Fitbit Sense won't charge

So I see some other people have posted on this problem.  I ordered my Fitbit Sense on January 7, 2021, directly from Fitbit.  There were some shipping issues and I finally got it at the end of January.  Since receiving it, I have had intermittent charging issues.  Sometimes this is resolved by cleaning the connections, other times I've had to resolve it by resetting the Sense by holding down the button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit symbol shows on the face of the watch.  On a few occasions I just had to keep trying plugging it in to different sockets on my computer.  However, this time it flashed "0%" the first time I plugged it in but then never charged.  It won't reset using the button, nor will it work after cleaning the contacts or plugging it into different sockets.  I haven't even owned this 4 months yet and I'm really frustrated with this problem. I keep my software up to date and don't know what else to do.

i've had my Sense for 3 months, which would be quarterly, and I am having this problem for the first time.  I agree that they should be sending out new charging cables to each owner.

Your watch should still be under warranty. Call them and tell them to
replace the charger.

Yes, it won't be long before these failures start showing up for the Sense 2 as well. #SenseToo

Terrible customer support - even worse in Australia...  faulty charger after five months, impossible to buy original one online (available for all other models, so they must know it's inherently faulty).  No Australian phone support.  No email support, why join Twitter?   And this is my seventh Fitbit product.  Guess large corporations don't care about foreign customers...

Well stated... the fact that they don't offer Sense chargers online means they know it's faulty design/construction.  And living in Australia, they make it impossible to get support without joining Twitter.  Like you I've owned many Fitbit products... terrible customer support.  They should have a special team replacing Sense chargers.

I should have checked the sense community before purchasing my sense in July. Now I have the same charging issues and no matter how I clean, it just won't work.

Anyone managed to find a solution or successfully get a replacement?

Appreciate any advice

One of the pins on your charger has most likely dropped and isn’t contacting your watch when you set it to charge. Either ask Fitbit to replace it or buy one from Amazon. But be prepared for it to happen again as the charger design is just flawed un general.

@Sense.user No solution. I tried all the suggestions in this thread. I have had one new charging cable, which did not solve the problem, and then two replacement (likely refurbished) Sense devices. The first replacement Sense took one charge and then it wouldn't re-charge after that. So I am on my third Sense, all on the original warranty as I was at the 7th warranty month of my first Sense when the charging issue first surfaced.

So far so good but I'm only into the 3rd month of the replacement. I advise using the Fitbit replacement process. They're relatively quick to issue a replacement cable/device.

How often have you had to re-order new cables? I've ordered at least 6 already. They only seem to last a couple months at best, and I've tried both OEM and Fitbit brand cables.

I've ordered, I think, 4-3rd party... They seem to work fairly well. I've
gotten at least 3 months out of each. In contrast, the branded Fibit from
Target lasted 3 weeks.

My last order was for a 3-pack of third-party charging cables about three months ago. I'm still on the first of these, my #7 cable, but I've got #8 and #9 ready to go.

I've only ordered replacement 1 time.

Hi all, in an effort to make your charge cables last longer, how they are used may have a bearing.

See this collection of Main charging tips - using these guidelines I haven't had to replace a single charge cable in over 2 years. Though if specific watches or cables have a fault there may still be problems.

I hope this helps.

Hi there, I have an OEM and I clean the sense sensors with a toothpick and a Cotten bud and also the pins on the charger. Works most times. Always clean the contacts. All the best.
