Just got Sense. The resting heart rate measurement seems accurate at rest, however I have concerns about the accuracy of the HRV and SPO2. For SPO2, I have a separate Pulse Oximeter. When compared, the Sense reading is always a bit lower. So far, the HRV result I've gotten is very low. Considering the averages for my age and my overall health, this seems very off, and I will be testing HRV on another device. Has anyone else noticed these issues?

Exactly how I feel. My reading are 9 or 10. What the heck. All of my other readings are normal. So am I ready to have a stroke any minute?????
Best AnswerWow - so many the function just doesn’t work ?! I wore the watch for close to a month now and never got past like 24 but many days were lower —- I just don’t get it — surely we’d be dead if those numbers were legit but what scares me is — how is it working for others ?!
Like that is what makes me wonder if I should actually worry about my number — is that not everyone gets crazy numbers like this 😞
Best AnswerYes, its been a terrifying start to my 60th year! My family clubbed together and bought me a lovely shiny Sense for the big 6 zero - and 3 days later I have scared myself to death with an HRV that hasn't gone above 13 yet!
Oh great, its either unhelpfully inaccurate or I'm going to die soon!
Best AnswerSame here. Mine is generally between 18 and 24. My resting heart rate is 50 to 54. I’m lean (5’4” and 107 lbs) eat healthy and exercise a lot (15k to 20k steps per day, yoga, weights, crossfit.) Get “Good” sleep grades.
Can anyone suggest a better device for HRV ?
@JuneauJMC get PolarH10 chest strap and EliteHRV app on the phone. It's free and will give you lot more data and way better interpretation (taking the context into account).
You are right, they probably should name it differently, or at least add disclaimer on the method of how HRV is measured to avoid being compared with other devices. I have now had the watch for half a year or more and found the measured or estimated HRV if you will, is very consistent and reliable.
There is a very fine correlation when i had too much wine the night before and a significant drop in HRV, it will peak when i actually do feel well rested after a good long nights sleep. We just sold our house and signed a contract on a new house, which didnt pass without some very stressfull days, resulting in a measured HRV on Sense going down. What I am saying, it correlate fine with periods where i feel stressed, unfortunately havent been sick and can say how it will behave.
And once more, dont compare this to measurements from other devices, or at least make sure that the results from other devices are made during sleep, and not over 24 hours period or short sport measurements during day. Compare the results on the Sense with your own earlier measured data. It is a better indicate on stress and sickness compared to using resting rate, where RHR go up a few bmp, HRV will drop with a higher amound compared to your normal level. Its an altenative indicator to RHR for gauging your restitutaion and stress levels.
Fitbit is using this as marketing gimmick to sell more watches. In so doing, they cause concerns amongst users due to inaccurate HRV calculations.
This has been highlighted to Fitbit ... but they won’t act on it unless there are sufficient users voicing their concern:

Mine is in the low 20’s and I just got on this site to see if others are getting a low reading. Gods to see others believe the readings are not correct
Best AnswerI’m having the same issue, 6/26/2021. Did your problem resolve?

Best AnswerExactly ! I bought this thing for the added features but this feature seems like nonsense. My HRV is between 15-24 for months / never has increased even once. I am not sure I would still be here if it was legit that low. 😞
