Why oh why is this not a standard feature. What is fitbits sales in the uk? Too low? Do we not warrant the attention!! No seriously, when will uk products be able to be scanned? It's a serious inconvenience manually entering every product.
I find it inconceivable that as developers you sell a product in the UK yet don't provide support for something as fundamental as a UK food database, surely a fundamental aspect of the product. You have had two years to work on this ? It's a real product flaw
2. Increase the options for selecting a nationality. Currently there is no option to select Ireland from your drop down menus
3. the sleep now option is too buried in the iOS app, perhaps a slide to the left option on th dashboard to select it and then a confirmation pop-up would be more intuitive?
Definately would like a UK foods database, loving the Flex so far though.
Edit: A thought occurs. If the issue is getting hold of a pre-existing database, how about crowdsourcing it? I can see I can already add foods manually but I suspect that these are only held locally on my Iphone
If you were to create a UK foods database as an option and give users the ability to add to it (or at least suggest additions) only using the barcode scanning function. If the product is not there then have the user add the key information for calorie tracking, the serving size etc. If it is there already then it would be detected.
The database could then be refreshed on a daily/weekly basis, with a staff member conducting spot checks and potentially reviewing conflicts using generally available information from the internet. You could also enable users to report possible errors for investigation.
This functionality would potentially also help keep existing databases up to date on an ongoing basis.
Come on Fitbit, extract the digit and give us the full product we brought into. As with every other piece of tech in existance, the most powerful marketing tool is the creation of 'true believer' customers who act as champions for product.
Unfortunatly when I talk to friends, colleagues etc about my flex I am compelled to say that while the tech is good, Fitbit have yet to release a UK food database - or even set any expectation that they will do so - which makes the whole package (I have an Aria as well) a little like a two legged stool i.e. next to useless...
please add a British food database. Myfitnesspal has a good one, but I would much rather have everything in one place., are there any plans for this? Must be millions of British fitbit users
Because we STILL don't have a UK food database it would be easier to input total calories rather than try to use the American, German, French or Spanish database to add them up for each meal.
I have to calculate my calories using 'Fat Secret' uk database and then create a meal for however many calories it is.
Far from ideal and an absolute nightmare to include fat, fibre, carbs etc composition.
Please can you add a British Food Database option as the American one doesn't meet the needs of your British Customers. I need to add virtually everything a new.
link to the Weight Watchers application would also be useful as a lot of your customers are members of Weight Watchers.
The app 'Fat Secret' see http:/fatsecret.com for App and http://fatsecret.co.uk is good for a UK database. It has a good UK food database including supermarkets, restaurant chains and even a bar code reader.
I use this to calculate my calories used rather than try to use the American database.
a british food database is long overdue. many fitbits are sold in the UK and it is galling to see us users asking for disneyland catering specific foods when around 60m uk people lack one.
with MyfitnessPal the database is ongoin, so if you dont see a food in the database you can simply add it for future ref and for the rest of the community
