I've been notified that there are reports of Zip battery draining quickly on iOS version 2.41.1 and our team is currently investigating. If you are experiencing this, we recommend disabling all-day-sync for now. I'll update this post once I hear more. Thanks as always for your patience and understanding.

I am currently waiting for my third zip to be sent to me. This is the second replacement. This is a piece of crap. The battery drains in less than a week and you will not give me a refund. I will keep requesting replacements as long as they keep dying. If you know this is an issue FIX IT or give me a REFUND. Either way, I am done with fitbit. Fitbit is no longer the only player in the game. There are other alternatives out there.
I am on my second zip replacement. Three zips and three batteries in three months. Piece of crap.

I'm grinning at your reply! Thanks! Us ol' folks have to stick together and share the brain 😉 My fitbit zip has been working really well since I last posted. Zero battery issues.
Ignore this reply! It has attached itself to the wrong original post!

Not mine -- in fact, it's worse now! Syncs only a partial number of steps to iPhone. Since the Windows 10 app continues to be slow to load and clunky to use, I really would like to be able to rely on the iPhone to track my steps. Am seriously looking into alternatives, some of which are highly ranked by tech magazines.

I've posted earlier about my zip and the batteries i've gone through. Just on Amazon ,many pedometers but not many that clip on and sync with phone. So if anyone comes up with an alternative, please post. I do like the FITBIT ZIP, but need it to work consistently.

Garmin has one called the Vivoki that clips on and syncs to your smartphone, but it is $199.99 on amazon. Not willing to pay that yet.

I have the FitBit app on iOS 11.2.1. My battery has lasted very long with All-Day Sync ON, but to be belt-&-suspenders safe I have turned it OFF. When I want to view status from my iPhone I can tap the Zip to force sync.

I’ve done this! No change. Seriously disappointed in this product bought specifically for working on the wards in hospital. Would have been more cost effective to by large watch strap so I could wear Alta on my ankle. Total Rubbush. You’ve been selling thus with problems clearly since at least 2014. Appalling.

Every time I manually sync -- either on the iPhone or my Windows 10 desktop -- the battery "drains" although it also seems to come back to full strength within a brief time. However, because I have to manually sync... unless I do so right before going to bed, the stupid thing does not record all my steps for the day! Luckily, I am no longer in a walking challenge. However, this is utterly ridiculous. I think I'll turn the all-day sync back on and if and when it drains the battery, I'll buy a Garmin.
