Remove unearned step and floor badges

Recently, my family and I rented a bunch of Jeeps and took them over some mountain passes in the Colorado Rockies. It was an amazing time. I had my Fitbit with me.

The roads were basically constructed of boulders and therefore pretty ...bouncy. At the end of both days, my Fitbit had registered 100+ flights of stairs. The second day I got my first 150 Flights badge. I would love, love, LOVE to have the badges for these days revoked. I didn't actually earn them and I don't like the idea of having a badge I didn't earn. And 150 flights of stairs is a tough one to earn legitimately. 😞

Can you all implement a way on the backend so that users can petition to have unearned badges removed?

Another comment from me and vote number 66. It was apparently easy for the software coders to write a code for Fitbit users to delete a weight loss badge with a single touch/swipe. Just write that same piece of code for the floors climbed and distance walked badges. It's not that hard. It will make many people's lives better. I feel like putting my Surge in the bin. None of my 5 floor badges and only 1 of my 10 distance badges is true. It's disheartening. Fitbit is giving untruthful information. FIX THIS FITBIT CODERS. Please. For our wellbeing and sanity and make us enjoy our Fitbits again.

@111mastermind I assume your on a mobile device looking at the mobile web.. You have two options

go to your web menu and request desktop site.

Scroll down you will see Mobile | Full, tap on full.

Either way you will now have options to the right of your post, and the ability to edit.

I ahve a fitbit charge hr. I an happy with it but -

I am getting unwanted stairs badges whilst driving.

I see this topic has been going on for over 2 years.

How dificult is it to produce a remove function?

Ideas tp install drivebit - not available on windows phone.

Remove and charge fitbit whilst driving - come on!

Still not resolved - what's taking so long? How har can it be to add a recycle bin to the badges section? (You managed to do it for wheight, why not for steps and floors?)

After talking to customer service today about an issue with my fitbit (it was tracking a crazy number of steps all on its own - over 100,000 in 10 hours) that I could not delete the incorrect data (steps, calories, etc.) or incorrect badges that I earned because of the error.

There should be an easy way to delete data that was obtained due to a mistake - especially because this now effect all of my future legacy data (lifetime steps, miles, floors, etc....) and badges.

Deleting unwanted steps is not to bad, by logging the time the steps occurred as driving.  This however does not remove the falsly added badges.

My experience was that as i was on the phone with fitbit for 20 minutes i received 100K of steps

Same as others - Riding motorbike meant that I "earned" loads of badges I didn't deserve and also ruined two challenges that I had actually legitimately been leading in. Logging 'Driving' activity deletes from dashboard but does nothing to correct badges or challenges.

I am quickly losing patience with FitBit. This is the second long-running problem I've experienced in a week where the only solution is to post on a board for the developers to ignore.

This is not good enough.

Can anybody comment on alternative/competitors products? - What works well? What has similar problems? etc.

@ThisIsMyHandle my only comment woud be to do a search, every tracker on the market will record false steps when riding or driving, a vehicle that is bouncing around. Its the nature of the technology, and unlike some of the compition Fotbit allows you to remove the steps.

As for the the Badges, ive been assured by CS that this is indeed being worked on. I'm exited because, judging by some of the past updates, i think for a solution they have more in mind then we can imagine.

Hi Fitbit, do you have an ETA for this fix?

Yeah: the 35th of Nevuary. (Just keep buying our products. Stop asking questions).

@ThisIsMyHandle, I find your lack of faith disturbing 😉

I would love more than anything to be able to delete badges that have not been officially earned.

So would i, with an extra 11 unearned badges.. I've been assured by CD and several moderators that this is indeed being worked on.. As for ETA, Fitbit has never known to give details.. usually updates get added, then an snip cement is made.

So standing at the back of a 4x4, driving up a rocky road to a montain peak... has now earned me a 300 floors in a day badge, i most certainly did not earn, or am anywhere remotly close to.

Would love the option to correct it 😞

Chasing these badges has actually been a big motivator for me.

Has the ability to delete floor badges happened? I "earned" skydiver for 1000 floors and have no idea how. I never left ground that day. Have others that were due to riding on a bus. Would love to remove them but the instructions say hover and press delete. I don't see delete.

@66denise i just checked and don't see the option to remove.

Why has this feature not been added? It's been at least two years of users requesting this! Back in July, my fit bit went haywire and said I did 1 million steps in one day! No joke! And so as a result of that, I was awarded 15 different badges! I didn't rightfully earn those badges and they are a part of the Fitbit that I look forward to! Thankfully my fit bit straighted out and it hasn't glitched since but customer support said that the badges couldn't be removed. So frustrating....

We should absolutely be able to delete unearned steps/floors badges as well! My FitBit went crazy a few months ago and logged one million steps! That's not an exaggeration! And due to that error, I "earned" 15 steps badges! I look forward to earning those badges rightfully and now I'm just stuck with them?

I would have to agree with everyone before me, this needs to be implemented. About a month ago I was in a challenge with my wife and her sister in law, and both of them got their next lifetime distance badges - my wife (currently around 3600 miles) earned the Great Wall (5500 miles) and SIL is around 1200 miles and got the badge for 1600 miles.

I read a few and most people had their fitbit actually record the steps or flights that caused their concern, but these two were just glitches in the fitbit software somewhere, be it their phones or the servers.

And anyone on support telling you that they "cannot" delete the badges is incorrect - they're simply not allowed to. It's a database, anything can be deleted with the proper authorizations, and implementing such an ability would be very easy.

Yes please! I'd love to be able to remvoe badges. My first day owning a fitbit, I drove to work and fitbit thought I'd climbed 10 staircases and congratulated me. As someone new to fitness and very sedentary, I want to feel the joy of actually earning that badge, not drive to the goal!

I've only been using my fitbit a week and already have several badges I didn't earn. Please fix this.

This is a must have feature (removing badges in general)

My kid used the same scale as me and I earned all these weight loss badges.

Agree this is a must-have feature. I wore my tracker while riding my motorcycle. I received four badges that were errors. I would like to be able to delete erroneous badges and start fresh.
