allows more info to be included on the face.  Definitely loved the Charge 2 face with time, date, steps and heart rate.  All the main info I needed at a glance.  Don't try to get so fancy.  Did they not do sampling of customers ahead of time to see what features they would want to see on clock faces??  Seriously considering returning mine and going back to Charge 2.

They are pretty good with feedback though, at least they keep us updated with full details of how things are progressing.

Constant updates from all management conduits so we users know exactly what's happening at all times.

It's so good to be involved with a company that cares so much for it's customers ... isn't it ?

Not really.  Disappointed they have not had proactive anticipation of simple needs like this.  Very poor insight into their customer base.

There’s a new face in the clock apps called Step Date today (11/2). However, when I tried to use it as my new clock face it said it couldn’t be loaded on my Fitbit. I have the most updated software on my charge 3. Not sure why the face won’t upload.
