Why can 2 zips not be on the same account? Previous versions of the Fitbit software allowed a user to have multiple zips. Can this option for multiple zips not be reinstated in the next software update?

Hello @NMC72
Since giving us the ability to have multiple devices pair to one account, it's always been a rule that only one of each style can be set up. You can have one Zip and one Versa or one Zip and anything else, but two Zips can't be on a single account.
Were both Zips for you or were you sharing the account?

Both zips were for me. A couple of years ago I was able to register 2 zips and a charge on the same account for me. It allowed me to easily change which device I had with me. I am very frustrated that I can only register one of my zips and have to add/remove the zip each time I carry a different one.

@NMC72 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Like @Odyssey13 explained it isn't possible to have two of the same type trackers on your account and has never been. You can have multiple trackers as long as they are from a different type like having a Charge 2, a Zip and a Alta HR. Also you can only have one watch (Ionic or Versa) on your account. If you are interested in this option please vote for the idea in our Feature suggestions board. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.
Let me know how it goes!

I do realize it is no longer possible. However, I must dispute your statement that it has never been possible to have two zips on the same account. I used to have two on my account -- and I could tell which one it was because they showed up as the correct color.
I will vote for the idea on the Features board. It is truly something that has me ready to switch which brand of device I use.

Thanks for the reply @NMC72! As @AlvaroFitbit and @Odyssey13 kindly mentioned above, currently your account can have one of each device model. You can read more about this in the help article Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?
I appreciate that you have voted for the main idea suggested above and that you have shared your feedback regarding the multidevice feature. I wanted to assure you that we take into consideration all the comments provided by our users to continue improving your experience.
Catch you later! 🙂
