Threaded Messaging

Taunting, Cheering and messaging within the app is fun, however only being able to see my friends messages to me and not my responses, makes the banter much less entertaining. Almost all IM, SMS, Skype and chat programs allow the user to see the entire conversation (both sides of it). Please Fix the Chat to show the full conversation!

Hi there @SunsetRunner. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us!

I think this is a cool idea and would come very useful for being aware of your Fitbit activity.

Thanks for stopping by the feature request board!

It would be great if you could possible include an option to delete messages from fitbit. Also challenges after you have finished with them.

@Xtermin8 This is a good option so you can avoid getting confused by past information registered on your Dashboard. I'll pass this on.

Any other ideas you might have, feel free to share or vote for them, if it’s already suggested in the Feature Request Forum. Happy stepping!

What is the status of this requested improvement?  It really should have been part of the basic messaging you provided.  Not sure how storing one sided conversations was ever thought to be helpful.

If it hasn't occurred yet, when will this feature become available?
Anyone else support this development?

i dont understand why fitbit doesnt have this function! no one wants to be stuck with messages (particurlary considering that almost anyone can send u a message) for 30 days unable to delete it if you want to! Fitbit team please include this function its so basic!! Thanks

Can you change the message interface to be in an iMessage or Facebook Messenger like format so we can clearly see the conversation history? The current way Fitbit messages are displayed is so awkward - it only shows the inbox messages in a chronological order (not grouped by senders), and does not show the sent messages? Sometimes I can't remember what I sent to the other person, or whether I had even replied. Thanks!

Yes, please add an update so that we can DELETE TEXT MESSAGES from the Fitbit. Please make this possible ASAP.

I have also been waiting patiently for this to be implemented.  Please, please fitbit get this up and running.  It's a very important feature to me, and would really help improve enjoyment of the site

Add another request for this feature.

Since most messaging application have both inbound and outbound messages I am puzzled why this is not part your friend messaging.  Especially since under challenges I see both message directions of members of the challenge.  Why implement this very standard feature in one part of the application and not another?

Strange...

I agree this would be a very useful feature to see the entire conversation! Sometimes my internet connection is not always the best & I can't tell whether or not the message was actually sent. Being able to go back to check and see it later would let me know that they actually got what I sent! Thanks for considering this feature! Cat Very Happy

I'm dealing with aging relatives who are new Fitbit users. They absolutely NEED to be able to see both sides of the conversation thread to be able to follow the coversation and make sense of it. This is important. Please make it happen in 2016!

I wish we could delete the messages our friends sent us by ourselves, whenever we want. I dont think waiting for 30 days or until our inbox is full is a great idea. Please make this basic function happen or dont use the message system at all....

It seems that a lot of people want to be able to read their sent messages. Apparently this is not possible. Can the Fitbit engineers please rectify this. It doesn't make sense that you can't access both sides of a conversation. Thanks 🙂

Basic message management is a must. Such a simple feature should be included. I just got my Fitbit and was surprised to find I couldn't manage messages at all. Like buying a car and finding out it doesn't have a reverse gear.

I completely agree, the user should be the one desiding on deleting messages.  There can be inappropiate messages sent and they just hang out, a simple delete swipe is really needed.

I find this problem an ongoing frustration will most users. I posted a request well over a year ago with ernormous support for a delete option. ALL OTHER APPS HAVE THIS OPTION...why not this one? I have to wait 30 days to have an unwanted message deleted???? Please THINK about this....I'm sure the app developers would be frustrated if they couldn't delete an unwanted message from their phone. Please fix this. HUGE PROBLEM FOLKS!!!!!

If you shut it down by pressing the left and bottom right button at the same time and wait for it to slowly turn off it will delete all the messages.

I would like this feature too.

People may say "Well, if you want a messaging system, go use an existing one!"

Uh, those I talk to on FitBit I don't even have on any other rmessanging system. I only know them on FitBit (and only by first name, another issue, as I have 4 Matt's and two don't have a picture, so not easy).

If FitBit is going to make it so you can message such people, then go the full 9 yards and give us chat history, and see our own replies. Thanks!

I'm new to fitbit and I find myself flicking through the different screens looking for the chat thread when a friend sends me a message, looking for the one I sent to them to see what they are responding to. They don't always respond immediately like any other chat or message system.  Can't believe you couldn't have added this to the app over the last 2 years.  Very big hole in the app.  If you're going to build a fit community, then they need to be able to converse accordingly within the app/community.  It's a one sided conversation at the moment.
