Why does it have to sync before it shows me the data?

The Fitbit Sense has all these log menus that show me HR, Steps, Calories Burned, Sleep, etc. What I don't understand is why some of this data that is collected by the watch, cannot be displayed on the watch until it first syncs with the phone app.

One of the first things I would like to do when I wake up, is see how much sleep I got. Nothing super detailed like what the phone app shows. Just an idea as to how long I slept. However the device that collected this data independently, cannot show me the data, until it syncs to the phone app...

I wouldn't have as much of a problem with this if there weren't so many issues with syncing!!!

I use a VPN on my phone, and a lot of times that creates issues with the app not syncing. Or maybe Bluetooth decided to crap out on me. Which that is a whole other thing. I would like to use my Voice Assistant, but it tells me it cannot communicate with my phone and to check Bluetooth. Which is funny, cause I'm still receiving notifications... What?

I honestly wish the Fitbit Sense could just show me the data as its collected, without having to first sync with the app.

I can see getting more details about the collected data after syncing with he app. However for the most basic information that the watch collects, it should be able to show me this data right away.

This is equivalent to you righting something down, that asking someone else to proof read your work before you can even read your own writing.

Hello @Gotcha8484 your tracker collects the data and does some computations, however most of the fancy stuff is computed in the cloud services after the first sync a-pon waking up.

It is more like a person collecting heart readings, SpO2 readings. Maybe some ECG, then handing this data to the doctor to get their opinion.

Most VPNs can be set to open a port or allow a specific app. Check your manual
