Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

So I am commenting to my post earlier this year...I've asked Santa for the new Charge 3 and Versa...gifting my Charge 2 and Blaze to my daughter and husband...more motivation for them!  In the future I would like to see a Trade-In Program; for right now Fitbit offers all that I want in a Fitness watch.

I would echo the sentiment that there is a need for this program.

I have a Fitbit Charge 2 and the bands went in the first year of owning it. It was covered by warranty and the customer service people were excellent to deal with in getting me new bands - but the bands I originally had were discontinued and I need to change the color or the style of band.

The Charge 3 is out now, so since they don't have my bands I think it would be awesome if I could trade in my band-less Fitbit Charge 2 for a Fitbit Charge 3. Alas, when I suggested it they indicated that all I could do was post on here to suggest the program get created; since it hasn't been done since the first suggestion in 2015 I am not optimistic.

I think the program would be great no matter what. I think even if it was only available to people under warranty, that would be cool too. Minimally, I think it would great if it was open to people still under warranty when they have a manufacturer defect.

I second and third this! These devices are upgrading as fast as smart phones, tablets and computers. PLEASE create a trade in/ upgrade program!!

There should be a fitbit upgrade/trade up program. We have been asking for one for years. Please create some sort of loyalty program that allows that.

I have been using a Fitbit One since 2014 and really wish you all would consider a trade-in  program.  With my work, I enjoy the challenges with my fellow co-workers but would love to be able to go from a Fitbit One to one of the newer watches.

I would say every company should have a recycle program for their electronics to be a better earth citizen.  

Trade in is a good initiatives.   It’s be a couple of years since this thread was created.  We did not really see the change.  Not good

I’ve had my charge 2 for 2 years and have LOVED it. Customer service has been exceptional with a couple small bugs. However now with my warranty up, I am stuck with a broken band and am looking to upgrade to the Charge 3. It would be fantastic if your awesome customer service allowed for some type of discount to those of loyal to fitbit. Just a thought.

I think that it would be amazing if Fitbit would offer a trade in programme for updating a device. 

Many computer, phone, and indeed car companies, offer customers a chance to trade in their current model for a newer one, using the old model as discount. 

I currently have a Fitbit Alta that I'd had for a couple of years now, and would very much like to upgrade to a newer model, but can't afford to. If we could trade in, it would make it a lot easier and affordable for people to upgrade.

In addition to this, maybe if it can't be done all year round as a standard practice, maybe as a New Year deal, in encouragement for those who have one but don't necessarily use it as much as they should for fitness tracking, and a discount upgrade could help them start the new year by getting back into being more active?

Some sort upgrade or exchange program. I give you my outdated device to help towards the purchase of a newer device. Like they do with phones.

I think that Fitbit should have a trade in program every few months then Fitbit can reuse parts and people can get new devices

Fitbit needs to come up with some sort of a trade-in policy or customer loyalty discount, since they are constantly developing new devices that quickly put previous models to shame. I'm sure the company can put old models to good use, whether its refurbishing them or recycling for parts, it would be better than them gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.

How has this program been requested for almost 5 years now and nothing has been developed? Even if Fitbit partnered with sellers to do the trade in programs for them.

profitable. Apple... Garmin? Both on my short list...here I come.

This is a great idea. I had the original charge HR for years, unfortunately it broke and I bought the charge 2 however this tracker is crap compared to the original and I would like to get a different Fitbit but can’t afford to buy one at full price. A trade in/upgrade programme would be brilliant.

This request has 742 likes so far and still nothing. We would love a buy back program especially with the quick upgrades of the devices. We would be willing to pay but would like a buy back option to cut the cost some... myself included!!

We as the consumers are telling Fitbit we love their products and willing to stay with them if there’s a trade-in/upgrade program. Unfortunately Fitbit is not caring about their consumers. Please listen. 😞
