Version: 34.5.14
Silent Alarms: None
Music Control: None
All-Day Sync: Off
Quick View: Off
Notifications: 2 -- Call and Text Notifications.
I rarely get phone calls or texts.
I only synch my Surge 3 times a day.
I may swipe the screen 6 times a day, if that.
Yet I only get about 6 hours of battery life from it: it dies in my sleep, which is an inconvenience. One of the reasons why I got the Surge was to monitor my sleep.
I have had it for about a year, and I used to get 3 days from a charge.
What is the expected life of a Surge? Is there anything else I can do to extend the battery life?

So was mine. I was really disappointed with the customer service. You confirm that there's a battery issue but you want to offer me 25% off. Not acceptable when I paid $250 for the first device. Why would I give you more money?

Hi @daps42, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Fitbit limited warranty provides replacements for trackers deemed to have a manufacturer's defect within 365 days of purchase. In this case, because your tracker didn't meet these warranty conditions, a courtesy discount of 25% good towards the purchase of any tracker was offered to you. We strive for excellent customer service,
and customer satisfaction remains our number one goal, however, the demands of running a global business require that we now enforce our warranty consistently.
I will appreciate your understanding.

My Surge is nearly 2 years old and now won't hold a charge for more than about 6 hours... sound familiar? Same response from Fitbit support - they will give me 25% off the purchase of another device that will undoubtedly only last 1-2 years. No thanks Fitbit - moving on to another company. There is no reason this $250 device shouldn't last more than 2 years, especially when I didn't use if for about 10 months of that time. Ridiculous.

I get a huge chuckle when I read letters about when people have issues with their FitBit product and how awesome customer support is. Well it's awesome if you product is in under 12 month warranty otherwise you are out of luck, even if your device is a week out of warranty.
my first FitBit device was the Zip, it's been at least 4 years and still not one issue. Battery life is awesome and easy to replace.
Now every other device? There's been 5 including replacements, not one has lasted more than 14 months. 2 months out of warranty and kaput, now if in warranty they replace it.
Evidently quality control has gone out the window.

Hi @Nizzi, it is nice to see new members around! On the other side, I'm sorry to hear that the battery of your Surge is not lasting as expected. 6 hours of battery liffe sounds pretty bad.

@timroswell, are you having the same issue with your Fitbit Surge? If so, have checked the tips on this post to maximize the battery life of your Surge? Give it a try and let me know. 😉
Have a nice day guys!

Now that's very interesting. Are the FitBit products sold in EEA different then ones sold in the American markets? Are the EEA products built to a higher standard? If they are the same product, why a 2 year warranty in Europe and only 1 year in the USA?
Almost every FitBit product I owned has failed after 12 months and before 24 months. Same for most of the complaints here too.
why isn't the FitBit warranty the same everywhere, if the products are the same? Perhaps Europe has higher regulatory standards?
