Threaded Messaging

Taunting, Cheering and messaging within the app is fun, however only being able to see my friends messages to me and not my responses, makes the banter much less entertaining. Almost all IM, SMS, Skype and chat programs allow the user to see the entire conversation (both sides of it). Please Fix the Chat to show the full conversation!

Why are we still waiting for this to be updated?? Come on Fitbit developers, you should be all over this feature by now. So annoying not being able to see your sent message let alone not seeing the conversation in a thread.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to die before the Fitbit developers bother to implement two way chat for our messages. It's been ALMOST 3 YEARS and what has been done so far? Nothing. They're considering it. I'm considering the fact that I will die someday too, but they have the ability to do something about this. Come on, Fitbit, get moving!

For almost 3 years peole have been asking for this feature. What else can we do as Fitbit users to make this happen? Being able to follow both sides of a conversation was basic functionality for the Neanderthalers. Where does that leave you, Fitbit?

You guys are so busy inventing stuff that you don't seem to be concerned about the community that is the backbone of your product. Why the heck, after all these years, haven't you made conversations possible in the apps. It is always a one sided deal, and sometimes you get a reply to a question you don't remember posing to one of your friends. It shouldn't be so hard to correct that. Come on - it makes you seem amateurish.

It would be useful to see messagesI have sent to friends. It would help me remember who I haven't messaged for a while. I am surprised you haven't fixed this already.

Show the thread of all coversations and be able to delete message, can't understand why it isn't on here in the first place?

Three years on from your concept design, and 2017 commences without a solution from Fitbit to provide conversation history in messaging.  I am a new user of this device, but I have to say that it is very dissapointing that the designers of this device are ignoring the community of Fitbit users who have bought this and have requested a simple upgrade to the software.

I feel you have a commitment to the thousands of Fitbit users to provide a solution in a timely manner, 3 years is not a timely manner by any means 😞

I, too, would be so happy to see both sides of a conversation via messages. I realize your terms for these suggestions state: "(i) we shall have no obligation to review the submission;"  But is there a place to see which suggestions under consideration are actually going to be implemented?

I saw there was just yet another update with new and ever fancier stuff, but please, developers can you fix the basics first?! There has been a thread in the community complaining about the fact that you can't see messages sent to you and your replies in a thread like you do in a messaging app for about 5 years.

My other pet peeve is the list of recent activities is only 5. I regularly do 10 or more types of exercise but am constantly having to search for my activity as it drops off the bottom of the recent list. There is half a blank screen on my phone! Why not use it to track 10+ recent activities?

It seems to me that a basic, functioning message system shouldn't take three YEARS to develop? How do things move from these comments to an actual Fitbit employee implementing them? I have all kinds of new features that cost $$ (understandably) but this is basic app 101.

Throw me in with the lot that wants conversation history!  I'm also a Fitbit shareholder and it's a bit troublesome this hasn't been prioritized as a feature to incorporate into the product.

In app

On top of being able to see the full conversation it would be nice if my friends conversatins where divided by user and not all in one clump. I find I miss what some friends say if I get a bunch or reply at once.

Also I'd really like to be able to see my groups in the app not just online. And to be able to follow threads with in the app.

3 years on since this was requested, and we're still seeing lack of replies from each other. It's VERY HARD to keep track of what I have said to my friends!

This thread (no pun intended) is over 3 years old and no response from Fitbit Engineeing.  So awesome you guys listen to your customers...

Got a message today and didn't remember what I said in the first place...I see in 3 years fitbit hasn't fixed the issue...But they also fired a bunch of people recently and their stock price is going under so I imagine this isn't a top priority... But stuff like this can start to annoy people.

There are so many complaints about messaging, how about one more.  I have an iPhone 6, running the app on my phone, looking at old messages that are from friends.  I have seen comments that say the messages drop off after 30 days? My oldest message is 273 days old.  It would be nice to be able to clean this up.  Thank you

Why be half way broken?  Go ahead and take out our ability to see the text of our Friends' messages as soon as we receive them.  That way we will always have a nice clean whiteboard upon which to gaze and meditate on the incompetency of the Fitbit app project manager.  Three years and still this DEFECT hasn't been corrected. To quote the Prez, "so terrible, so sad".

I just got off of live chat with fitbit, and although it was a very pleasant exchange, there is no indication this feature is going to be addressed any time soon, see transcript below:

Keren G (2/23/2017, 8:58:55 PM): Hi Daniel, my name is Keren G. How can I help you?
Me (2/23/2017, 8:59:21 PM): Hi Keren, first, I would like to say that this was much faster than i would have thought
Me (2/23/2017, 8:59:38 PM): I was 47th in line, but that was only 10 minutes ago
Me (2/23/2017, 8:59:58 PM): the reason i am contacting you is in regards to a thread on the fitbit community
Me (2/23/2017, 9:00:06 PM): https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Threaded-Messaging/idi-p/90255
Me (2/23/2017, 9:00:47 PM): is there any information that can be provided to the public? this thread is over 3 years old without any suggestion of a date of resolution
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:01:43 PM): I'll be more than happy to help you with this today!
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:02:38 PM): First I'd like to say that our engineer department always take in consideration our customers suggestion and feedback.
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:05:42 PM): Let me tell you that recently our team started changing the dashboard design on our mobile applications, we do not know how long will take to start with this process. And we do not have information about that yet.
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:06:37 PM): But I can pass along what you're requesting, and the best place to make your voice heard is the Ideas board on our community
Me (2/23/2017, 9:06:54 PM): thank you for the information thus far
Me (2/23/2017, 9:07:34 PM): it would be really great if someone from fitbit would comment on the thread, the lack of communication makes one less empathetic
Me (2/23/2017, 9:08:08 PM): side note, i do like the new dashboard, although the location of the 'alarm' settings is weird
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:10:06 PM): What I'd like to recommend you right now is to post about this one more time, to have fresh information about this.
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:11:08 PM): And as I told you before I appreciate the feedback and actually this chat is being recorder so they will now everything about your request and opinion about our new dashboard.
Me (2/23/2017, 9:11:38 PM): again, many thanks for the quick assistance and the information, have a wonderful day!
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:12:22 PM): You are very welcome. It was a pleasure helping you today.
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:12:27 PM): Have a great night!
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:12:30 PM): Thanks for chatting with me today. You will be receiving a customer satisfaction survey after this chat, and we would appreciate you taking the time to tell us how we did.
Keren G (2/23/2017, 9:12:32 PM): To end this chat please go ahead and click "end chat".

I've raised this on the Fitbit Facebook page too.  They did reply quickly, but didn't say much other than to point me at these boards.   I do think posting queries on there Facebook page is more likely to prompt action though as it's more widely used and visible.

I've unfollowed this thread. It's getting annoying. First of all there are a million and one other ways to carry on conversations with your friends. Why does everyone feel they need to add Fitbit? They obviously have it as far as they are going to take it.

I would love to see Conversation view on messages. I don't remember what I said and I don't even know for sure if I sent it!
