My app froze during a track earlier when it was paused. Now when I click on anything in the app such as exercise, sleep, food anything nothing happens

Never had this before and updated the app yesterday...

Hello @SunsetRunner and a warm welcome.  My usual first line troubleshoot for something like this is to:

  • Delete the Fitbit app
  • Restart my phone
  • Re-download the app

I hope this works, but it is not a guarantee.

In fact the only thing it will let me do is access my profile/settings and view previous days. I can’t do anything else

Yep - same thing happened to me. It had been working great for weeks. Today I was recording an exercise (a long walk) when I looked at my phone (OSX) - instead of the usual GPS map, it flashed back to the main screen. Now it's stuck there - I can't end the exercise, and I can't click on anything other than my account and past days' main screens. It still syncs and records my current steps, bpm, etc., but I can't see any of the submenus. Restarting the phone didn't help. I worry if I uninstall and reinstall the app, I'll lose all my data.

I’m having the same problem. I can’t get beyond the main screen. It’s frozen.

Update: It fixed itself overnight. (I lost my GPS data - the map and milage - for that one walk, but a minor price to pay.)

Yeah mine was the same, sorted overnight and still

recorded the activity but only as steps not as a route so lost the mileage but never mind!

Mine has just done this!

I can change dates, go into profile/account settings etc. But nothing happens if I tap exercise/sleep/heart rate. Basically anything on the front screen.

I can track on MyFitnessPal in the meantime. Reckon it will just correct itself? And hopefully sync the exercises then too!

This is happening to me every time the app has tracked some exercise. I have found that logging out of the app and back in again clears the problem

I have had this problem as well. To many times. Fitbit really needs to fix this so you can get back to a started exercise.

That’s what just happened Ed to me!!

I had the same EXACT, down to every last detail, experience today. So frustrating!!!! I was on a moderate 7.7 mile hike today, and would’ve like to have had my exercise recorded. Seems like I have some Fitbit issue now once every week or two. Time for Apple Watch?

you need to delete the app and add it.  You lose the exercise.  It is a pain.

Somehow, it started working again overnight. It’s frustrating how often I have issues.
