Right wrist wear - unwanted button trigger

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just received my Sense today, I wear watches on my right hand and I've noticed something funny.

When I bend my right wrist all the way forward (away from the button) the button is activated. If I keep it bent, it activates the long press of the button.

Anyone else has this issue?

If I put it on my left wrist and perform the same motion the button does not get triggered.

Hi, it's good to see you around the Community forums @WillowJF

Thank you for sharing this feedback, I've seen some people who have mentioned they've experienced something similar while practicing a few sports, like mountain bike or just during a regular bike ride, but it's usually the other way around, when you get your hand closer to the button.

Currently there's no setting available to adjust the sensitivity of the button, but I do recommend that you vote for this idea posted in the Feature Suggestion section of the Community to have the option to lock the buttons of the watch during exercise.

Let me know if you have further questions.

I think the best thing to avoid the button to trigger is to wear the watch on your leg, doesn't matter right or left. Let me know if it doesn't solve your issue.

Hi Davide,

it seems that the button on my Sense is getting triggered by putting pressure on the left-hand side of the bottom panel. I don't think this is supposed to happen as one of the main issues with the button I've seen on the forum is the button being hard to press not it being overly sensitive.

Thank you for the suggested idea as well, but I don't have any issues while exercising, it's literally in everyday motions that I trigger the button.

I'm having this same problem.  I can press the watch together like a sandwich and the button activates. It is very annoying when bending my wrist forward as it always activates the button. I have restarted the device several times just by having my wrist bent forward for a short amount of time. At this point I'd be happy with an option to just disable the button all together.

I’m a lefty, and the same thing happens with the button but on my arm. Doesn’t seem to matter what wrist, or how low or high you wear it, the button gets pushed. I’ve set that shortcut to my music to play, so I look down and see it on that display all the time. Super irritating.

Update for those coming here later:  Fitbit support told me I was wearing it wrong by having it on my wrist. so... good luck...

This has got to be one of the most frustrating things about the Sense to me! I'm always triggering my long press action.

Hahaha, love it.

For me, bending the wrist downwards triggers the button on both wrists -- but more so on the right. It's appalling.

And when I actually do want to press the button, it often simply does not respond. Hilarious.

95% sure I will be returning my Sense just because of this. Otherwise I really liked the watch.
