Fitbit Sense won't charge

So I see some other people have posted on this problem.  I ordered my Fitbit Sense on January 7, 2021, directly from Fitbit.  There were some shipping issues and I finally got it at the end of January.  Since receiving it, I have had intermittent charging issues.  Sometimes this is resolved by cleaning the connections, other times I've had to resolve it by resetting the Sense by holding down the button for 10 seconds until the Fitbit symbol shows on the face of the watch.  On a few occasions I just had to keep trying plugging it in to different sockets on my computer.  However, this time it flashed "0%" the first time I plugged it in but then never charged.  It won't reset using the button, nor will it work after cleaning the contacts or plugging it into different sockets.  I haven't even owned this 4 months yet and I'm really frustrated with this problem. I keep my software up to date and don't know what else to do.

I’m on my second one and it’s doing the same thing.

Can you ask for refund since it's a lemon?!?

Best Answer
No. I’ve had the watch for about a year so any warranty is over. Plus I don’t want to deal with them because the one time I did call about a problem they had an attitude like I was lying to them. The customer service agent actually hung up on me. So I just moved on to a better and more reliable option.

I'll be **ahem**ed! I took at look at my charging cable and it's exactly that: one of the 4 prongs is stuck inside. I guess I'll have to ask customer support for another one but at least I know the issue now. Thanks!

I have the exact same problem . 6 mts old. Started a month ago. I did everything it suggests and still no charge . I also have 5 diff cables for it , diff wall blocks and charging station, the whole shot . Sometimes I get lucky . Most not .Feeling very frustrated.

Contact customer service and they will send you a replacement. I just did. The only issue was waiting a month. Since I just received it, can't tell if problem has been resolved. Will let you know.

Hi, @Kimjess, welcome to the community, check out the previous posts, in particular, look at Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?  Examine your charging cable to ensure the 4 little pins are slightly proud of the pad and free moving (they are spring-loaded) If they are not in order talk to "Customer Support" or you can buy a replacement at a modest cost from Amazon. Finally, I clean the back of my "Sense" with rubbing alcohol using a cotton wool pad and detail the pits in the back of the "Sense" with a cotton bud.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Got new charger and it helped. No more issues.
There was a pin not working properly.

I have been a loyal Fitbit customer for a long time and I pay for fitbit premium.  I got my Fitbit Sense in January and I’ve had to battle every time to get it to charge. I just learned about the pin today, but enough is enough. It shouldn’t be that hard to charge a device. I ordered my first Apple Watch today.

So you joined the Fitbit Community 7 months after getting the Sense just to say you're moving on to the Apple Watch? Okay. It does have an industry-leading heart rate monitor but I do love the Fitbit sleep tracking information which is generally one of the best.

Just getting a new charger could solve your problem with charging. Cheaper than buying an iWatch. Iwatch has a lot to offer. If your want all those features then the iWatch is the way to go.I haven’t had a problem with my Sense since I bought a new charger. If it’s not the charger then your watch is still under warranty right? They need to fix it or replace it. Good luck with your decision. But always frustrating to buy something and not have it work.

She sounds like a very frustrated customer, huh? I missed the Costco
return window and the 1 year warranty expired May 31, so I'm stuck with my
Sense until it quits (either the battery or the charging system will fail
again) and then I also will be looking for a different watch. Too bad, I
like the app, but awful engineering combined with horrible customer service
is too much to take.

Have a look at Main charging tips it may help avoid charging problems in the future.

My Sense is nearly 2 years old and have to clean it every time before charging once every 5 days or so.

Unless the watch has an actual fault, often the over use of the new features, such as Snore detection, will reduce the time between charges considerably.

To get a longer time between charges have a look at the settings and features in use in How to resolve the Major issues causing short battery life.

They obviously need a longer warranty.  With past models including this one, they’re

Thank you for that advice. I'll be sure to clean it before I charge it. My
other one, the model right below this died and wouldn't accept a charge
from like 3 different new chargers I bought it so I panicked but I bought
another charger on Amazon for this one and it's charging again

At almost exactly 12 months after purchase, mine began experiencing same problem.  Was there a firmware update recently? Terminals cleaned on both watch and cradle. Three different cradles used. Four different chargers used.  Left charging overnight.   No positive result.  BTW, this is also my third Fitbit device that failed a little past warranty.  Any other suggestions?  I like being in Fitbit challenges with friends, but am becoming frustrated with device failures (especially right after warranty ends).

Hi @WolfpackDave - at a guess you have another faulty charge cable or it needs cleaning again - see instructions in How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

You can get those online and check Main charging tips , especially the first one.
