More of a suggestion to Fitbit than a question - it'd be really nice to have a tile that helps track menstrual cycles since they're so tied to a woman's body, weight, food cravings, mood etc.
That. Is. BRILLIANT! Our body temperatures run higher, we sleep hotter and not as well, lose track of our cycles, our heartrate increases... this could all be trackable in a Fitbit already!
Love this idea! Like others have stated I also am currently using an app to track this but to have that data accessible in the fitbit app along with all my other health data would be really useful.
I have wished for this feature since I first started using the Fitbit. Our cycles have a significant impact on our health statistics. While there are other apps out there capable of tracking this, it would be great to have it correlated to our other Fitbit logs. I sought this help forum out specifically for that suggestion.
Has there been any progress on this? I would love to see this integrated into my health awareness with Fitbit and My Fitness Pal. I know my cycle really affects my life and I would love to track it all together.
It's very disappointing that this still isn't a feature, two years after the suggestion was reviewed. I wonder why the development team apparently didn't consider it a worthwhile addition, since around 50% of us could use it.
I am surprised this forum has existed for so long and nothing has been done about it!
Here is more idea for a Female Fitness Tracker! (Because our monthly cycle greatly affects our fitness)
Fitbit, may you please either:
- add a part of the app that enables us to enter menstruation information, and then this information is used in the analytics and how the device suggests movement tips for us? - OR, work with Ava Fertility Tracker to integrate cycle tracking naturally into the fitness tracker?
I think this would give FitBit an edge above other fitness trackers, which would help boost sales and revenue! Also, the app idea especially would be a low investment on FitBit's end compared to a high return.
Also, wouldn't it be nice if Fit Bit sends motivation to keep walking/moving/ etc. during PMS and first days of period? It's soo hard to do it then, but super important too!
I want to add my voice of support to the idea of making a tile for this purpose. Other makers of fitness watches have finally started incorporating this ability, so it seems like Fitbit will fall behind the curve if this idea is not acted on.
This post has been going on forever and they do nothing about it. They don't care. So my next tracker will not be a Fitbit. I am on my second one and when this one gives out , I am going with another brand.
I love my bellabeat leaf, and am currently comparing it to a Fitbit charge 2. I would love to have the heart rate and sleep monitoring right next to my cycle tracker! My bellabeat always reminds me why I seem a little quick to anger, or when the sudden outburst of zits on my face happen. Love the meditation, don't use it enough, of course. Can't pick one over the other so far! Add this feature please! This idea was proposed in 2014! And probably before that even! Just make it an option to turn on if wanted so guys won't have to be offended by our powerful bodies.
i will try syncing clue tomorrow and see what happens.
I've pretty much ditched my fitbit now. Probably going to bite the bullet and get an apple watch instead, because there doesn't seem to be any sign that this is going to be addressed any time soon, and to be honest that's really pissed me off. I have no idea why, it seems like such an obvious/essential thing. But the apple health app has this integrated already and the new sport watches look great...It's expensive but will be worth it, I think.
To anyone thinking of switching to the Bellabeat Leaf, they’ve just added a tile for water consumption, but don’t have one for food yet. I still prefer the Leaf over my old (discarded) Fitbit, the sleep tracking is better and the menstrual cycle tracking is great.
Yeah, the more I use my Alta HR, the more I feel like FitBit is making a big mistake for not integrating period-related features.
This past week I noticed that my resting heart rate was consistently elevated. I also wasn't feeling well. I finally thought to check my separate period tracking app, and turns out I was likely ovulating. I then found this article that talks about this phenomenon: https://www.buzzfeed.com/stephaniemlee/your-fitbit-could-help-you-get-pregnant-heres-how
I'm uninterested in getting pregnant, but knowing that increases in resting heart rate can correlate with my cycle would help me manage my activity levels, and it also helps explain why a medical condition of mine can get worse certain times during my period. Why not have a feature so that those of us who menstruate can see little icons on our different charts if we chose to, showing actual and predicted periods/ovulation? For folks who do want to get pregnant (or want to avoid sex when they are most fertile), there could be a setting for notifications that let you know that you're likely ovulating.
I don't want to make assumptions about FitBit's development team, like their demographics and priorities, but I wonder if they realize how many of the things the FitBit already tracks relate to people's cycles. I know creating a new tile and integrating it into so many different areas takes time, but it's been years, and there isn't even a hint that this is being worked on.
@burns_erin, I haven’t explored that specifically, but when I scroll day by day through the calendar at the top of the app, it will show me whether or not I was mentruating, along with the stats for the day. It is possible that there is more (like cross referencing) in the web interface, I haven’t checked that out yet.
Still waiting. I'm past child bearing, so I don't need an ovulation app. But being able to see how my period compares to my weight, which I've yet to find a good app for, I'm currently using a Google chart! Would be awesome and solidify my live o

I didn't realize how much I needed this feature until I was getting lower abdomen pains for a week now and couldn't tell when I'm supposed to have my next period. 😞
Hi Fitbit! I was wondering if at some point you might have a period tracker on the app? I’m using a different app for just that, and it would be amazing to have the two things integrated... I definitely wonder if my heart rate is different during my cycle, if my eating habits change, if I drink more water etc! Or maybe even just the ability to link together with the health app on my iPhone, or with the app ‘clue’ that I use!
It would be great if you could add a page where we can track our menstrual cycle, travel, and stress details. I'm starting to see correlations with my resting heart rate. I want to set up my own spreadsheet but it would be so convenient all in one app. Thanks.
