Versa 2 SpO2 (EOV) Questions

Based on the press release for the Versa 2, an spO2 sensor will become standard and be used primarily for the sleep score.

Does anyone know if this will also be used in fitness tracking? i.e. when working out, would O2 levels be measured and considered when calculating the overall fitness score?

We all have the spO2 sensor as long as you have one of the watches that are mentioned. Here's a screenshot of what I found when I did a little searching. It's very irritating to know it's  there tracking our oxygen levels but we have to wait til we're deemed "worthy" 🤣 for them to turn it on. I guess, on a positive note, being last might be great at least by then they should have all the bugs worked out 😁 Now I'm hoping I'm last 😂😂😜

Hello everyone!

As mentioned before, the red and infrared sensors on the back of your Fitbit device capture the data that you see on your estimated oxygen variation (EOV) graph. Although the sensors are components of a relative SpO2 sensor, the graph is not a relative SpO2 estimate.

Your EOV graph is located under sleep stages in the Fitbit app, or, if you’re a premium subscriber, it’s on the Restoration tab under your sleeping heart rate information. If you don’t see your EOV graph, note that:

-You must get sleep stages and wear one of the following Fitbit devices to get the EOV graph: Charge 3, Ionic, and devices in the Versa series. 

-Certain customers began seeing the graph in December 2019. The feature will be available to all customers sometime in 2020.

Thank you for your answer. Can I ask 2 questions?  (I'm not trying to be a pain, I'm just trying to understand the thought process.) 

1.) What was the reason for rolling this out so slowly as opposed to giving it to everyone at the same time or during the latest update?

2.) Will this sensor be available for fitness tracking during the day seeings how right now it only is available for sleep monitoring? If so, Do you know approximately when that might be?

For your first ask...Keeping in mind the EOV is NOT the same as a SPO2 reading, maybe Fitbit wants to roll it out slowly so Drs waiting rooms and ER depts aren’t flooded with FitBit wearers saying ‘OMG I’m dying! Or am I?’’ 
Perhaps there needs to be more info and ‘education’ to explain the differences so wearers aren’t over reacting or under reacting. Until you see your own personal EOV graph it’s hard to know how you will react.

So you believe that Fitbit wants to interpret the data, since the data from the sensor it advertised would actually be too much information for its users. I'm surprised the advertisement wasn't for EOV then instead of Spo2.  Could you imagine a blood pressure cuff that didn't actually supply blood pressure but rather interpreted results to you with a note stating, "We can't trust you with that information as you are not a doctor.  Neither are we, but we want to interpret it the way we see fit.  Fitbit.". Lol

Still do not have this feature yet. I have uninstalled the app, hoping this would update. I have the latest firmware as my friends. They all have this feature and I do not. I have the Fitbit 2 versa..

you are absolutely right in your statement. !!
in this age of internet and Dr Google,  it Is very challenging when health info .. your own personal info.. is given to you without some sort of preamble ‘education’. I see this all the time now that Patient lab results are available online and while ‘normal values’ are included, often with a brief comment, people freak if they see a H or L beside a value. Taken out of context it can, and often is, misunderstood. 
‘Perhaps’ Fitbit is reevaluating how they market this NOT a SPO2 metric.

What I don't understand about SpO2 is that all medical SpO2 monitors require you to be still for at least one minute before taking a reading. Even my cheap finger monitor stresses that. How then could we be walking or even running and take a reading?

From my understanding, it only takes the readings while you're sleeping.

I have the same firmware which updated itself last week. Have Versa 2, premium, cell phone is LG V8, Android 9, 6GB flash memory-2GB free, 128 GB internal storage, 1TB SD,, also use Galaxy Tab S4 with Android 9, no cell radio but same specs-only use Fitbit when I turn the other's BT off. Have been using Fitbit & Premium since 2013 across around 10 devices. My Versa 2 also flashes red light during sleeping hours, so SPO2 is allegedly tracking. 

Can remember a couple times maybe 5 years & before, some similar firmware/software/sensor feature coordination got screwed up. This SPO2 inconsistency does appear like the app design & firmware codes were not on the same page, like in 2 or 3 separate camps, & some bugs decided to tango. I think this will take some time to sort out, plus selling to Google some priorities have probably changed, but Google bought Fitbit at a very low price. At some point, Google will have to correct coding & due diligence to fold Fibit into their Wearable program. 

I'm sleep apnea (CPAP), aFib, & other arrhythmias recently corrected with several surgeries, so I am looking forward to the graph for it's data over time.

First of all EOV is not spO2 , EOV graph is made over night sleeping but spO2 can read ur pulses and give immediate oxygen level in 1 a min or less which is  used to determine how it varies during walking , running and exercising , .Hope some u might aware of PFT and 5 min walk test suggested by many plumonologist these days . I got reply in mail from fitbit development team that it dont have spO2 at all but only sensors are there but that is to generate the same EOV graph over a period of entire night u need to wear that . so its   a workaround soln they suggested but it dosent work for me at all as I was looking for spO2 sensor in this watch . so start thinking of alternate options

I see no indication of how to access the EOV reading.

I am not an experienced Fitbit user and find the Versa 2 operating instructions chaotic, an virtually useless when I can find them.

I have a Versa 2 (purchased in December).

I use the Sleep Stats everytnight but see no indication of any SpO2 monitoring of any Kind.

How do I turn it on?

I'm new to Fitbit and find the Instructions hard to find, Chaotic and generally useless descriptions and advertising.

Is there any coherent set of instructions that you can access by a topic lookup?

There are no on/off settings.

As earlier stated in the thread,  Fitbit is slowly rolling this out to the users.  You just have to wait until it just magically appears

The application was better before fitbit added premium and discover. It
use to be clear uncluttered and worked flawlessly. Now buggy pushy and
annoying best discrbes the application. The application contains in app
purchasing that is pushy.
