Update on the issue. I have today spoken with the FitBit support via live chat. This is the most important part of the conversation:
Daniel:Thanks for waiting Adis. Well Adis, as you just told me, you can see the whole data but only in the Fitbit app, we are working to improve all the features of our devices, and we will take into account your suggestion, but at the moment the whole data can only be seen in the Fitbit app, for all devices.
Me:So not even Sense or Versa 3?
Daniel:That is correct Adis, none of the Fitbit devices can show that on the screen.
Me:You should than asap make an firmware update since swim exercise is currently useless for swimmers.
Daniel:You are correct Adis. We are working on that and some other features as well, so users can take more advantage from their devices.
So @walidbr2008 as you can see, according to Daniel non of the FitBit devices offer this lap count while swimming but they are working on the update. Hopefully this will happen soon.
@AdisP I was based my opinion on online reviews .. I thought the versa had the laps count.. I can only confirm on my fitbit charge 4 and my garmin fenix 6 It's good to hear a confirmation that it will be implemented finally.. let's wait and see.. Thanks for the clarification 🙂
@walidbr2008 no problem 🙂 I wish I had contacted them sooner. What you wrote made sense but this is obviously a global issue which FitBit will hopefully fix soon.
This suggestion is long overdue for me since I finally managed to sell my Charge 4 but please, for other swimmers out there, make lap count available WHILE swimming.
Hi @__.Anne.__, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to show laps during swim. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. You can also vote for this other suggestion: Please add swim lap counting to Versa 3. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
@YojanaFitbit I really don't get it. Few posts earlier there is an official confirmation from FitBit support (Daniel - Live Chat Support) that FitBit is working on introducing this feature both for Charge 4 and Versa 3. We would like to know when this will actually happen? People are selling their bands because of the lack of this feature so this is crucial for us to say the least. I will also be selling my device soon if we don't get the lap count feature soon.
@JuanFitbit you must be taking something strong when you were able to describe our obvious frustration with "enthusiasm". I sold my band because of this but could not resist on commenting.
The idea is for Fitbit just to return the feature it already HAD. No more, no less.
@JuanFitbit how do you mean confusion? Confusion about what? Daniel from FitBit did not me tell me the truth when he said that you are working on bringing this feature both for Charge 4 and Versa 3? And how can a person working in the same company not know their plans?
We only want to know when this will happen so that we can decide if we will be selling our bands or not.
I have the same problem on the versa 3, which I recently bought. I mostly bought it to wear during swimming, excluding this feature makes it completely useless. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew this but since nearly every other watch had this option so I assumed this one would have it at well. Really disappointed.
@JuanFitbit@LizzyFitbit I am happy to inform you that I finally managed to sell my Charge 4. For half of the price but it was worth it. After this experience - Fitbit definitely never again. I just hope you will bring this most basic feature called lap count WHILE swimming for others sake.
Is there any updates on this? I hardly even swim but this versa 3 has felt like an actual step in the wrong direction coming from the Versa 1 - I am on the verge of hating this watch, and the only thing that will save me from selling it is a lap counter haha. Please Fitbit, it’s such an easy thing to switch on!
I like to swim, but i quickly lose count of my laps when i’m swimming. So it would be great if we could have the Laps that you did or the meters that you swam on the fitbit screen. Or something more like the features from running or hiking
