This update should now be available to all customers! If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in How do I update my Fitbit device?. If you choose to post about your issue, provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist you.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. Hi @MYOHMY , when you got the message "Update available". It does not necessarily mean 1.184.52. When I bought mine October 2nd it had "Updates available". I am not sure, but it might be app updates. I do not know why, but this roll out has taken a very long time.
With the exception of the fact that we can dim the light by placing our hand over the clock face, I haven't noticed any difference after the update.
I have installed "Wallet", and please note that even if your bank and card support "Wallet" on the phone, it does NOT automatically support "Wallet" on FitBit. You can check banks and cards here.

Isn't that a list of banks that support Fitbit Pay, not Google Wallet, on a Fitbit device? Has Fitbit indicated only the banks on that list in your link are actually supported in Google Wallet on a Fitbit device?

I can't add my Google Wallet credit card to this Google Wallet on fitbit. I got back: "This card can't be set up for tap to pay".
I added more details in Google Wallet on Fitbit: "This card can't be set u... - Fitbit Community

My only concern @LokeAa is that is the overall list of banks/institutions supporting Google Wallet on phone devices, which does NOT seem to be the same list of banks/institutions that support Google Wallet on Fitbit devices. I say this because my local bank is on that list in your link, and my debit card works fine in Google Wallet on my Pixel phone, but that exact same card cannot be added to Google Wallet on my Sense 2.
I think there is something additional a bank/institution needs to do to allow their card to be added to the Google Wallet app on a Fitbit device, but no one at Fitbit thus far seems to know what that exactly that additional action is. I'm sure my local bank would be happy to do whatever they need to do it allow it, but no one can seem to provide details on what exactly they need to do.

The whole process of this Google Wallet on Fitbit is a trial and error. This includes the roll out as well as setting it up and adding the credit cards...
I wonder what's going on here.

Understood @LokeAa, I'm just saying that's the frustrating part as there is no list of what it appears currently is a subset of that list you linked that are actually cards that CAN successfully be added to the Google Wallet app on a Fitbit. I was told my Fitbit support case was escalated but I haven't gotten a reply yet as there is obviously a) something that a bank/institution needs to be do to be able to be added to the Google Wallet app on a Fitbit or b) it's a matter of Fitbit doing something on their side that allows it and they just haven't enabled it for all the banks/institutions on that list you linked yet. I wish we could get communication as to which is the case.

I only got Google wallet when I subscribed to Premium (six month free trial). I'm curious to know if this was the case for anyone else.

Why does this company always announce things that it can not fullfil?
None of the features announced work after the update and when talking to customer service they made me do an factory reset before admitting that the announced features are not ready because this is a new product.
I can't remember accepting being a tester of a ALPHA or BETA version of neither the Fitbit Sense 2 not the update!
Does anybody know when the announced features will finally work? What will be the real timeline?

Very confusing, I know. I have sent the following question to Google Help desk:
What is the difference between "Google Pay" and "Google Wallet?
I usually manage to read my way to an answer, but not this time. I have had a payment card connected to Google Pay since the service was launched in Norway. In the Play store, "Pay " was renamed "Wallet" at one point. Regardless of the name of the app, and the brand of the phone, Card paymens in Pay / Wallet has worked flawless. It still does.
When firmware version 184.52 was released for Sense 2, it came with the possibility of "Wallet" on the watch. It does not work. After a couple of weeks, I received an answer that the card I use (VISA) is not supported by my bank for use in "Wallet". It makes no sense. First, it is VISA. Second, I have had my VISA linked to "Wallet" on my phone since 2017,without any problems. When I bought a Pixel phone a couple of weeks ago, I asked the retailer. She said that Wallet for Fitbit by Google smartwatches is not the same as Wallet forAndroid? I jumped to the conclusion that she is as clueless as the rest of us.
I hope whoever reading this can explain "Wallet" to me. Think "Wallet for Dummies beyond repair"

@LokeAa the GWallet is a rebranded GPay with added features. GPay started growing by adding non-payment features (adding membership cards, travel cards etc.). Since it wasn't all about payments Google rebranded it to Google Wallet. It's still the same product. Something similar happened to SamsungPay which now is known as SamsungWallet (which personally, I prefer over GoogleWallet). The Fitbit version of GoogleWallet is strange. It doesn't seem to be connected to the actual Google product but is more like rebranded FitbitPay (although that's a stretch because some cards that worked with FPay don't work with GWallet). I was expecting that it would work like SamsungWallet. Basically, if you have already configured SW and try to set it up on the watch then instantly you see your bank cards, membership cards etc. The bank cards however must be activated to be used on the new device (different ways, depends on the issuer). It's for security reasons. Simply, the SamsungWallet on the watch and on the phone is the same product sharing the same backend (I believe it's no different when it comes to ApplePay but never used it so I may be wrong). What we get on Fitbit however is some strange frontend to detached backend which is and isn't the same product.
It's just my opinion but I see it as overpromised and unfinished feature and knowing a history of FitbitPay I expect "contact your bank" responses when somebody reports card which don't work. If my HSBC UK card works on my phone with GoogleWallet and it doesn't work on Fitbit GoogleWallet then I can hardly see Fitbit GW to be the same product that I use on my mobile.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.
Thanks for the details, and every step tried prior to posting. As mentioned at the beginning of this thread, the Sense 2 Firmware Update 1.184.52 has been released for all our members, so check the Fitbit app and install it once you see it available.
In regards to the Google Wallet app, you can now use it on your Sense 2 in supported countries or regions. Take in mind you won't be able to go back to Fitbit Pay once you move over to Google Wallet. To learn more about this feature and the requirements to use it, check the following articles:
@Ian-J While this is odd, may I know if the permissions for the ECG app are enabled? If that's correct, let me recommend uninstalling the ECG app from your watch. Once that is done, forget your Sense 2 from the Bluetooth settings, restart your watch, reboot your phone, open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync. Then reinstall the ECG app, make sure the Heart Rhythm Assessment is completed and try taking a reading one more time.
@Blue.Pan and @SunsetRunner I went ahead to check your details and it seems you already have a case created with our Support team. I'm glad they're providing you with assistance, please keep an open communication with them.
@Mnp000 and @Zamalkawy4ever Please make sure your Sense 2 is syncing correctly and check this help article which describes the steps to set up on-wrist phone calls correctly.
@Chuck45 Just to confirm, does the clock face also show the time in 24h format? To work on this, let's try changing the time format to 24h, sync and then back to 12h to see if this helps. To do this, check this help article.
@chelseamich213 Could you confirm if your Sense 2 is still displaying a red X? If that's correct, let me recommend forgetting your watch from the Bluetooth settings and setting it up as a new device with the steps described here.

I did try resetting the 12 hour clock to 24 and then back to 12. That worked for changing my clock face, but not for the exercise app. Also, for what it's worth, I did have to uninstall my clock face and reinstall it after the upgrade because it wasn't displaying steps properly. I believe I tried to find a way to uninstall & reinstall the exercise app, it doesn't appear that I can uninstall that one. (Other apps have a button which says UNINSTALL, the exercise app just says INSTALLED).
Last thing, is there any way to save exercise configurations/preferences for stats and such because the upgrade reset all of those things.
Thanks for your help!
Also, is there a way to have the screen just be OFF unless I tap the physical button? When I'm showering the water often turns on my screen and starts selecting things and doing things that I don't want it to do. I have tried to set auto wake off, but no luck.

12-05-2022 04:53
@Chuck45 you can change "screen wake" setting to Button Only but this isn't going to help as tapping screen will still wake up the watch (and water will tap a lot). Only solution is water lock feature which Fitbit doesn't see as necessary.

Google pay is a little glitchy but I'm still trying to work with it. What I'm upset about is that the fitbut approved apps are GONE.
I thought I was upgrading from my previous smartwatch (Versa 2 that I had for 3 years). Send that is more of a downgrade. All of the approved apps are no longer available (such as Spotify, Starbucks, etc). I contacted customer service TWICE and got 2 different answers. First time, I called abs the rep said I just needed the update which would come in a couple of days. It's now been a week. So, I contacted again through live chat. The new rep said my new Sense 2 will NEVER have this apps because it is a fitness tracker. HUH???? Aren't they ALL fitness trackers? She also said that the Sense 2 will not have Google Maps when I asked when to expect that update too. She also said maps will not be available for the Sense 2. Isn't that one of the BIGGEST upgrades???
I'm sooooo frustrated. I saved up for this for so long. I feel like I got ripped off.
Please help!!!!

@Jmnm02 only shows how the company is disconnected internally. Google Maps are next to come on Sense 2 (the CS rep was wrong) but the other mentioned apps are not coming. Customer support often has no idea what they are talking about (I sometimes doubt these are real people). Before Sense 2 was released, many users asked about Google Assistant, music support and other features and the answers often were contradicting and misleading. Nothing new. It's safer to assume that customer support is usually wrong and just rely on official statements from Fitbit.

If you were having issues adding your card in Google Wallet, try again. On a whim I decided to try adding the debit card that I was not able to add previously and I was able to add it successfully today. I don't think my bank did anything or they would have let me know so I'm wondering if something changed on the Fitbit side.
