Fitbit Update: 12/18/19

Hi everyone,

When this thread started earlier this year, the issue was that waterlogging on the watch was not syncing over to the Fitbit app. No matter what you would log, it just wouldn't show up in the Fitbit app and didn't sync the information over.

Now, we're seeing reports that waterlogging is syncing over, but it is the wrong amount of water that was logged onto the watch. To keep threads organized and on-topic, I'm now going to close this thread and move the conversation here: Water Logging syncs incorrect amount to app.I've already merged some posts from this thread into that one.

If you're experiencing this new issue after updating to Fitbit OS 4.1, follow that thread for updates.

Fitbit Update: 2/7/19

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience while our team continues to investigate these reports with water logging issues. If you haven't yet tried some troubleshooting steps, I'd recommend the following:

  • Sync your Versa with your mobile device
  • Force quit and then restart the Fitbit app
  • Restart Today app on Versa and wait at least a minute

I'll keep you updated, so please stay tuned!

Fitbit Update: 12/17

Hi Versa Smartwatches family,

In the last firmware update Fitbit OS 4.1 (70.7.14), we implemented some fixes to improve waterlogging on the device. If you haven't already, please make sure you update to this new firmware which is packed with many new features and fixes

In addition, inside of the Fitbit app make sure that you check the TODAY app and that there aren't any pending updates for it.

Lastly, make sure you have the latest version of the Fitbit app installed on your phone. It's important to always keep the app up to date to ensure the best Fitbit experience.

We appreciate your patience while we rectified this issue. Please do let us know how it goes after updating to OS 4.1!

With the new update there's now an option to track your water intake through the "Today" section. Except nothing I log there is synced with the app or website. But if I log my water on my phone, it does show up on the watch.

Also, when I log water on the watch, it displays that "8 fl oz logged at 2:52pm" and never shows what my total log for the day is. I don't see any way to get rid of this message to see my total. This makes it totally useless b/c I don't care what my last log is, all I want to know is my daily total! If I log my water on my phone app instead, then the watch displays the daily total. Assuming this is a bug??

Hi, just have patience, the Today screen will be updated pretty soon. Put your tracker in the charger and connected to a PC and usually the Today screen will be updated automatically. If not, go to your Fitbit app - go to apps - my apps - and see on the right side of the screen if the Today app needs updating. If yes, update it and you're finished.

Got the Today update! Unfortunately hasn't helped - water logged on the watch is still not syncing to the phone/web and if any water is logged on the watch then it won't show the day's total (it just shows a message about what was logged which never goes away until it resets for the next day).

I'm curious if this is working for anyone or if it's just a bug of the new Today which needs to be worked out

Mine didn't update either, but then again, I just installed the firmware update, so we'll see what happens.

@VolcanicGlass Hey, there! Sorry, you're having trouble seeing the water you're logging inside of the Fitbit app.

If you could, please try force quitting the Fitbit app then open it again and see if the water logs show. Let me know if this is of any help, I'm very interested to know if this resolves it for you.

Unfortunately not. It still registers in the watch as being logged (see photo) but that message never goes away (doesn't show new Total) & still doesn't sync to the phone.

I'm having this issue as well! So it's definitely a bug that needs fixed.

The new weight tracking feature within Today on the watch is having the same issues as water tracking (getting hung up on the "log added" screen & not syncing to the app), so I think it's all one bug!

Same issue with mine. Tried the various fixes mentioned, but nothing seems to correct the problem. When I enter the water amounts on the Versa, those amounts don't transfer over to my phone app.. and.. when I enter the water amounts on my phone app, they won't transfer back to my Versa.

This seems like it will (eventually) be a really nice feature, since it makes it extra easy to log and track your water intake. Hopefully, the bugs will be worked out soon.

Same problem for me.  Seems this feature hasn't been fully fleshed out.  Nice idea tho'.

I am having the same issue as well! I contacted fitbit and was told it was my phone that is causing the issue. I have a galaxy note 8 and was told it hasn't been fully tested.

I've seen others having the same issue but was told it's my phone and they cant do anything else. 🤦‍:female_sign:

Hoping this is just a bug.

It's not your phone. It is a firmware bug. They are looking into it.

I deleted the app, restarted my phone, reinstalled the app (of course have to set up certain elements again) and restarted my Versa.  Water logging now works for me!  After entering the water value, if I sync with my phone (seems slower than before) I will see the amount reflected in the total in the Fitbit app AND the screen changes in my Today app so that now I see my total for the day instead of X oz logged at X:XX pm..  A side swipe sees a weekly average.

I am using a Samsung S7 running Android 8.0 with the new Versa firmware 32.22.1.30 and Fitbit app version 2.84.

I am having the same exact issue with my versa. I log my water intake on the watch and it's not updating it in the app. It's also not showing my total water logged for the day, only my last log time and amount. Hopefully this issue is fixed because I've been waiting for this capability!

Having the same issue as well. I'm following this thread for updates. I tried @kcronin's method but it didn't work for me. The last updated for the Today App is 12/19 for me. Sure hope things will be fixed soon with a new update.

I realized after a day that mine does sync, but very slowly. For example, my water log has gone back to 0 oz today, and my entries yesterday finally got recorded onto yesterday's count (shown as double count since I tried to record again on my phone/PC). My sleep log is also lagging. It's showing my sleep hours from yesterday, not today.

@kcronin Thanks so much for sharing what you did! I'm glad to hear waterlogging is now showing inside of the Fitbit app for you. Smiley Happy
