Is support for Spotify offline on Sense planned?

The features of the new Sense sound awesome, but the missing support for taking Music from Spotify offline is a bummer.

Is there a feature supporting this planned for the future?

@psysp At this time we do not know. I hope it is coming but until Fitbit confirms it, we can only speculate. Given how frequent this is requested, I bet they are working on it.

I'm just a FitBit customer for the last 4 month. I bought the Charge4. Looking in the past how likely is it that FitBit adds such a feature? Are there in general many feature drops after the official releases?

Just to add, it might be worth adding your vote to this feature suggestion regarding offline Spotify playlists. It says it's currently under consideration, so the more votes it gets the better. I've added my vote 😁

I would also love to see this feature. This is the only thing holding me back from upgrading from a Samsung watch to the new fitbit sense. Samsung let's us listen to our spotify list offline with a pro version.

Honestly it's a joke it's not already sorted.  Fitbit want to take on Apple (who have their own music service) yet don't let you download for offline use from the biggest streaming service in the world.

Do you know there's actually no way to listen to Podcasts offline on your Fitibit (unless you manually download from their website, and then transfer manually using a PC to your watch).  Deezer has offline music but it doesn't work with podcasts.

C'mon Fitbit - Spotify offline is a must if you want to compete with Apple and truly make this the awesome product is sounds like it wants to be!

I've been after this feature for months, even switching to Garmin specifically for it. After 2 months I need to switch back because Garmin products just aren't reliable like fitbit was for me.

I've looked into why this feature hasn't already been added a bit, and I'm pretty sure Spotify have some king of exclusive deal with Garmin. They won't even consider adding offline Fitbit functionality on their suggestion forum.

Spotify are coming off pretty shady in their dealings lately so I'm just gonna cancel premium, switch to Deezer and sell my Garmin watch for a Fitbit Sense. This is way too much hassle just so I don't have to take my phone whilst running for the music.

I don't think so because it's offered on Samsung watches, too.

That answers also my question. How can I get information about this issue being resolved, in order to buy Sense version?

Ah fair, there's obviously some sort of impasse when it comes them bringing this feature to Fitbit though. Probably money related.

I got a Versa 3 yesterday and signed up for the Deezer 3 month trial. Pretty smooth so far, was easy to sync music to and worked well out running. Their music library has grown a lot too.

It has still not been resolved, and likely wont be.

Fitbit likely gets a kickback from these premium services.

A must-have feature

my educated guess is, after the take-over/buy-out by Google, there won't be anything done about offline-streaming for Spotify.

My educated guess is, that there most likely will be a feature implemented to run Youtube Music off it.

But considering that the Fitbit SENSE has 4 GB storage capacity, and a rather low-end, low-powered, custom-made ARM based SoC/CPU made by Toshiba, I'm not sure that the Fitbit SENSE will have to computational power to do so. I can see that the Fitbit SENSE Operating-System is also an issue, but I'd have to dig into the Fitbit app via Android's Debug Bridge to find out more.

The way I see it, the Sense is offloading computational stuff to the smartphone, that the Sense itself is actually nothing more that a bluetooth-based remote in media regards.

I recently bought Fitbit Sense. What made me decide to buy it was because of the "Spotify" could be played on the watch itself. I should had read it completely and carefully (MY BAD!) and didn't notice the word "control" on wrist. So, I can only control the Spotify music (phone must be in my pocket!) on the watch but this is not what I was looking for. I thought I could play Spotify "offline" while doing my running routines! But it's too late for me now as the retailer where I bought this doesn't accept returning the watch! Forced to create a Deezer account and avail the 3-month free premium (will deactivate this before it expires). COME ON FITBIT it's already 2022! Seems you're not taking your costumers' concerns very seriously!!! Another bummer is this free 6-month Fitbit Premium -- I tried chatting and raising my concern thru online support and told me that it's not yet available in my country!! No ending frustration!!! It feels like being scammed for some reasons!

To all the hopefuls out there,

I found this page on a Spotify Community page.  Spotify doesn't seem interested in a partnership with Fitbit and the case is closed, for now.

Incase anyone is thinking of buying a sense and music is part of their thoughts, alongside the other fitness/sleep/heart rate features.....it appears that they have persisted with the same features since launch.

Having had the watch for several months, I've used it to play/pause/skip music on connected Bluetooth devices like speakers.  But need a music subscription to be able to actually pick music.  Furthermore, if go for a run then have to take phone or MP3 player with you to listen to music.  Unless have specific music subscription service (even Spotify would still need to take phone on run with you).

So if you want a smart watch to help with statistics whilst exercising then Fitbit sense has lots of features, but if want to listen to music simultaneously then need to subscribe to specific apps (Deezer/pandora).  If want to listen to a podcast on your run then I think the only option is to take your phone with you to exercise

On a similar note, The oxygen sats monitor is not real time. It just gives you an average for overnight/when asleep.  Not realtime reading, and not when it hasn't detected you're asleep.

Seems like the watch is full of features/potential, but a lot of it is restricted/not accessible or not user-controllable.
