More in-depth sleep data analysis (eg impact of activity or HR on sleep)

Hi everyone!!!

Dear Fitbit,

it would be really nice if you could implement more functional sleep analysis. I ask/suggest/offer you to have a look at really interesting app (Sleep Cycle).  Sleep cycleSleep cycle

I am sure that a lot of Fitbit users would appreciate this kind of sleep information. Here you can see some examples but there is much more in it.

1 2 34 I am sure this kind of functionality would bring you more customers and more fun to Fitbit users. Thank you!!!

PS. I am really surprised you have not done it yet

Jawbone discontinued and exited the wearable market. So when you buy a
jawbone, the software will not be supported in the future. Fitbit
continuously improves the software. I would recommend the alta HR when it
comes out in October or the Blaz right now.

Those are great tidbits about your own sleep patterns.

For one thing I would be interested in being able to overlay my heart rate during of the sleep graph to see how it is effected. I some times have some pretty intense dreams that cause me to wake up with a bit of a high rate. It would be cool to have this information consolidated so I don't have to go back and forth between sections of the app and guestimate what was going on.

I have just read all of the ideas and suggestions about the sleep function of HR Charger. My wish is to see something more than just a blue block for time sleeping.. was that a block of 2 hours, 3 hours... was it 2-4 am or 1 -2:30 a.m. To have the hours across the bottom of the chart rather than just a start time and finish time and then litte bars of dark blue, light blue or red would really help me to see if there is a pattern of times when i am restless, awake or asleep.

Thanks.

I too would like to see expanded sleep functionality.

Please add the ability to wake up at light sleep cycle in a time range. Sleep cycle works great but it was one of the reasons I got the Fitbit.

I would love to have a comparison of my sleep cycle and my heart rate.

I would also like this data, please.

I too think the functionality could be improved. I woke up for it to say I walked 63 steps despite the fact it recongized I was asleep the whole time.

Hello

Is that it would be possible to indicate hours and minutes in the graphics sleep where we sleep, restless and awake, as well as the step where we made more, less or not at all?

Thank you

I agree, Fitbits sleep stats leave something to be desired. I had an Up and loved its sleep tracking. One stat I loved was how long it took me to fall asleep. This may be hard to incorporate into the Fitbit because there is no manual way to start a sleep mode.

I agree with premium we should have better sleep analysis.  The report export feature needs much improvement to include all data over a longer time frame.  You can do it for only 30 days and it misses so much data.  I would like to be able to be able to export over a longer period to see how sleep has changed or be able to show doctors if an ongoing issue.  The report export does not include time to bed, time to wake up, how long it takes to fall asleep, how long you actually slept vs time in bed.  Otherwise, you have to just type it up yourself day by day to be able to include all information. That makes premium not worth the extra cost.

I've been sleeping badly for a few years, though some nights are better than others. I was supposed to have a sleep study a couple of years ago but the waiting list was so long I had actually moved country before I even got an appointment. I would be nice to be able to overlay my heart rate with the sleep graph to see if there are any obvious patterns. This I think would be very interesting.

please add sleep efficiency % to mobile app so i dont have to dig for it on the website.  most users rely on their mobile app to quickly see info.  please add!!!!!!

PLEASE track sleep periods less than an hour. My sleep is really fragmented and I'm relying on the Charge HR to capture every little bit of it. It's REALLY frustrating to know I've slept for SOME unknown period of time and it doesn't get tracked. It would certainly make your product more attractive, as now I'm in the market for a device that can give me that data.

I agree. Let us set the minimum sleep period so that power naps are counted in the total, please!

I'm also disappointed that, after years of asking, sleep efficiency still isn't displayed in the mobile app. Sleep efficiency is one of the main reasons I got my FitBit in the first place and, by forcing me to dig into the website to find it, it's making it almost worthless. For something that is so fundamental to sleep and which should be so easy to implement, it's a real shocker to be honest. I am thinking of upgrading my tracker Next year but, without better software development and third-party (e.g. Google Fit) integration, it won't be another FitBit I upgrade to.

I would also really like this feature. I have came to Fitbit from the MS Band which already had this feature and I miss it dearly heart rate should be overlayed on sleep, steps and workouts. .. Make this happen!

Yes, I bought the Fitbit Charge 2 primarily because of the sleep tracking feature - otherwise I could have met my needs with a simple pedometer. I am really really disappointed with the general crappiness with the sleep data provided. I can't even tell at a glance how long I am going between wakings. It makes a big difference if the 4x awake are all closely spaced to when I was falling asleep or waking up, or evenly spaced through the night.

I too want better sleep data. I didn't buy the FitBit for a long time because the sleep data of the Jawbone Up3 is just so great. I see the total time spent in light, deep and REM sleep for each night; including my heart rate.

I really love these features of Jawbone and I really love the exercise features of my Fitbit Charge 2 - I now wear 2 devices on my left wrist. I'd like to only wear one but I don't like the sleep functionality of the Fitbit enough. AND the Fitbit Charge 2 is too bright. When I move during sleep, I get woken up by the sudden flash of light from the Charge. Not cool.

My solution? I wear the Jawbone to sleep and the Fitbit during the day. Not the best option, but it's working for now.

I'd like to see this too.  In fact I'd like to see as much raw data re: sleep as possible.  I find that the low sensitivity setting is completely wrong-- it will say I'm asleep during times I know I was up and walking around-- and high sensitivity seems like it might be too sensitive-- I recorded myself sleeping with a night vision camera, and I was completely still through long periods of "restless" sleep-- so I'd love to see the raw data so I can determine for myself whether I am actually getting sufficient sleep.

Heart rate is a big indicator how deep of a sleep I'm in, it would be great to see this overlayed onto the sleep graph!! Also would be great to capture average hr and show that in the analysis!!

And for the heart rate graph itself, please change the scale from 0-240 to auto range when you zoom in, it's ridiculous to have a scale by 40s when I'm between 60-130 in a given day!!

To Fitbit team:  suggest creation of a means of displaying heart rate as it varies throughout a period of sleep.  Heart BPMs are tracked continuously (by my Charge 2) and the only detailed heart rate information I can find in the Android app or website app are current heart rate, an indication of whether it is resting or elevated by exercise, and a graph of resting heart rate shown by date.  Having the ability to see how my heart rate varies during a complete sleep period would be very informative, especially if it could be correlated to the "restless" or "awake" periods that are presently displayed for a sleep period.
