Spotify on Versa 4?

I think I speak for all of us when I say that the versa 4 needs to be able to use Spotify. All of the previous versa watches are able to use the Spotify app on the watch. So why not the versa 4? I say that we don't need the watch to be able to play the music just to be able to control the music.

Not happy. I looked in to getting the versa 3 before the 4 came out but wouldn't buy it for myself. My girlfriend did so well to surprise me with the versa 4 as a gift. Neither of us knowing that spotify is no longer an option. So now I have to ask my poor girlfriend who knows how excited I was to recieve it, to return it? Because I can't get skip a song from it while I'm at the gym? Shake my head.

Hi,

I just want to say how terribly disappointed I am in my new Fitbit Versa 4! What a total waste of $350! My sister in law has the versa 3 and always talks it up so I treated myself to a new watch and I couldn’t wait to have it all set up but I soon discovered there is no Spotify so why make a newer version for more money with less capabilities? Poor job guys

This should have been part of the Versa 4 product description. If it had been I wouldn't have purchased the Versa 4. I would have purchased the Versa 3. Now I have to return it and wait for the refund so I can get the Versa 3 instead. Very bad form Fitbit.

First no google assistant and now no Spotify. This is supposed to be the latest Fitbit versa but it has less features. So why is the versa 4 the newest?

Poor response I’m afraid.

Just dribbling a nothing response that has no reasoning as to why adding third party apps has been removed, must be hiding decisions about reducing production costs.

Going up in version but retrograding the software is very poor from a brand perspective.

Burying any notice of such actions in the fine print smells of cowardice by your bean counters who seem happy to take our money for a lesser device.

There are many more folk out there bad mouthing your product because of this, don’t be naive thinking it’s only what’s been posted here.

Do the right thing!

Wow, why would you listen to your customers? I made a huge mistake getting this Fitbit. I've learned and I  won't get another one!

That's just ridiculous! How is an upgrade and a downgrade in the same watch even capable?!?! The watch is used as a "fitness" device why not have a music controlled app?!  I've had 2 Versa 2s and both clunked out exactly after 2 years (irony in that) so decided to move on and now to hear Spotify isn't available.. next move is to bite the bullet and buy a Samsung watch smh. Sad your consumers have no say.

Rubbish answer, you’re losing customers hand over fist with this irrational lack of customer support and understanding!!!!

Im seriously thinking of taking mine back to replace it with an Apple device.

I’m so disappointed.

Well, I usually use a Garmin Instinct 2, but wanted something a bit more like a smart watch but that I could log walks and runs with as well.

Massively disappointed so far. No Spotify. My bank isn't supported for Fitbit Wallet, and the response from Fitbit is little more than a shrug of the shoulders.

I have an android phone so will likely return the Fitbit for a different Garmin.

This is very disappointing. I may switch to a different type

of smartwatch. It should have access to Spotify and other apps my older versa 2 had.

That is so disappointing, I used Spotify and reward cards on a daily with my Versa 2. I wish I had rather replaced my broken versa 2 with another instead of "upgrading"

Hi @Niqui_Khoury  - if you are unhappy with the watch Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.

If you are in that time frame It may enable you to get the more Versatile Versa 2. But bear in mind you won't be able to load personal music anymore, as Fitbit discontinued that feature.

I’m starting to feel a bit robbed with what I thought was an “upgrade” from my Versa 2.

No third party apps, no music, inaccurate or unavailable data.

This is not the way you should treat your buyers! Versa 4 and Sense 2 must be better than the older versions that's why we pay more money for it. And in reality it has almost the same features like charge 5. No music storage or music control on a sport watch? No covid information no games? This is a step back and it is not fair with us. That's my own opinion but it think many community people agree with it!

Fitbit just shout me down for my comments about the horrible Versa 4 :(. Don't you love that there are quick to silence someone but we haven't even heard anything from them about our options or how they can help this Fitbit community? Very interesting. This comment could probably be deleted. This is super frustrating!!!!

It's an exercise device not an iwatch... Its obvious the Google watch will take on those apps and the fitbit will focus on "fit". Controlling Spotify with your watch is useless anyway..

I think you are not a runner...For me Sense and Verse 3 was brilliant because I was able to listen to music without taking my phone with me. That saved me from concern with hurting my phone and it was so great to have a bluetooth headphone and just run 6 or 12 km. Now I cannot do that and that is very frustrating.

Also if you work in a radiochemistry lab when you cannot use your phone but you can listen to music during a 4 hour synthesis of a radioligand (e.g. F-18-L-DOPA) and you are able to change the music from your watch you would understand my fustration. 😉

@Nandor "I think you are not a runner" - what does make you think every runner runs without phone? I actually take my phone always on my runs. I simply do it for safety (often unfamiliar trails far from home and far from people and covering distances 20 to 40+km per run). Not taking your phone will certainly save it from harm but what if you get hurt while being far from any help. I also run at night and phone is just mandatory for me to have.

You do not need a phone for 6 km run and if I go to hiking for 30 to 40 km than my phone is with me as well but if you are on the countryside here in Hungary usually don't have signal on it so it is useless. If you run at places where you can be harmed of course it is a good to take a phone, but you also can loose your phone to people who you want you harm. But on the countryside no harm is coming usually to people even the night. I will not stop fighting for the same service what we had on Sense 1. This is not only a fitness watch it is a smartwatch and if it is just for fitness than it should be much more cheaper!

I understand but it's you who said to the guy "you are not a runner" 🙂 I just show you that your statement isn't true. I use watch that not only allows me to upload custom music but it supports offline Spotify and other services but I chose to use my mobile phone as I need two sources of audio (one for podcasts and one for metronome to maintain cadence). As much as I totally agree with you that Fitbit should at least bring back features that original Sense supported, yet I have allergy when people state things as absolute truth 😏 nothing personal, just my little quirk.
