I just got a new iphone 7 and I can't get my Surge to pair, any suggestions?

It's great to see you in the Community @smithe22! I would love to help you with this. First step, make sure that your old phone is not nearby or just turn the Bluetooth off. Yesterday the Fitbit App had an update, so make sure that your new phone has the new version of Fitbit too. Then follow the next steps:

PS. I noticed that tittle of this topic is for Blaze, I can see in your Profile info that you have a Surge, so I'm assuming typo error, right?
