Update 10/7/2020: The ECG app should be available now in the countries where it is currently available.
The Fitbit ECG (electrocardiogram) app on Fitbit Sense has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as Conformité Européenne (CE) marking in the European Union. The ECG app will be available in October 2020 to customers in the US, certain European countries, and Hong Kong. Availability outside the U.S. is pending applicable regulatory clearances.
Check out this Fitbit blog post for more details on how on-wrist ECG technology can offer early identification for irregularities like atrial fibrillation. For more answers to frequently asked questions about what the ECG app does and how it works, see fitbit.com/ecg.

And no date for Canada it seems? It was originally listed along with the USA for October, but now has been taken off the new list.
Is this in error?
& exact;y what are these plans - proposed implementation and how?
Best AnswerJust bought mine... hope they've got things rolling with TGA for approvals so it isn't an Apple Watch nightmare.
Best AnswerWould also like to know when the ECG will be available in Canada? The sense is a lot of money, and the ECG app was the sole reason I upgraded from my versa. Not really worth it if we can't get access to it in Canada.
@SunsetRunner I received mine at launch and don't have the ECG feature. I'm pretty sure no-one here has it.
Best AnswerExactly, as I said the app won't be released until October and without that there is no way to take an ECG reading. The watch has the appropriate regulatory approval so as soon as the app is released then the ECG feature will go live.
Ah, sorry! When you said “from launch”, I thought you were talking about the watch.
Best AnswerI must be honest, I bought an Apple Watch 5 a while ago specifically for the ECG feature. It is an awesome device. However I prefer Fitbit's smartphone app over Apple's by a longshot. PLEASE make the ECG app available. I need to sell my Apple Watch to pay for the Sense.
Best AnswerI didn't realize the speaker doesn't work.
