I noticed that this error (notification service not running...)comes up every time I close the fitbit app and keeps on working if the app stays open, i use the Fitbit sense with a Xiaomi mi 9t pro

Same error on same phone. Sometimes I've managed to restart them by restarting my Sense. Once or twice by clearing cache and or data in Fitbit app.
This is a recent problem for me. They worked mostly until some time ago. Not sure when though.
Perhaps an OS update bug knocked it out?
There are some other posts which have solutions, so it's worth searching the forums.
Good luck. I'm hoping we find proper solution that works for more than a few hours.

Let me share that some Huawei users reported this issue and this was forwarded to our team so they can work to get it resolved. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and because your phones are different, may I know if you've exhausted the troubleshooting described here? If so, please give a try to the following steps:
Once the process is done, make sure the Fitbit app is allowed to run in the background, set up the notifications one more time and keep an eye on your watches.
