No weather app is very disappointing. I'm seriously considering returning my brand new Charge 5 and going back to my Garmin 😞 Doing anything exercise-wise in Colorado currently is problematic with temps getting in the high 90s early in the day. I want to be able to know the current temp when I'm out.
Received my charge 5 today. Like the design and the features so far, but the weather app is missing. My last tracker, that costs only 30$, has this feature...
Or enable the opportunity to write apps by yourself, then I'll do it by my own.
I bought the Charge 5 today, just checked the new features and didn't check what got removed. That was a big mistake! My lovely weather app is gone! What a shame! A 10 bugs China watch has this feature.
Please add the weather app that I used to use all the time. My wife is in need of a new fitbit, but will not get a new one unless the weather app is present.
please add! in the fitbit app store it lists charge 5 as a supported device for the fitbit weather app but it cannot be installed! having the ability to install other apps and faces is needed as well!!
I have owned all of the Charge FB since they rolled out. Every one of them has gotten better in some way up to the 5 and I was kind of happy when the connector to my Charge 4 broke and the wristband would no longer connect. I trusted Fitbit and had no question about moving to the 5 but now I have buyers remorse. Can anyone tell me why Fitbit thought it was a good idea to cancel such a great outdoor workout feature as the weather app? This has been a constant use for me and now I spent more for the 5 and got less...boggles my mind. They also omitted other standards such as stair flight counting...again, why? I'm just really disappointed, it seems because they added color, they cut back on the standard features you expect to have. The same features that have lead up to the 5, and now, I have a lessor product with minor color added and the feeling that Fitbit has lot touch with its users. Judging from what I've read everyone wants the weather feature back and now it seems that they haven't only lost touch, but just really don't care. Maybe it's time to move on...
And now, this past wk. I went away and hiked. As this is why I have a fitbit. Not only did I not have the weather. I had no elevation recorded now. AND.... it only seemed to go about 5 hours using GPS for my hikes. So for most, it died before I even got back to the car.
WTF! This is such a waste and NOt what I thought I was purchasing.
Now what!
I can't use my old one because it's gone and now I have this....
Not happy FITBIT....Sad, because as the person above (Bad Weather Jogger), I used to love this Fitbit and it seems that they no longer care about their customers.
Totally agree. My Fitbit 3 had a defect that made the screen dark so Fitbit offered me a discount on an exchange/upgrade and now I have a screen I can read but not the weather & other information I need! Thinking of getting something else.
Meteorologists LOVE the weather. . .and Meteorologists loved the previous Fitbit devices (Charge 3 & 4) that had the Weather App installed. Like so many others on this forum. . .I jumped from Charge 3 (C3) and went directly to C5. I have a C4. . .but never put it into operation because I like the AMOLED touch display of C5 and being able to view in broad sunlight. . .but like all of the previous posts to this thread . . .that Weather App is badly / desperately NEEDED MORE than any other app on the C5 device. Weather is one of the most important features. Just can't understand how / why it was not included on C5. . .but IS included on the Fitbit Sense, Versa Series, and Ionic. Please add the Weather App portion back on the next Firmware update...please!
How have they not added this back in yet, after all the comments? Ive tried so many smart watches/ fitness trackers. Just moved from the Samsung Fit, to the Fitbit Charger 5. I must say I am very dissapointed with the lack of user friendly options with the Charger 5. My number favorite feature on the Samsung Fit was my ability to see the weather on my watch face!!! With that said the Samsung had a better variety watch faces to pick from. It seems that the majority of Fitbit is all about the Time. The apps are also super limited. Day one and Im not sold coming back to FitBit.
Come on Fitbit! Why hasn’t this been added yet? I am seriously considering going back to my cheaper Amazon watch and not recommending the Charge 5 to my friends.
Please add a weather app to charge 5. it could start as very simple but I couldn’t think of anything more important while you’re out exercising than to know if there are any weather alerts. And being able to correlate weather with health metrics would be so enlightening for those of us with fibromyalgia, dysautonomia, MSA, ME/CFS etc
