Notify me on device when battery is critically low

There should be a feature where your Fitbit actually vibrates and notifies you when the battery is getting critically low. There has been several times where I've gone to the gym and realized it's either already dead or very close to dying and then dies mid-workout

I would like to receive low battery alerts by text instead of email.  I usually check my emails in the morning and seldom later in the day, so by the time I do check, my fitbit is ready to crash.

Please work on making alerts by text a possibility

Thank you...

Hi everyone, and thanks for sharing this suggestion. We’re very happy to let you know that this has been released. The device will not vibrate as this uses up more battery, but we've achieved this in various ways 1) a red battery shows through on clock faces on smartwatches when battery is low 2) Smart watches have third party apps where you can customize emails to warn you and inform you about battery (see this FS) 3) Fitbit automatically emails you when your battery is low. Please note that this will not roll out to trackers.

@1AmandaBee6 , in recognition of your excellent suggestion, each of your votes will now count as 5 votes – you have the power! Thank you for sharing your idea, and thanks to all the voters and commenters for your enthusiasm which has now materialized for everyone’s benefit. We hope you all enjoy this new addition to the Fitbit product or service! 😊

I have been frustrated several times when I receive a low battery alert shortly after leaving home for work. On the last occasion, my battery died about 6 hrs after the alert.

Being able to choose a longer alert window would allow me to set it for something like 12 hours, or 25% battery, long enough to finish my work day and return home before my watch shut down.

@MrShawn Thank you for your suggestion about having a programmable low battery level alert.

The ionic should alert me of low battery other than sending me an email msg.  Such as: Send a text msg or the ionic should vibrate or something.  Many times my ionic has been rendered unusable because I happened to not check my email inbox in time.  This is a real shortcoming of Ionic.

Hi @Pkt123, thanks for explaining why you would like to have this option. I've moved it into a similar suggestion which has been updated as "Released". You can learn more about here. Keep adding your suggestions!

This actually is very easy to do. I have fitbit send the low battery notification as a text then the text is sent to the watch.

Of course when the battery gets critical the watch does give a notification. Also when the battery drops below 30% the watch displays a red battery icon in the top left.

Thanks. How exactly (step-by-step) did you configure your iconic (and/or Fitbit app) to send you a text msg when battery gets below 30%? Fitbit customer support says it’s not possible. Any advice is appreciated.

First this request is for when the battery gets critically low, and this is now on the trackers.

My answer is about when the battery gets to below 30%.

As mentioned in my last post, i have set fitbit to send me a text message. Then i setup the fitbit app to send text messages to my wrist.

Thanks. Does this assume that I’m setting my ionic to constantly sync with my iPhone? I’m not setting my ionic to constantly sync with my iPhone because it rapidly drains both ionic and iPhone

No it means when fitbit sends an email or text message to you, the app will forward it on to the tracker as a notification.

There is no such thing as constantly sync, in that all day sync only tried once every 20 minutes. Hi think it is 20 minutes, but may be longer.
