Weekly Report: Add Cals In Vs. Cals Out

I just noticed that Fitbit has changed the style of the emails for Weekly Progress Reports, and this change has removed some of the information I find most useful. This information being the "Calores In vs Calories Out" tile.

As such, is there anywhere in the new format that allows me to access the information that used to be shown under "Calories in VS Calories out" in the old format?

If not, please incorpoate this tile again - it is the most useful one!

For the life of me I can't figure out why this information was removed entirely.. Anyone trying to lose weight needs this data. Anyone trying to maintain weight needs this data. It is the only information in the weekly progress report I actually cared about. How about before you remove something entirely you survey your users and ask them what information is most useful and least useful and then make changes.. that way you don't annoy people who have spent a lot of money on your product.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to bring the "Calories in vs out" statistic back? How do you find out or get a response from Fitbit? I contacted them for support and they told me to make my "suggestion" in this forum. They said that Fitbit looks at it to determine priorities. Assuming that's true, I hope more people will vote and comment to bring this helpful stat back to the weekly email report. It's the only one of value to me.

There has not been a reply to this forum from Fitbit since they did away with the "Cal in vs Cal out"...Hmm, why is that, Fitbit customer service?

I have left Fitbit to use another app and am very happy. Now weaning myself off the tracker. Fitbit doesn't listen to its costumers.

Hey folks, I'm guessing FitBit isn't going to provide this information except to premium (read "paid") users.  Since their financials are looking weak and the stock market is not thrilled with their performance, they need to make more money - regardless of what their large, free, customer base wants.  Without the ability to control calorie information, its just a fancy pedometer.

Trish, would like to know what you switched to that you are happy with.

Just switched to the Lose It app. Logging activity in a journal. You can add exercise to the log on this app. Will solve the tracker issue eventually.

The lack of response from Fitbit on this matter is utterly shameless. To remove a feature that was extremely useful and that was provided as part of the Fitbit package when the tracker was purchased, and then to start charging for it as a premium feature, is disgraceful and shows a blatant disregards for its users. This lack of concern has been reinforced by Fitbit's silence.

Speak with your actions and stop using the products. This thread has been going on for months now. They will not fix it. Clearly they aren't even looking at this forum.

Yes I agree!  This was the most useful piece of data and they removed it. Please bring it back!

Hey. Has anyone had a decent response on this? I've only had a 'thanks for your feedback on taking away calories in v out on the weekly progress report' no indication on whether it will be reinstated or not! Hugely annoying... surely they would know the plans considering sooooo many people have complained!

Yes please bring this feature back...the point is to have all the information at your fingertips, not have to keep a daily log as well yourself. Why remove features that's really just crazy.

I can't agree more with what's been said already. I have received the new report today and I am NOT happy!!! I'm at a total loss as to why they'd do something so utterly left field and stupid like this.

Calories in v out is the part of the report I need - please bring it back asap - it clearly has a lot of support and can't see why it has disappeared

Calories in versus calories out is the most useful stat on the dashboard and the weekly report and the first thing I go to. I contacted support yesterday and they said to post it here as they do look at suggestions and take feedback onboard... So come on Fitbit, I am not  the only one who relied on and loved this statistic...

I really want this feauture back, if not in the weekly progress report some where where i can assess it weekly whether i have eaten in a deficit so i can track my progress better please!

Calories in vs calories out was the most important part of the weekly report for me, and I suspect for pretty much everyone else who uses their Fitbit towards a weight goal. Removing it was a ridiculous idea and I can see that many people feel the same way.

Agree with everyone else. Love the new format of the weekly report - but the statistic I found most useful was the overview of my calories in vs calories out which showed me how I had done against my food plan.

I would also love to see more information in the app. Over the last few weeks I've been concentrating more on the Fitbit food plan than myfitnesspal. I still log everything in MFP but prefer to see the data on Fitbit as feel it is more accurate in seeing what calories I have 'left'. However in MFP, there is an option of viewing what you have had over the last 7 day period and shows you your deficit for the week. Really wish Fitbit could update the app to give more information about how you are doing over a weekly/monthly period. With other elements of the app - active minutes, steps etc, at the end of the week, you can see the total of what you have done in those 7 days. Beyond the yellow/green/red bar at the top of the screen, this section of the app gives very little information and doesn't allow you to see any patterns. There is no way of comparing one week to another (unlike in the exercise section where you can see a full month with ticks of when you worked out) and no way of seeing how you're managing the deficit from one week to another.

Not sure I've explained that very well. But I'd love more information than simply calories burned and calories eaten!

Until Fitbit fixes the weekly report, one can manually and tediously track
calories in. Just setup a spreadsheet by week and enter the calories
consumed for each day of the week. Given the food in data goes back in time,
one can manually enter the data once a week or once a month. The spreadsheet
can then sum the daily values and there is then a way to compare with the
weekly Fitbit reported calories burned.

Severely limits the use of Fitbit without the data from the old weekly
report, but by doing a lot more work, one can get back to the practical
benefit.

Fitbit is a joke. I have written to them 4 times about this and all they say is referring me to the community forum where, they don't even read it. I'm done with Fitbit and if they don't bring back the most useful feature of the cal in vs out my very next tracker won't be with Fitbit. I'm so sick of their emails saying they care about their customers when clearly, they don't. Well Fitbit, I'm quickly losing my care for you too.

I'll add my voice to getting this feature back asap! Why remove something like this?

I tweeted and was told 'great idea join our community'.

Just hope Fitbit pay attention on this one.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! You've gotten rid of Calories IN/OUT. This was THE primary reason I valued the weekly report. Please re-add this back in!! 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.
