Spotify on Versa 4?

I think I speak for all of us when I say that the versa 4 needs to be able to use Spotify. All of the previous versa watches are able to use the Spotify app on the watch. So why not the versa 4? I say that we don't need the watch to be able to play the music just to be able to control the music.

Please note that the installation of 3rd party apps is no longer supported for the Versa 4 nor the Sense 2. There are always changes in each wave of products. I appreciate your understanding.

I used Versa 2 for 3years. Finally pushed it to the limits with swimming activities. My fault. Decided to continue with Versa3. Unfortunatelly it was not available. I purchased Versa4 since promissed that product supports features from prevoius models. Today with unboxed Versa4 all I feel is frustration and being cheated. I cannot control Spotify account with Versa4. Is it possible to return the product? 

Why Fitbit charge extra for the product that is downgrade from previous model?

Wow! My excitement of getting my versa 4 this morning has now completely disappeared after reading this answer. Without the ability to connect to Spotify I also want to return my device.

I specifically asked for upgraded Fitbit for Christmas so that I could have Spotify on my device (I had an old Inspire). My husband got me Versa 4 thinking that he was getting me the best. Now it’s dawning on me that Spotify is not even available?!?! Ridiculous. This is literally of no use to me . I will be returning for either an Apple Watch or just going back to my Inspire. I honestly have no idea why you would remove Spotify feature. Beyond disappointed 

Same here. I’m super bummed. I wanted to go workout & control my music from my wrist. That’s literally all I wanted from this thing.

Agree - why would Google not allow 3rd party apps anymore?  Because they're not Google apps?  I've had a fitbit sincee 2013 and am very disappointed at the "New Technology" approach they're taking.  I do not need a lot of apps, but do want the option of having them and different clock faces as I've had all these years.

I feel exactly the same. I got my Versa 4 for Christmas as I was super excited to upgrade to my previous Versa but I'm more than disappointed that Spotify is gone from this model. Literately I don't see the use of this Versa 4 without Spotify. It sucks!!!

Well, since the fitbit moderator said "there are no plans on bringing this feature back", it made my decision to return my Versa 4 *super* easy. I felt a bit bad telling my husband that I wanted to return his xmas gift, but when I explained why, he was completely on board. I returned it tonight! What a letdown this was!

I returned my Versa 4 yesterday & got Apple Watch SE. Under $300 and had Spotify up and running on it less than 30 minutes after opening. I am starting to think that Google has some reason of purposely crashing the Fitbit brand. I didn’t really want to give Apple more of my money but had no choice, really

I ordered these for my kids for Christmas and they were SO disappointed they couldn't use Spotify. That's the main reason I bought them. Will be returning.

For now you can still control spotify through it. Just not play it. Whether
yall keep it or not please vote for them to bring back the apps for others

Hi @NaomiRose - how do you use a Versa 4 to control music?

In principle it has no music support and will not be getting any as music and 3rd party apps were specifically removed.

If you are unhappy with the watch, Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy if bought direct from them or from an authorised shop perhaps, and some stores offer a 14 to 30 day one.

A Versa 3 may be a better choice if you want music control. It has builtin Music controls, that can control any music playing on your phone, adjust the volume, without stopping whatever else the watch is doing.

I don't understand! How is it right that I have a premium account with Spotify and more you want me to have to get one with Pandora when I thought I was UPGRADING my watch?! This was a gift from my husband and adult kids who saved for this. I run a lot and wasn't too be able to listen to my music, now I'm being told c thanks for understanding "that that's not ever going to happen!

I don't necessarily see the point of controlling it if I can't play it. I can control it from my phone, too and it allows me to play it. It's not the same. A minor help, but a complete downgrade from the other versions..

Hi @NaomiRose - they have to say that, but the reality is there are many feature requests that have not been implemented after years.

Can you share how you are able to operate music on the phone using your Versa 4?

Yeah, I did notice that which is okay, but I wish I could run while listening to music without having to carry my phone. That's what I love about the GPS on this watch.

You wrap a versa 3 os in a vers 4 shell.BOOM u have a new watch with spotify. Whatever features being planned are clouding the essentials.
