Fitbit surge not showing elapsed time during workout mode

Both yesterday and today I turned my new surge (got it for Christmas) to workout mode and the timer doesn't start. I keep hitting the screen and nothing, it stays at zero, but I see my HR and the time at the bottom. It worked fine in run mode over the weekend but workout in exercise mode is not responding.
At the end of the day yesterday I saw it logged some of my aerobic class activity under aerobics due to my Heart rate zones I guess. Today my 50 minute intense boot camp class got nothing but 17 mins categorized as aerobic. Why is the clock not responding?!

I generally start it using the button but a screen tap should work. Have you tried the button to see if the screen has a problem (assuming the reset doesn't sort it out although I agree that it should).

@Mariefost Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I believe that problem can be solved by performing a restart on your Surge. That will fix any issue with the tracker not responding to some of its features.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Thanks guys. I used the button on the lower right hand of the watch and the timer started running, smh. I didn't realize that "play" button was actually an arrow, I thought it was supposed to work by tapping the screen.
My last workout recorded perfectly.
