Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!

We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Sense 2 will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Fitbit should test the update thoroughly and resolve all the issues
reported so far related to update 194.61 before it is deployed.
Best Answer

I highly recommend you not do the upgrade until Fitbit has fixed the issues associated with it. I installed the new firmware on my Sense 2 2 months ago and continue to have the following issues on a regular  basis:

1) Watch will not sync

2) Incomplete sync- .work out data and calories burned are lost until the device syncs properly. This can take dozens of sync attempts and still doesn’t always work, Ex: I go for a 30 minute run and see 300 calories burned on my watch. After I sync, calories burned returns to what they were prior to working out.

3) Diminished battery life

4) Sleep data missing

i continue to be blown away by the lack of action by Fitbit and Google on this. 2 months is more than enough time to roll back or get ready a new firmware push. It’s truly unacceptable to expect customers to continue to walk around with a faulty product on their wrist and no options other that consistent turning off of blue tooth or restarting the phone. I’ve been loyal to Fitbit for 10+ years but this is the last product I’ll buy from them.

It is surprising that Fitbit has deployed update 194.61 without testing it thoroughly. Users have reported so many issues. Fitbit should share time bound action plan to resolve all the issues quickly.

@LizzyFitbit can you come onto the forum and tell us what is happening with update 194.61.

There are so many issues with it.

Best Answer

Will there be any new update at all?

Best Answer

Or just reinstall the app and it will take you take you back to 184.52 and DON'T UPDATE the new update. Works with everyone else.

------

Not surprising at all. They aren't in a hurry to fix the issue so just just don't update it once you get the notification and save yourself a lot of frustration. 🙏

------

I'm not a hurry for a bug ridden update. It's been going on for months. I wish I could turn off notifications for comments at this point but there's no option like Facebook or Twitter has. I basically gave up but still get all the members emails which I enjoy reading. Let's be friends together in this crazy journey 😁

I can't believe after 1 update my fitbit sense 2 lost his senses.

I literally mean this. the only thing it still tries to do is connect to the android mobile phone i had it connected to.

but after multiple attempts to reboot/restart and trying to install i think it literally gave up on its self.

My screen remains black, doesn't react, doesn't vibrate doesn't actually do nothing more than try to connect and that's it. i have follow all the guides all the know-hows all the tutorials all the help but nothing seems to be working. in all my years of having a fitbit this has never ever happened and this is a very very bad move with the current update. i bought this watch in october 2022 and i can't even use it now. i will let the battery drain completely and see if that will help solve my problem if not what else are my current options?

Reset to factory setting & don't do the 194 update.

Dear @1GinnyME1 how?.

My screen has remain black without turning on since yesterday after the update and has not came back on or lit up since then. So it's very hard to perform a factory reset if my sense 2 won't give me something to see.

It's not connected, it's not able to connect I am unable to see something on my screen.

Since the update, i use the gps tracking for a bike ride, however, when i sync my fitbit to see the map of my ride, it only has the route, it does not show any names of the areas along the way.

As of the date of this publication, no FW update from 184.52 is still available, there are users who are waiting for 194.61 since July, at least 11 weeks have already passed. Please answer what is the proposed date to cover users 100% , so that from that date, users can file a report for omission or negligence. This notice is courtesy.

The latest update no longer shows battery consumption on the app. Very annoying that I can’t check on my phone but have to toggle on my Fitbit device.
Also, I much preferred the previous app face which had the # of steps in Large (whereas now it’s the #calories that’s in Large)

I think mine updated, but now I can't change the time on my glucose tracker like I did before. Are you guys going to fix that?

@bfefer You can customize your Today Screen. Tap the "Pencil" on your today screen → Swipe Left → Tap "Get more active" tile → Save

Just HATE the new look, HATE it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. Time for a new smart watch (not a fitbit, I assure you).

----

Get a different watch. Try a Garmin- that's what I'm going to do.

----

Also, I pay for PREMIUM but now, fitbit app tells me I have to pay for premium (again????) to see some of my data. Very icky.

Totally dislike updated display version, does not allow for customizing loke previous version, shame it was not tested with users for input  before implementing.  Disappointed user of new app update!

Best Answer

Totally agree!  I much preferred the look of the previous version

Hi I’m having problems with my sense 2. It keeps trying to use Fitbit pay without me doing anything, it happens ever few minutes and it’s really annoying. I have turned it off and on, factory reset, and as soon as I downloaded the firm update it started doing it again.

i didn’t even install the wallet this time, I’ve only had this months for around 4 months.

any ideas ?
