Spotify on Versa 4?

I think I speak for all of us when I say that the versa 4 needs to be able to use Spotify. All of the previous versa watches are able to use the Spotify app on the watch. So why not the versa 4? I say that we don't need the watch to be able to play the music just to be able to control the music.

I AM a runner, I DO take my phone with me, BUT I prefer to have it in the
pocket of my leggings. You are not able to hear the music well when it's in
your leggings. In order to use the services your phone needs to be nearby,
either way.

@funmoma3 don't you use wireless headphones? One time, I had to use phone speaker to play metronome during my run as my headphones died. Indeed, for me it was hardly audible but all dogs in the area got attracted to that sound 🤣 wireless bone conductive headphones (ideally, fully charged before run 😁) are a must for me. My phone usually is in my back pocket or in the backpack if I run longer trail.

No, can't use pods and sweat too much for the other ones to not slip.

None of that really matters, as it was not part of my complaint, but thank you for your concern.

It's obvious that you need to bring it back it was a very useful feature and one of the only reasons I bought this watch is for the 3rd party apps just to find out this versions doesn't support it you really need to listen to what the community wants we all have been needing 3rd party apps added back

Honestly, I bought my sense2 thinking it would be a step up and it was a huge disappointment. I can't control music or 3rd party apps. Also can't return because I bought from an outside retailer. Sense 2 is no better than the cheap ones.

It’s taken me two weeks to navigate how to add it to my new Versa 4. So disappointed by this!!!!

Then why is the versa 4 priced so high? Less features = less price!

How long for SPOTIFY app to come to versa 4. I needed now and today. I thought it would support. I cannot use without spotify support. Tech goes backwards or what? I will return my product probably

Hello everyone! I welcome the newcomers to the forums.

I appreciate your posts and feedback about Spotify on the Fitbit Versa 4. Please note that this feature was removed for this new model. All products are different and individually developed. The best place to make your voice heard is the "Product Feedback" board, where you can submit your ideas and share it with other members. The more votes an idea receives, the better chance it has of getting implemented.

Take a look at this similar idea and show your support by adding your vote. Bring back Spotify app to Versa 4 & Sense 2 - click hereThe suggestions with more votes are taken into consideration by our developers for new updates or product development. Thanks in advance!

Why should we ‘vote’ for something many of thought, and expected would be there? After all, product upgrades generally improve on, and add to existing features.

Not at Fitbit apparently.

Maybe you should have named the watch ‘Fitbit Basic’ and given it a tagline of ‘Less than expected’ in your advertising - we’d all certainly feel less cheated.

Just got one yesterday and that's the only thing that would make a huge difference for me not ever owning a Fitbit!  Could be able to control Spotify on the watch!

Hi @xxlightlxx - as you are in the window did you know Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds, then you can get a Versa 3 which has built in Music Controls for controlling any music playing on the the phone and more features than the Versa 4..

And @xxlightlxx - But no Fitbit watches have on watch loading of music so you may want to look at other brands for that.

Yes I agree I was very, very, very disappointed and dissatisfied when I found out that versa 4 was more of a downgrade than upgrade from the versa 3 and more previous fitbit products. Not only are you restricted from using Spotify you are also restricted from all 3rd party apps. Another problem is you are unable to install clock faces that are available for almost all other fitbits.

Hi @CillGamer360 - if you are still in the window  Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.

Versa 3 are still available quite cheaply.

Thank you for your help. Although I am disappointed by the limited features of the versa 4 I think I will hold out for a while until I future changes come to the versa 4. The last thing I would ever want is to downgrade to a versa 3 and realise that they introduced a third party app update to the versa 4 so until its a clear decision that fitbit will not be introducing third party I think I will stay with my versa 4 for now. Thanks for your help 👍

@Guy_ Thanks for your input! Great advice.

@CillGamer360 Welcome to the forums, thanks for your interest in 3rd party apps on your Fitbit Versa 4. Please note that the development tool for apps is not avaialble for the new models Versa 4 and Sense 2. There are no plans on changing this at the moment. However, if anything changes I will surely let you all know. Thanks for your understanding. Happy stepping!
