I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S8 and the first day I setup the phone fit bit worked like normal. Day 3 I cannot get my surge to pair with my phone, I read all the previous forum discussions and followed the steps and was able to sync. The next day after i turn on Bluetooth on my phone I get the message again "surge rejected pairing". I can't remove the surge and set it up every time I want to sync. This has been a nightmare since I got the new phone, pairing issues, not able to receive text notifications, phone is not retaining previously paired devices on list. Aaargh please help.

I've noticed you are new around @Tactman, so let me give you a warm welcome to our Community.
If you're constantly having syncing issues, please give it a try to the troubleshooting steps suggested here.
Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ has been added to our official supported devices list a couple of months ago, so we appreciate any feedback about how they are interacting. Thanks so much for your patience while our team tested this out for you all. There are still some things being worked out, so some users might still have issues with the pairing, syncing or with notifications. Please give our troubleshooting tips a try if that is the case.
Keep me posted!

Haven't had any luck yet. When I follow the troubleshooting steps the only way I can get paired is by deleting the tracker from my app and then re-adding it. If I turn off the Bluetooth on my phone and turn it back on to pair I get the same message "pairing rejected by surge."
Also haven't been able to get notifications to work.
Frustrated!!

I'm with you. Massive frustrating!!! Sync'ed initially with my note 4. Then setup my laptop and since then will not sync with phone!!! Ran the entire gambit of troubleshooting recommendations which didn't work. Hacked around and then decided to remove the Surge from my phone and added back tried syncing, worked fine once!! Today I contacted support we de-installed / re-installed the phone app with no help. Replacing it.
Never have been able to go to watch mode either!
I don't seem to have any issues with the laptop.
Does anyone know if the new Ionic is better. Fitbit seems to have discontinued the Surge albeit a CR (consumer reports) #1 recommended. Iconic must be too new for reviews. Please note that according to the Surge manual, Bluetooth classic is for music and appears to be only for music.

Wildly unbelievable! I deleted the device from the phone app and started all over with the setup, asked for verification numbers twice, added to my Note 4 Bluetooth devices, and now for a round of functionality tests. Is the USB wireless adapter for pc syncing interfering with my phone!!!???

Thanks for getting back @Williebit and @Tactman! Thanks for trying those steps! As @Williebit mentioned sometimes reconnecting the Fitbit on your device helps, you can find the steps here.
USB Wireless Dongle shouldn't be an issue, but you can disconnect it while syncing to confirm if this helps.
Keep me posted guys!
